I hope they don't. Mentions in future DA games/stuff would be awesome, or a cameo if he lives. But I think the raeg would be so all-consuming if they brought him back no matter what.

I do hope Justice, the Justice from Awakenings comes back if Anders is dead instead of forever Vengeance. I do really want to hear what he thinks of the events that happened. Especially the rivalmanced Anders scenario and the non romanced Anders who wasn't friend nor rival. He flips out a bit more in that ending.

I agree.  I'd just like to know more about him.  For one thing, I just know the writers have more information about him.  I KNOW THEY DO.  And it makes me paranoid or something.  I don't know why.

Not significantly important, but, we don't know if he adopted that name to redefine himself or just a nickname he goes by. I guess what I'm saying is that there could've been potential to explore his past and understand him better as a person. The conversations with him were more about his ambition to liberate mages than actually getting to know him.

I honestly don't know how a person can be with another person for 6 years (living with him for 3) and not have the opportunity to familiarize with each other. Real names included. Reminds me of that show in ID Discovery, "Who the bleep did I marry?"

Obviously, my Hawke wasn't as emotionally open or something, because I can't imagine him even minding.

The name doesn't matter much. He comes home at night (or early morning), he smells like the sewer and sick people just like he does every day, his voice is the same and his hands are the same. Under that, the name hardly seems important.

Or maybe he told you off screen and it's something so horrible they never mention it again. : D

I tend to think he's exaggerating there. It's the driving force behind him, sure, and who he was pre-Justice might not matter to him as much anymore, but there's still some old Anders in the mix even at the end. Part of it is probably just another attempt to distance himself from people. Otherwise "the cause of mages" loves and/or obsesses over Hawke, likes losing at cards regularly, and so on.

It's possible that Hawke never finds out more about his background or personality than the in-game dialogue shows, but that's hard for me to believe and pretty depressing.
