Even beyond the templar vs chantry vs mage dilemma, there's definitely a lot more going on.

You mean that mysterious thing happening that every Grey Warden kept smacking our faces with? Lol.

Or maybe Sandal's prophecy :o

I don't think I've ever seen Bioware do subtle foreshadowing.

I mean, I love them, I do. And I might not always know what they're going to do. But I always get that HERE'S A BIG SECRET feeling.

Maybe they'll just keep introducing new heroes until we have the technology to include all our heroes, then our whole party and love interests will be all the PC's we've played. Which could possibly be very, very gay.

Plus, Orlais apparently wants to take back Ferelden, and more stuff seems to be going down in Ferelden... in general.

Throw in Qunari and the Tevinter Imperium and... and yeah.  I can't even. x__x

For science.

I'm kind of glad to discover that the situation between the chantry, templars and mages isn't completely black and white 'good vs evil.'  DA2 kind of left me feeling as though war was inevitable, and that there was definitely a 'right side' to the conflict, but after re-watching the interrogation scene at the end of the game a few times more, it seems like a war MIGHT happen, and that it's still possible to prevent it.

Hopefully in a way that's not completely fail-tastic for the mages.  I'd prefer circle reform, to complete annihilation of the circles.  More freedoms for the mages, and a stricter watch on the templars.

To be honest, I still think Anders' chantry explosion was necessary in the sense that it gave the chantry a wake-up call, a clear message of what could (and did) happen when you remove too many rights from a group of people.

My impression (from the final cutscene between Varric and Cassandra) was that the chantry wants peace (now that the main body of templars has split to pursue the mages) and that they wish to achieve it by opening a dialogue and possibly offering concessions.

I'm really hoping we're not going to get a case of too little, too late.

Even beyond the templar vs chantry vs mage dilemma, there's definitely a lot more going on.

It seems like one big **** all.  I just hope Bioware doesn't get in over their heads and it comes out lacking.  Also David helped with the games yes? I sorta felte like he was telling people what was right and what was wrong, and what we really should have felt about the game in the end.  Granted it is 3:30 am here and I am on meds that make ones head spin, but thats what it read like to me. If they felt that Anders was over doing the mage thing, they could have shown more of what the Templar's deal with because the blood mages in the game that we did fight, could easily be argued as desprate save for one or two...not helping the case at all.

Sorry for the aimless ramble -.-  I just don't like the feeling of a dev telling me in a nice round about way I am wrong about a game I am suposed have influance in.

Yep really need to learn to keep my thoughts to myself :crying:

One thing I really wanted to do was get inside the Gallows and see what it looks like and how the mages have to live. I was excited about Anders' Dissent quest and sneaking in but we all know how that ended. :pinched:

He's the lead writer. ^_^

That being said, I really didn't get the impression that DG was saying 'you are wrong, and this is how you're supposed to interpret the game.'  I think he was just clearing up some of the misconceptions people have regarding mage/tranquil treatment/imprisonment.

These are the internets, after all, and many people DO like to put their opinions forward as hardcore, undeniable facts.

Myself included, probably. xD

EDIT:  Okay, so not probably.  Most definitely.

True enough,  still worried about the **** all war that is breaking though:pinched:  I do try to let people know that this is how I see something and try to respect their view, kinda pointless to try and change thier's.

Also I think with the lack of seeing this in DAO because we were to busy killing darkspawn, that it felt kinda thrown at you like "oh yeah remember that thing we hinted on...TAKE A SIDE NAO!!!"

<_< but I don't wanna...okay that's a lie...I'm with Anders....

LOL, that's pretty much how the situation went down for both of my Hawkes during two play-throughs with 2 completely different characters. xD

Apparently, they have the 'DO NOT WANT' mentality in common though.

My first Hawke was like, "fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff..." when Anders blew up the chantry, but let him live because hey, if he had to kill templars, Anders was going to pull his weight. >.>

My second Hawke, on the other hand, was in deep, rediculous love with Anders.  He couldn't kill him when the time came, but he was so pissed off by Anderes betrayal and explosions that he ended up sending him away. xD

Sadly, my Hawke was pretty much blindingly in love with Anders (still), and ended up welcoming him back before the final onslaught. x__x

If you send him packing he shows back up?  do you mean you tell him to leave at the end of the Dissnt quest? Or after the Chantry thing?

I think David was justifiably slightly peeved that people keep saying over the top things like "you think tranquil are ok so you must condone slavery" when he doesn't say things like that at all. He is a master of vague language that says very little about things he doesn't want to give away. Also, he never comes down on one side rather than the other. Have a look back at all the mage V templar threads that were around before the game came out, he was as cagey as a cagey thing with cagey bits about that.

And what's with people saying Leliana was anti-mage? I didn't get that at all!

In any case, bedtime for me. Have fun!

If you tell him to leave after he blows the chantry and side with the mages, you'll find him in the gallows when you can talk to everybody one last time. No cutscene or anything, he's just standing in line like he would even if you kept him. Just click on him and he'll ask if he can help and you can tell him the mages don't need a murderer on their side and leave or let him stay.
Side with the templars and you have to kill him in the templar hall place if you let him go. That has its own cutscene and stoof.

While working on my Hawke/Anders fanart where she runs off with him to fight with the mages.. (Viva la revolution) I started thinking about where they would be headed. Ok we'll start with the Free Marches... NOPE we're already done! The Starkhaven Circle has burned to a crisp remember? Ferelden? Nah my warden didn't have a horrible time there, they can wait.
HUZZAH! Orlais! It's like Orlais is drawing everyone in like a giant vortex of feathers, and poofy hats!

Anarya should do Merrill. She definitely would play Farmville. Also, her wall would be filled with those virus infested apps. And then there'd be Varric commenting "Daisy, you shouldn't give your passwords to anyone, I've explained this to you so many times". I'm sure Varric also took her pic and uploaded it for her, cause she doesn't know how ^_^

And, Merrill would tag Anders to all sorts of apostate themed pictures for sure.

And sign her posts "Merrill".

P.S. Is Donnic's last name really Hendyr? Did Aveline take that name? Where is this told?
