I bet Shale spends her time playing Angry Birds.
Aww for sure. I loved Shale, she was such a surprise. I thought it was going to be a lumbering derp companion with little depth. Instead Shale lit up my life as the sparkling gem that she is

I bet the mages there look like this

Oooh I hope so. This is my mesmer... she was more of a "whips and leather" mesmer apparantly. Hehe.. I can't see her being an orleasian mage however :<
This got me looking at my GW screens folder. Oh the nostalgia, I haven't played it in years.
My mesmer donned tight high boots and lingerie

And my elementalist was my fave character

Me either! I had no money to keep up with the flux of xpacs
Now I'm hoping the northern Dragon Age countries have mages that dress like that elementalist. Too cold? In guild wars most of my time was spent in the tundra, and my elementalist never seemed cold. Hehe

GW2 does look cool but I'm afraid my PC can't run it. Also the first GW was SUCH a time sink that it's probably best I don't get the second anyway.

I don't mind lack of control for narrative reasons.
It's like, it's like kinky sex. Yes, you could have freedom, but imagine how good it'll go if you just let 'em tie your hands. They might even pull out the sparkle fingers.
Bioware just doesn't give us safewords, though.
Logged on to this.

Probably not as anything more than a cameo, since he's so dead in so many games.

I liked like him, a lot. But going terrorist made me hate him. Interesting character but I can't stand acts like that.

I was wondering, what do Ander fans think of his "Abomination" status? Do you think it is a bit hypocritical how he disregards Merrill's use of Blood Magic when he himself employs a very similar use of life-force turne to spell fuel?
Yes, Anders is in denial. He's no better than Merrill. The difference is perhaps that Anders knows demons aren't good for you, so to speak, and gets pissed every time Merrill shows how ignorant she is about them. Anders wants to believe, most likely, that he isn't possessed, but in control still. Anders can't stand the idea of being a puppet of Justice's, because he hates demons and blood magic so much, and knows it's wrong.

Okay, after catching up on all I missed while sleeping, I had to say this is the bestest thing ever. I especially love sassy Izzy/Anders and too cool for you Aveline/Anders.

Re: Merrill, I always saw that as starting out with him just wanting her to avoid making his mistakes, and trying to scare her away from the blood magic. And then as time went on and he got more crazy, he sort of lost perspective.

He was lost from day one. I love the banter where he scares her. He actually admits being an abomination. And helpless. He starts to admit it after Ella, I think.
Anders: It's not a good feeling you know.
Merrill: What?
Anders: Being an abomination. I just got a taste of your future.
Merrill: I'm not that foolish. Our relationship is strictly platonic.
Anders: It's like you're trapped in your own body. Seeing out your eyes while someone else moves you like a puppet. And you're trying to scream. Move a single muscle, but there's no escape. Until you look down at the blood on your hands.
Merrill: Stop it. You're scaring me.
Anders: That's the point.

He definitely regrets what he has become - not only because he has harmed his friend Justice more than helped him, but also because he has esentially become what the Chantry fears so much. However, as Justice is a part of him now he has accepted that what was done is done - he needs to accept what he has become in order to function - otherwise he would just go mad . And as for Merill - I think it's her ignorance that makes him angry - she seems so totally oblivious about some things. His dislike of her might also be fuelled by his regret and anger at himself for making the mistakes he is warning her against - she mirrors his own stupidity.
And as for the terrorist act - you know that he is a good man - he has saved countless lives expecting no repayment or gratitude, so in order to go against that he really must have felt like there was no other way to give the mages their chance for freedom. And he will be tormented by guilt for it until the day he dies. It's up to you if that day happens now or later.
