 So today I found that in DA:O, if you tell Jowan (oh Jowan <3:crying: why couldn't you have been a companion like you were meant to???) to run when you free him from the prison, he shows up later on, helping a group of refugees - this only convinced me further that Anders's DA:A/DA2 storyline was probably partially based on what Jowan's was intended to be.

There are just so many parallels between the 2 characters. I'm pretty sure it's not just a conspiracy theory from my part.

::grumble:: Except on Xbox, from what I hear the quest is glitched and you can't do it properly.  Otherwise I would definitely let Jowan go all the time.  I love Jowan and his whiny voice.

I love Jowan! I imagine him and my Warden were best buds never allowed to play in the Circle kissing games. My Warden, because he was Irving's student, Jowan, because he was just ... Jowan.

They would have been the kids trading Magic cards to each other. If Fereldan had braces headgear, my Warden would have had 'em. And Jowan would have had massive acme and a voice that kept cracking.

The image of Jowan and The Warden in the Library at break times playing trading cards is now Canon in my head. NERD MAGES FTW. Of course, Finn would be there too, and he'd always have better cards than the others because his parents would send them to him.

And every now and then Anders would pay them to do his homework.

If it makes you feel any better, we got gypped out of Ketojan too.

We could've had 4 mages, four! One being a hulking mass of meat with stitches on his mouth. In addition, we would've had some sympathetic perspective of what Qunari mages go through when they choose to follow the Qun.

Jowan was supposed to be a companion? In DAO or DA2? Because if it's DAO, my Kane Amell is even more annoyed at him now.

Oh, Maker, this thread is a joy to catch up on over coffee in the mornings. Anders/Cullen kiss makes me so conflicted.

My Amell was the dorky, head-in-the-clouds kind that would spend all her free time in the library, trying very hard to avoid the couples groping in the stacks. Jowan and Finn being her nerdy BFFs is so right.

My Warden was suuuuuper young and suuuuuuper not hero-material.

Him and Alistair sorta bumbled along for awhile. I liked watching him shed innocent and idealism like baby fat.

HOLY**** apparently you can "turn in" Anders in chapter3 to Cullen @_@

It doesn't seem to impact the story at all, but if you go talk to cullen after anders's quest you can tell him that Anders is plotting against the chantry.

If anders is with you Cullen is(roughly)like "... right, I wont name the guy IN YOUR PARTY" and if he's not, cullen is all "we know, we're going to go apprehend him in darktown soon"
