The most tempting thing to me about a pregnancy for her would be all the hilarious conversations with Isabela.  I can imagine the two of them being both reckless and clueless about babies, with Anders being the panicky overprotective parent.

Hawke: But he likes the view
Isabela: Don't worry, we would catch him if he fell

EDIT: Also, I second (third? fourth?) Pseudo's gingy Hawke as being the mommy of their brain-bleachy mpreg baby.

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't wanting to be the center of someone's world sound just as selfish? I mean if I were in the same situation, I'd imagine having a similar mindset that nothing was more important than obtaining that freedom. For better or for worse. No, I'm in this camp, too. I expect my significant others to have purposes higher than me. If they don't, I wouldn't be interested in them.

Same with Anders. What's sad is that his purpose is nearly all consuming, self destructively so. But having a goal that's bigger than "I want to love you forever" is waaay good. I'd even think it was healthy if not for, you know, the all consuming, self destructive aspect.

It makes me think of war journalists, naturalists, military couples or people working for things like Doctors Without Borders or Amnesty International. They know that they could die doing what they do, but are still willing because they're working or fighting for a cause that's bigger than the both of them. Having someone you love and trust beside you makes it both easier and more important that you succeed. And I imagine it makes those moments when you can relax with each other even more precious.

God, I want to work with Doctors Without Borders so freaking bad.

I want to be my own hero. If I have a SO that stands in the way of that, then we were won't work out. So the idea of breaking up with Anders because he has something bigger than Hawke is just not for me, even if I'm RP'ing someone else.

Those are...actually very good points. I was always kinda hurt whenever Anders said that everything else was more important than their relationship, but now that I see y'alls explanations, it makes sense now.


Btw, PERFECT Anders relationship song: Run by Snow Patrol. Seriously, listen to it; this song screams Anders and Hawke. "Light up, light up...as if you have a choice..." <3

I'm not understanding why it's seen as bad thing. It's open. You can journey together. That doesn't mean he's Hawke's slave.  

Maybe I'm just used to the together4eva being used to demean something. But really if you end up with Fenris you can continue on your Journey. Help Anders with Mage issue, remain vicount with Fenris helping you, become a wandering mercenary. 

Maybe he just doesn't have any interest in any bigger issues. Plenty of people are like that.

I prefer Hawke going missing, Anders going off to his calling in some templar-killing magical explosion, and their oldest son becoming Justice's willing host to find his mother, protect his sisters, and keep the only parental figure he has left around permanently.

My characters' lives are so messed up. But they always get their crazy happy ending eventually.

@silver-crescent: I'm not trying to jump down your throat. But as a fan of both Fenris and Anders romances the idea that Fenris has a "together4eva" (which to me is usually meant to mock and go "happily ever after with babies and sunshine and roses") is just...bleh. 

Sure he has one. But it can also be filled with a lot of bumpy roads, heck all the LIs save Anders (and even he has one) have a "together4eva" ending.
