Aw, it's just a repository for DA fanfic. Mostly shipping and pr0nz, but there's some ordinary stuff in there too. People post prompts; others write anonymous fic (based around the aforementioned).

Behold.

Except it's DOWN at the moment, so I can't READ ANYTHING. *gnaws on*

'Cause LJ in general seems to be down (DDoS again, I bet).  *joins Ashwraith in the gnawing*

I read somewhere that Anders can get the Vengence talent for free on a quest if he doesn't have it yet. In Dissent I think. Is it true or not?

This topic goes way too fast.

Yeah, Beth and Anders always just seemed friendly to me. Bethany admires Anders and Anders thinks she's a sweet kid. So, if anything, it seemed more like a brother/sister dynamic between them. But I may be biased by having viewed it in light of my Hawke romancing Anders. So it was kind of, "Aw, he'll fit right in as your brother in law, sis."

Agreed here - for some reason I can quite easily imagine Bethany doing the whole 'be good to my sister, or I'll magic itching powder into your robes'.

I think he does.  I remember specifically not going down that tree, then somewhere in late act 2 I looked and he had points in the Vengeance side and I was like "HEY I DIDN'T DO THAT."

Yes. He gets it post-Dissent automatically.

This is true.  I always spec him with Panacea and the spirit healer talents first, and get Vengeance for free.  The first time I thought it was a bug, but I guess not...

Hmm I admit that my first playthrough I was giving Beth and Anders dirty looks, saying, "You two better not be flirting," to the screen (everyone talks at their screen, right?), but I don't know if they actually WERE flirting. I don't think that Bethany/Anders is too much of a stretch, though.

That's interesting. I wonder if there are any other cases of companions getting skills for free in the game.

Yeah, Bethany doesn't seem... intense enough or something for me to see her actually with Anders. But she definitely has her sister's back. The idea of itching powder is hilarious too.

I was replaying Act 3 today and when I left the Hawke Estate at night, Anders said something like, "It's still hard to think of this as my home."

Has anyone else gotten this dialogue? I didn't know if it was specific to the Estate, time of day, or what. I don't remember exactly what he said. This is the first time I've ever heard him say that though.

I had that happen once, I think in the same situation, Act 3 near the Estate at Night.

I got this when I entered Hightown once, but haven't been able to get it again with him.

Just a question for you Anders fans -- don't know if any of you have actually done this option or not but I am curious... my rogue is at full rivalry with Anders and during some dialogue I had the option to ask him to leave the party. I almost did it just to see what happens, but chickened out. xD

Has anyone here ever selected this? I'm wondering how it affects the 'Chantry go boom' at the end, lmao.

I've never heard that, but I don't really go to the Hawle manse at night in Act 3.

It makes me...sad, in a way. Like in his codex, Hawke is the reason he's stayed sane, but s/he's also shone a light on him that he's not entirely comfortable with. He's down on Hightown throughout the entire game, so it would make sense that he might feel awkward living there, so close to the Viscount's Keep and the Chantry.

He leaves and then comes back in Act 3 to blow up the Chantry. So...no effect, really.

Yeah, at first I thought he was talking about Kirkwall/Hightown in general. Then I realized I had just left the estate. It did seem like quite a sad statement to me too. Just another depressing thing about Act 3 I guess.

It doesn't have to be sad. It could be, like, he still can't believe he's lucky enough to live with Hawke?

No? Just me?

Well it does not have to be sad but it's Anders we are talking about.  So all the "can't believe I am living here with you!"<3:wub:

Always leaves a deep afterthought of "Till I drown us in blood and you are forced to choose to jump or to kill me with a rusty spoon in the back" :crying::unsure::crying:

I think, for me, it was mostly the way he said it. He didn't seem so much happy/disbelieving as uncomfortable. Although, that's part of the reason I asked if anyone else got it. I wanted to hear other impressions. Plus, it is very loud and stormy here, so I didn't hear too well.

I would imagine part of it is discomfort. I mean, he's living high on the hog while saying that he's fighting for the little guy and taking care of the lame and sick.

It's a pretty uncomfortable place to be in, I imagine, like selling out.

But... he's a kept man.  It's not HIS money...
