I would imagine part of it is discomfort. I mean, he's living high on the hog while saying that he's fighting for the little guy and taking care of the lame and sick.

It's a pretty uncomfortable place to be in, I imagine, like selling out.

But... he's a kept man.  It's not HIS money...

That's even worse, man. Selling out and bein' a ****.

He just planted that bomb to show everyone he still had it.

I understand your point but he does not seem like he is living so high on the hog.  Do you see Anders attending the balls of all Kirkwall or getting the latest gossip on Seneshal Bran (not that he does not know first hand).  I see him as pretty much being awake 23 hours a day helping the needy and writing pages of manifesto in between patients.

But he's sticking it to the man, man! He's being all apostate-y in public and the templars can't do anything about it.

Well, yeah. But it's the feeling he has, I imagine.

Because he's sleeping (arguably) in a warm bed and is eating (arguably again) good food. Which probably actually makes him work harder to prove that he isn't.

When you say "sticking it to the man" with that avatar, my heart just goes aflutter with revolutionary thought.

Poor little revolutionary.  I can't see him eating or sleeping much without Hawke forcing him.  Or bathing really...

Dressing up in Meredith drag would be an excellent way to stick it to the man. If only Anders had thought of this before he so hastily went off and jengad the chantry.

Or cleaning up his laundry. Or shaving. Or doing much with his hair.

Anders is unhappy about living in Hightown. He misses the underground.

You mean you did not see the posters and grafiti all over Kirkwall??  Anders is quite the artist!

I was under the impression that he wasn't needed at the clinic as much by Act 3. I don't know why I think that, but I thought it would be another nicely depressing touch given how he's deteriorating by that point and how concerned he is with his patient's safety in his care.

But my Hawke isn't comfortable in Hightown either, especially after Leandra's death. If it wasn't for Bodahn/Sandal/Orana and the constant influx of friends, she'd have tried to find someplace less conspicuous after she became Champion.

He clearly does not do nice job with his laundry.

Anders makes a comment to that effect at some point. He says he has a lot less patients, either because the refugees have moved on or because they've died.

@YamiSnuffles That's it! I knew I'd seen/heard something that gave me that impression.

Anyone else not like the responses to that line btw? Aerin thought it was one of the sweetwst things anyone had ever said to her and there wasn't really a response that fitted that

If only.

Another song that fits Anders/Hawke....maybe....on some parts....
And it is from another video game:

Bits from it:

Can't hold on much longer - but I will never let go
I know it's a one way track - tell me now how long this'll last
I'm not gonna think this way - nor will I count on others
Close my eyes and feel it burn - now I see what I've gotta do

Open your heart...and you'll see...

If it won't stop, there will be no future for us
Its heart is tied down by all the hate, gotta set him free

Alistair, in Act 3 sends a boat for any Fereldens who want to go home.

Shoulda dragged Anders with us.

I'm confused. Has it changed a lot?
Because I noticed it was suddenly Shepard. :?

God yes. Knock him out and smuggle him onto the ship. Get him away from Crazytown for a bit. A little vacation away from the Hellmouth for his mental health.
