It's amazing if he goes the Grey Warden route.  He grows up so much.  I was so goddamn proud of him I was almost tearing up.

"In war, victory, Champion.  And whatever else may come."  EPIC WINSAUCE, little bro.  EPIC.  WIN B)

He definitely beat out Anders' final dialogue.  I loved it so much.

Hawke: Don't make me tear up in front of the others, you jackass.
Carver: Rubbed onions on your collar.  Aveline's idea.

I wish there was an option for Hawke to hug him and never let go.

Oh, me too! However, I am selfish as I would also have liked to hear his thoughts on the fact that his sister's boyfriend was the one that blew up the chantry. :-P

In my game, Carver was probably WICKED PISSED that his sister's abomination boyfriend basically turned her life upside down and wrecked whatever chance she had of stability.  He probably got a good "I told you so" in on my Hawke too, since Carver and Anders never got along.

Poor unloved Carver.  I adored my resentful wackjob of a little bro.  His final speech before the last fight is just the sweetest.

I agree. His speech before fighting Orsino/Meredith was very, very good, second only to Anders' in my opinion. There's a sweetness in his voice that is both very believable and endearing. And the way he say "brother" in the end is so much different than the beginning. Kudos not only to the writing, but also to the voice actor, that did a fantastic job throughout the entire game.

*sigh* Carver went the Templar route in my first game and so the only line I got to hear was "I'm not going to kill my sister!" :(

I've always made Carver a Warden. I can't make him a templar since at that point my Mage Hawke would leave Kirkwall so her brother would never have to choose between his duty to the templars and his family.
Stupid honourable idiot still looking out for her family before herself.

When I made Craver a Warden all I got was him standing infront of
the burning down Hanged Man during The Last Straw saying "Bah these
people know nothing of sacrifice." or something to that effect. No option to drag him along kicking or screaming or anything.

I made Bethany a warden in my non-complete rogue playthrough, but managed to get Carver as a Templar in my first game and as a warden the second. He's much MUCH happier as a warden than a Templar. I'm assuming Bethany is too? Am I wrong?

I guess my third play through will definitely be a mage, then, just so I can experience Carver, among other things mage-specific. I really hated playing mages in DAO though. I hear they're way more fun in DAII but I'm so reluctant.

Gah, yes :'3 I love the Grey Warden path for him too. Really gives him a chance to grow up (and gtfo Crazyville). I legit teared up when he was all "I'M PROUD TO CALL YOU BROTHER. THAT'S GONE UNSAID TOO LONG."  Tears everywherrreeee.

Bethany is happier in the Circle. The Wardens make her bitter.

I'm the opposite.  I can't play anything but mages.  Being unable to lightning templars through the crotch makes me sadface.

Well in a few hours I am starting my first Marian Hawke file. She will try to romance Anders. Though I dunno if to go Rogue or Mage (Warrior doesnt fit her default femme fatale look).

HELP!?

Oh, that's a shame, considering what's going to happen in the circle. And also... eek, I'm guessing Anders doesn't like that much either.

Bethany wants a normal life. Becoming a Warden takes away any chance she could ever have for that, so she becomes quite bitter. It's disturbing.

Yeah, but it's not like she gets annulled. Unless you let it happen, you miserable sororicidal monster.

Bethany eventually sort of seems at peace with being a Warden. But she's a mage, heck being a Warden will probably be more normal than being a mage in the post-Anders world.

Bethany basically switches off to Hawke right until the end if you make her a Warden. The codex says that she never writes to Hawke, only Leandra, and when you meet her in the Deep Roads with Nathaniel she isn't at all pleased to see Hawke. She gets very cold and unemotional to protect herself, and seeing her little sister brush her off like that broke my Hawke's heart.

Mage.  Magey magey mage mage.  There is something enormously satisfying about being an apostate in Kirkwall, thumbing your nose at the templars.

I agree. And make sure you equip the Apostate Courage staff. The one with the skull on top of it. How no one figured out I was a mage is beyond me :police:

Now I just picture mage Hawke biting their thumb and templars being all DO YOU BITE YOUR THUMB AT US, SERAH?

I read somewhere that Anders can get the Vengence talent for free on a quest if he doesn't have it yet. In Dissent I think. Is it true or not?

This topic goes way too fast.

This is true.  I always spec him with Panacea and the spirit healer talents first, and get Vengeance for free.  The first time I thought it was a bug, but I guess not...

D:

ZOMG, me too then. Doh, I wish I hadn't put any points there now. :P

are you serious? i wasted those skill points then :pinched:

I thought Bethany comes to resent the Circle as well? I've never sent her there however. Just going by what I've heard.

I wanna try carver as a gw, but gid I love him as a Templar. I feel like he's giving more up for Hawke's crazy ass. It's got that sad mo' if "you would fight your own brother?" in it, too.
