It took a while for me to get used to his new voice. At first it bugged me. Not in a "rawr crap voice do not want!" way, but in a "argh ragh this is not what I knew and loved!" way. It grew on me. But it did take a while for me to actually recognize the voice itself. Few times random people started speaking the same time he did and I couldn't tell which voice belonged to who without subtitles on.

Same, it took me a while and every time I heard Cullen talk I was like "Anders that's how you should sound." But now I actually prefer it. It seems quite apt really as his voice is kinda like an in between for Ellis and the guy who did Justice. I think they made the right choice keeping Greg Ellis for Cullen.

At the moment I'm about 75% sure that Cullen is going to come back as a party member and probably an LI in DAIII. He felt too much weaved into the plot now to just drop. If I get my facts straight, he'd also technically be the highest ranking in power in Kirkwall now with Meredith and the Grand Cleric dead.

Er - I'm not taking Hawke becoming Viscount into effect here. I may need to rethink that.

Bioware has been waving Cullen's virginity in our faces for 2 games and 1 exp pack now, it's about time we got the chance to corrupt him.

Agreed!! I wanted an option to flirt with him, and liked the little bit they threw in if your warden had been a mage. I actually thought they improved his looks in DA2, too.

edit: Gahhh, top! Have an Awakening-Anders-In-DAO, I don't have anything else uploaded.

Someone needs to explain the appeal of Cullen to me.  All I got was massively creeped out in DA:O, especially since I was playing an Amell warden.  I liked him a lot better in DA2, but...meh.  Maybe virginal church boys are just not my thing.

...but wait, I romanced Alistair.  Balls.

I swear, if we get to romance Cullen in DA3 I will die of happy. Truly. Three perfect LIs. Four if you count Alistair (which I don't because my Cousland isn't my canon playthrough). They certainly ramped up the sexy enough for him in DA2 to send us all fangirl squee-ing. And I can totally see him becoming disillusioned with the Templars and running off to be a renegade somewhere after what happened at the Gallows.

PLUS WHICH MORE GREG ELLIS, which is never a bad thing.

It would almost make up for no more Anders.

Lol. As awesome/ hilarious as that is, I still can't let go of "creepy as hell" DA:O Cullen.

Cullen: I just want you to know... I love you.
PC: I love you, too.
Cullen: No, no... I REALLY love you!
PC: Er... and I love you, too.
Cullen: You don't understand! I think about you all the time, every waking
moment! I look at you and I... I want to touch your skin! I want to
brush your hair!
PC: I don't...
Cullen: Ever since I saw you in the mage tower I wanted to protect you. Keep you somewhere safe. FOREVER.
PC: ...
PC: ...awkward.

But you know, what with Anders and his likely Hawke shrine... and underwear stealing... I just don't know anymore.

Cullen appeal for me - DAO - face morph, mage romance mod.
DA2 - oooh, sexier! And dedicated. Dedication is sexy on a man.

Well, to each her own, I suppose :D  He's definitely cute, but I can't get over his epic awkward in the mage origin and his crazypants creepy during Broken Circle.

Yet I'm willing to put up with much more crazypants from Anders.  Go figure.

Hmm, good question for all the DA romance fans to answer.

For me - Zevran, Fenris, Anders. Though Leliana is pretty close to being added in there. LOVE her voice.

As Hawke says to Varric,  "when have I given you the impression I'm turned off by crazy?" *grin*

Three LIs - Zev, Anders, Cullen. Although Alistair is up there, he didn't make it into my canon playthrough because Alim was too uber awesome not to be The Hero of Ferelden.

If we're doing top three LIs of all time, it'd be Atton Rand, Anders, and Garrus Vakarian.  Atton and Anders are still duking it out for top spot, Valen Shadowbreath gets honorable mention.

If we're doing just Dragon Age, I'd say my tops are Anders, Zev, and Alistair.

I thought he was a bit of a creeper in Origins but a little cute in how Jowan quips "Someone liiikes you!" and he just runs away if you try to flirt with him.
I felt for him when I went back to the Circle but never sided with him except in one playthrough out of about 6, but never thought much past it once that was done and over.

After I got past my surprise of him not being a psycho mage killer the epilogue claims he became, I figured he was pretty reasonable after what happened. He's still extreme, but he has a reason to be. He's downright sane compared to Meredith(who also had a good reason to be wary, agree with her or not) and others like Kerras and Alrik, even if he doesn't outright shoot down the idea of his "Tranquil Solution".

If you do side with templars in one run through, he doesn't want to kill a small group of about 3 that surrender to you and disobeys Meredith in favor of your stance to let them live. I believe he claims that they were his responsibility too, I'll have to play it again.
And he defends you no matter the situation, so that got him some more brownie points from a lot of people methinks.

And who knows what he thinks after the incident in the Gallows.

I think he's broken enough by now to reach LI status.

I'm among those that don't see the appeal in Cullen. Each to their own, of course, and it would be neat if those that want him get him as a LI, but I... no, thanks. The personality, the looks, the hair; none of it is the least bit attractive for me. It was the same with Nathaniel, I just never got the fascination.
I guess Anders just flipped all my fangirl switches, and there's none left for anyone else.

...except Sten. Mmm.

Oh dear, where/when was this said?

But yes, honestly, I get an Edward Cullen vibe from him if a romance was made. Creepy obsessed.

The man is still hanging over female!mage Warden after a couple years.

I like how future LI need a certain broken quality to them or tragic feel.  We went from Chantry boy Virgin to hot broody, rebels in one game.

Also all time fave LI was Valen from Hordes of the Underdark.

Oh I thought the Cullen thing at the mage tower was adorable. And I actually felt for him during the Broken Circle - that was a good piece of drama there. I hated him for a while because of the epilogues and I actually didn't realise we are COMPLETELY disregarding those until AFTER my DA2 first playthrough. When I heard about him being in Kirkwall and when I saw him (and maker he IS waaay too good looking compared to anyone in the game) I was instantly attracted but then I was like "Hold on he is a crazy ass templar who slaughters mage students DIE" and convinced myself to despise him all the way until the very end.

I'd be happy to get him as a LI in the future, he needs to get laid by a mage I'd say. It makes for a wonderful irony.

It's just that right now nobody could ever seem better to me than Anders, he is so gloriously flawed and tormented he's almost perfect. True love material

That's a quote from the old DA:O Cullen romance thread (more than a year ago lol), which I have because we used to joke about Cullen being of the underwear sniffing, watching you sleep variety in the old Zev thread.

Honestly, I could go for someone saner after the emotional roller coaster that was DA2.  Not boringly normal, just...not a wackjob.  Is that too much to ask for?

Though if we're outside Kirkwall, maybe everyone will be less crazy.  And if that damned lyrium idol turns up again, I will punch someone.

Cullen's got that awkward and shy thing going on that it's really cute. I admit I fell for him, but the level of fangirlism that he receives also turns him off for me in that Sephiroth or Albert Wesker kinda way.

He almost redeemed himself with that "those ah, young ladies" line though. Guh.

Cullen sort of creeped me out (not exactly in a bad way) in DA:O, but I really liked him in DA2, although part of me was all, "Seriously, people, if Cullen is the voice of reason for the templars now, you guys are craaaaaazyyyyyyy." Still don't want to romance him.

Although, if you told me a year ago I would be ALL OVER the Anders romance, I would've laughed in your face, so who knows.

Well, if we're all timing, I have to agree on Atton, still Zev, and Thane. Though that Tiefling from the NWN expansion, what's his name... can never remember...
