Awww, how cute! It almost makes me forgot the whole Chantry thing. I let him live at the end btw -  what can I say, I have a pathetic weakness for blonde mages. :P

Oh, wow! COOL!   Deneb is my fave, and would do exactly what you said (clean the house or go grocery shopping while he's asleep, lol).

Moar Anders in celebration of completing the game a 2nd time (no black threads):
....
And then I killed him. :crying:

How do you have him not change clothes? Just by not helping him on his last quest? The black outfit is super sexy, but I recall that being the most ominous thing my first playthrough. It just confirmed my suspicion that he'd done something very bad.

Finally I've beaten the game and now I'm ready to collect my bags and move into this thread.

The ending was a strong one. Anders bested Morrigan with her dark offer. Luckily, I love him to death and don't believe that vengeance (not the spirit) has a point, so I kicked poor Sebastian out of our band of awesome and in the end was rewarded with a lovely confession from Anders. About children born free.

Also, mr. Revolution won my heart quite easily with his complete devotion to his cause. I love how he says that there's nothing else inside him but this desire to bring freedom to mages and that if you strip off his hatred for templars and Justice, there'll be nothing left. Poor fellow. He lost his old self completely and made himself into more a banner than a person. I feel so sorry for the good old Anders from Awakening, but I love the new Anders as well. Though I disagree with what he did. I liked Ethina. And I admire her courage. But I see why Anders did what he did. And I always thought it was funny that his name and the name of the Maker's bride sound so alike, and after playing Awakening almost a year ago I suggested that he may repeat her fate one day. Looks like my mind went into the right direction, though I wasn't expecting THIS outcome.

I supported mages with all my limbs but when they all started to turn into blood mages/abominations I felt like: "S****, uncle Gamlen was right!" Blood magic was my favourite specialty in Origins, but after DAII I just can't pick it anymore. This game is so much darker. And I like it.

I just wish Anders could kiss my Hawke for the last time in the end speech, just like Fenris or Isabela

I wonder if Ms. Helper has an opinion on the lack of an endgame kiss. Perhaps she thought it might have been too soon?  Or perhaps Anders was not feeling particularly amorous, what with the weight of what he had done mixed in with the others looking right at them?  I'm pretty sure he was well aware of everyone's feelings about him.

In hindsight I can kinda see why, it's just a little sad.

I think Merrill gets an end game kiss too.  D:  Only Anders misses out!

I'm sure my 1st Hawke would rather punch Anders than kiss. But she will forgive him after the battle, he will just look at her with those eyes, she will sigh and say: "Ok, get into my sleeping bag". Love is so forgiving.

You guys really wanted the opportunity to kiss the newly minted terrorist? O_o

I think an endgame kiss would have defeated... so many points.

Very true.  And other party members would have likely been disgusted.  I did not want to make the decision to spare his life and drag him along seem like it was made out of a fit of passion.  It might have taken a little while for my character to warm up to him again.

Hawke certainly was smiling a lot at him when she said she'd be a fugitive with him.  Maybe that was enough, lawl.

I guess that kiss could be a little out of place.

I'd rather slap him and hug him just after that.. but oh well.

Okay. Not reading all 60+ pages. Tried, said screw it.

First playthrough, went in blind. Not knowing ANYTHING. mage-sympathizer rogue Lady Hawke, all set to fall head over heels for Anders...Could NOT believe what he did. But, she ran off with him in the end. And yes, OMFG that kiss...

2nd playthrough-Templar-supporting apostate(Yeah, that's not a crazy character) Lady Hawke. Wanted to Romance Fenris. I...I just...wow... I love Anders, don't get me wrong... but the 3 kisses you get with Fenris... The glowy first kiss, and the kiss at the end, in the courtyard.. oh god.... I thought that kiss with Anders was intense... Fenris DEFINES intense.

Doesn't help I LOVE Gideon Emery's voice....

I think the lack of kiss was a good idea. I mean... shouldn't Hawke be mad at him, in the very least? Even if not for the Chantry, but for the emotional manipulation leading up to it?

Haha, indeed.  Some things are more important than their love, after all, he did say it himself.  I think he would have known what he was in for.  There will have to be a few stern talkings to as they sit in their hide out or while they are taking down Templars.

With Oghren, Anders was my favorite character in Awakening. Having said that I didn't love this new psychotic version.

It's like two friends who like and respect each other but frankly, just don't shouldn't be in the same ZIP code since they don't bring out the best in each other.  They were both far happier and saner apart.  Justice warped Anders and Anders warped Justice.  And only our Wardens would know... Hawke's got no clue.

Hawke was mad, certainly. But a hug would have been a nice way for him to show that he appreciated her support, love and mercy. Throw us a bone, Bioware! We already feel bad enough for letting the guy go! Posted Image

I agree that a kiss would have been out of place at that point. With my Hawke, our relationship was a bit strained after the emotional blackmailing. Get to him blowing up the Chantry and she certainly wasn't feeling affectionate. Honestly I didn't even start forgiving him until he started talking about a better future for mages. Then I was just like, *sigh* okay, I remember why I fell for you in the first place you passionate fool.

That said, I wouldn't have minded a small touch on the cheek or hand or something.

What I absolutely LOVE about the ending - how Varric finishes the tale, makes a pause and adds about Anders staying with Hawke and that stylized picture appears. It's better than all kisses and kittens because it makes me feel like they have a future despite all that taint and spirit possession stuff. It does feel like happy ending to me.

He didn't even expect to live, much less be spared. If he had dared go anywhere within Hawke's personal space unprompted I'd have flipped a table and hoped I could murder knife him right there for being out of character and deluded. You don't get to murder bystanders and blow up the third option and then run back (in any capacity) to the person you had all but left in order to do so, and he seemed to know that. Which is why I'm pleased that the most romantic thing you get is a very cause-centric sentiment.

It didn't seem like a pick-up-where-you-left-off ending for a relationship :\\ Maybe back to square one-and-a-half... different opinions for different Hawkes I guess but that's how I feel about it.

I didn't say I thought it was a pick up where you left off kind of ending. I had been fully prepared to kill him until Merrill convinced me to spare him. I guess what I meant, is I would have liked the option for Hawke (not Anders) to show she still didn't want to murder him even if she hadn't entirely forgiven him. Honestly, I think a small touch would have been better to show Hawke was still mad than smiling and saying they'll run off together. I would have prefered no smiling at all. Instead I would have prefered a pissed off looking Hawke who says she's not going to abandon him now.

I dunno. I didn't get much sleep and I don't think I'm articulating myself well.
