..snip...

I actually stopped playing Awakenings and didn't finish it for a long time because I was pissed I couldn't cheat on Alistair with the sexy mage. Why did Bioware put the sexy mage in the game if I couldn't make a pass at it???

They wanted to get his rabid fanbase all hot and bothered before DAII. It's all a conspiricy, I swear.

Mind you, in my own little happy world of happytime, my Cousland was too busy having an angsty affair with Nate to really get interested in Anders, not that she [I] didn't think about it.

*Wipes away drool.*

I have a sudden urge to play Awakening again...

Edit: That said, I did do a playthrough with a male Amell (who wanted nothing more than to jump Anders, repeatedly.)

Funny how that works out in the end... *Looks at Hawke.*

I think Leliana was the best LI in Origins.

Oh Leliana

Dat accent

Apparently I'm in a "rhapsodize about BW love interests" kind of mood today. But I Image IPB Leliana, too. She's my second most romanced companion in Origins (and has a terrible tendency to snatch Wardens from Alistair) and I don't even know why. I've been debating breaking my "Never playing Awakening again" rule so that I can finish my Amell who loved Lel best and import it into DA2.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I still think the DA:O romances are perfectly lovely in their own right, on par with the DA2 ones. Truth be told, Alistair and my Amell are probably the best fit out of any of my characters (Anders and Fenris are both a bit too somber at times to be in total sync with my Hawke).

My City Elf or Amell being able to get with Awakening!Anders would of ended the world. In a big boom. No pun intended.

But I need to start a new Origins game with a loner Warden. No romance, not evil... Just a nice, compassionate guy(or gal, haven't decided) who helps people in the best way he can. Someone who, after it all just kinda... Fades away eventually.

Until he/she goes off and does whatever it is he's doing at the end of DAII.

But I just can't decide on the damn Origin or gender. <_<

I don't think I'll ever be able to play Origins/Awakening again. I already beat them 4/2 times respectively. After DA2, going back to a silent protagonist and that AWFUL combat is incredibly unappealing.

A charmingly naive dwarf noble or dalish elf boy who firmly believes they need to get back to Orzammar/their clan and start popping out little mini-mes for great justice?

8D hahaha so it's ridiculous that some people argues that romances in Origins are better written than that of DA2.
I'm totally all over for the victory of DA2 romances.

If only there's been actual romances in Awakenings...

I enjoyed Nathaniel and Velanna's "romance", it's a shame it didn't lead anywhere.

Not just the accent. The voice! I used to listen to her talk...and talk...for hours and hours  She was a great storyteller, mainly because her voice was so pleasant to listen.

Like when Merrill tells the story about that dog in DA2 I'm bored after 10 seconds <_<

... ngl, Nathaniel Howe is my biggest unrequited crush in the DA-verse. Ugh. He was the Brood King before Fenris even entered the scene. But I liked how he mostly got over his broodiness, too, and was really an honorable and all-around good guy despite the bad rep.

I still pine for him...

I just wondered How Howe from Origins had such a gorgeous son like Nathaniel.

My last Warden couldn't manage to get over the fact that he was a Howe, the family responsible for her own's demise... even if he wasn't there, she was unfairly biased. To the extent that he got the cruddiest gear she could find for him.

I totally started shipping Anders/Sigrun after playing. The idea was always annoyingly cute in my head.

I am glad I got bits of Carver/Merrill before Carver decided to get tainted. Or go to the templars. Or die. She was worried about him when he became a templar(i know she has a similar conversation about bethany going to the circle but the conversation about carver is cuter I DISPUTE YOUR CAUSE)

@Valentina X

I was thinking about rolling aother Dalish Boy.
I always pictured the dalish male warden to be rather sweet, actually. Except for the one I actually made, he was a little sh*t.

Man I was going into the game fully expecting to be a jerk to him, but he actually (besides Anders that is) is one of the easiest to befriend, and you can still yell at him about his father to some extent.  He really gets over that crap fast and I was like  That voice was really hard to resist, too.

Eh, I had to play subtitled. Bandaged ears -
long story. Maybe that's why I found it so hard to be nice - note to
self. Play again and listen for ear-candy.

I liked Merrill's stories. Especially that one about how Fen'Harel fooled the other elven gods.

Nathaniel was well written, but I wish he would have held onto his anger just a littttle bit longer. I parcel out his personal quest so that he stays surly for at least one main quest. My Cousland feeds off of his hatred, at least until they're both like..."Oh, so you're pretty awesome. Let's be friends?"

And, in my head!canon where my Cousland and Anders lived happily ever after, Nate is in constant danger of being sex ambushed by the two of them. I don't even think they're that attracted to him, but it's Nate and, therefore, fun to try to get one up on him.

Male Mahariels are the best! I hate playing dudes in DA, but my Mahariel was so much fun and could have easily been just a good guy who eschews romance but is friends with everyone.

Both of those are jarring. The combat is so sloooooooooooow.

So, so true. I spared him on my "canon" playthrough because my Cousland believes "the sins of the father should not damn the son" and all that crap. Glad I did. I <3 him so.

Amusingly enough, I also had a thing for Justice (mind you I totally modded him to look a little handsome, while still... dead) which really didn't help matters. I can just blame my Warden for the mess that is DAII. Dammit Shayce, *points to Anders/Justice* that is YOUR fault.

"There's nothing wrong with wanting something beautiful [love], Justice."

Dammit.

I can live with slow combat but ........... mute warden? I tried DAO for some testing purposes and mute warden just killed me at the spot.

Yes... never bothered me before DA2 though...

I still feel like I need to do it one more time and try Zevran though.

Hah, I can't even remember what the story was about. She didn't have any emotion in it at all, and she didn't really tell it well. It felt like she was reading it from a book. If Varric told it however, well... ;)

... My heart just got broken by hearing people's claims, "Anders is ugly." I must be blind because I've never though that Anders is ugly.

Edit: There are many mods that replace Anders faces, but I've yet seen any thing that fits Anders better than the default. Geez, I love his nose and CC can't make such nose.
