Ugh.

I shouldn't be surprised, gorgeous art cannot stop the people commenting on it just to say how much they hate him/knifed him/complain he's gay/whiny/weird fanfic of how they wanted to gut him/complain about the game/we've heard it all by now.

Doesn't matter what people feel for him, they are FEELING alot. The emotional impact of the character is so incredible, the writers should be really proud.

And I dislike when people comment with negative stuff because it's SO pointless. LIke if you don't like it, unless you're providing constructive criticism or something, just don't comment.

Oh. Whether people like him or not in general I don't really care. I have my own opinions of him and how it all played out. I like to actually see opinions beyond "lol i mardar knifed him!" don't get me wrong.

But comments on pieces of art like this and quite a few others I have seen, not just of Anders/Dragon Age - that's what I was complaining about.

Yeah you're right, it's disrespectful to the artist. But you shouldn't be surprised - people who didn't invest enough thought in the story to at least UNDERSTAND why Anders did what he did, probably dont invest thoughts in fanart enough to appreicate it, either

I agree, he wasn't very attractive at first and I thought I would be romancing Fenris my first playthrough.....jokes on me.  He pulled those sad eyes and his "sexy tortured look" and I was all   The further along the story got the more attractive he got.  Its the flaws that make him seem "Real".  DAA Anders reminds me of Barny from HIMYM, DA2 Anders is a tragic figure, and I am a sucker for tragic endings.

Alistairs, definitely, but having the camera cut between the two of them during King Alistair's cameo shows just how good Anders has it.

I will admit that Anders not being beautiful has been one of the main reasons I love him. I think he's attractive and sexy, but he's not handsome like Bastard Prince Handsome is handsome. He's also so expressive, especially his eyes, and that makes him even more appealing.

What bugs me about Alistair isn't whether or not he's ugly but he just doesn't look like Alistair. His nose and eyes look completely different.
I can understand changing how Anders looks - he did look an awful lot like Alistair in the eyes but their jawlines were very different, one thing setting them apart. He looks more like his own character now, in my opinion.

I can't say anything about Zev because of the new elf design. I think they brought over as much of him as they could in his face.

But Alistair.... WHERE IS YOUR THEIRIN NOSE?

Idk, its like they tossed the cameos in at the last minute.  Alistair and Zevran both look just weird.  Zevran looks like an alien, not even like a new styled elf, and Alistiar's face looked unfinished to me, like the details weren't added.

To be honest, I knew Anders was going to be angsty from the very beginning (I knew about the Chantry).  And I HATE angsty romances.  With a white-hot bitter passion in my cold shriveled heart.

I was all prepared to go after Fenris.  Albeit reluctanctly.

Anders had me at, "I've made this a place of sanctuary."

Also... when looking for dialog, I found this:

• Anders: Do you ever miss Ferelden?
• Aveline: Of course! It was home. I would never have left willingly.
• Aveline: But I'm not going to be my father and spend my life trying to live a memory.
• Anders: I didn't think I'd give it a second thought once I was gone. I mean, what did Ferelden ever do for me?
• Anders: But I do. I think about it. There's something here that just doesn't feel right.
• Aveline: You mean how mages are treated?
• Anders: No... I think there's not enough dog ****.

I could get used to the new Zevran, if his face was more proportional.  He's all chin.  At least he has the same voice, so with both Alistair and Zevran I kind of squint and pretend.

His nose shines like JUSTICE is sharp as a diamond. I get a kick out of that nose, for some reason.

Okay, since it has been brought up... I didn't find Awakening Anders attractive. At all. Or Alistair really. I thought they were both good looking guys, but they did nothing for me. Usually videogame guys don't do it for me, with a few exceptions. But DA2 Anders is hot. I loved his hair, his outfit, his whole model in general.

I kinda miss the earring. It'd of been nice to see some of old Anders there in such a way.

But the hair? If I was Hawke, I'd totally be pulling on that thing everytime there was a chance. Like one of those annoying boys back in 1st grade that did nothing but pull your braid because he could.
