That scene redeems itself for me in its entirety because Hawke slides down the handrail. Hawke shuns your stairs, and if Hawke wants to slide he/she damn well will.

Not that I'm easily pleased or anything.

THIS. I died laughing when I saw it.

I had to watch a video to see that LOL.

The only part I ever noticed was Anders flying down the steps and hoping Carver didn't trip over himself.

I have to facepalm everytime at Hawke and Varric when we find that idol.

Anders: It's definitely magic... and not the good kind.

*Hawke picks it up and gives to Varric*
Varric: Lul nice Hawke. HEY BARTRAND WE CAN SELL THIS!*throws to brother*

Oh, you two.

Hawke: THE DOOR!

Me:  /facepalm

Wait does FHawke do this too? If so I can't believe I never noticed that...I'm going to claim I was distracted by Varric and his chest hair or something.

So. I spent this morning catching up on my homework and now that I'm free to play my mage playthrough....my BF steals the XBox to watch Dexter.
Crap.

And yet Anders can't sense the idol when it's on Meredith's back, within a couple of feet of him in a few scenes.

BLEARGH

I'm convinced this is some kind of plot induced IQ drop. Like, they enter a derp zone.

I totally agree on the awesomeness of this. Is it only for snarky Hawkes? Because snarky male!mage!Hawke is really kind of a huge queen.

I mean that in the best way possible.

No, Hawke in general ain't got time for your fool stairs.

Really? That kinda makes me sad.

I was hoping it was just my Hawke Solo.

Oh god, I just watched a playthrough on youtube just to see that scene, I haven't noticed on my first (and so far only) run! Hilarious XD

That makes me kinda sad that people are saying he's ugly, I disagree entirely though. Sure, he's not Hollywood pretty-boy but that's boring. I like that Anders is cute in a kind of quirky scruffy way - and that smirk of his Image IPB

I haven't noticed it yet, either. I'm on my third playthrough now and finishing up Act 1, and I'm going to have to watch for it.

Going to other threads on these boards just makes me tired. Sick and tired. I have no idea how the writers deal with wading through it all.

One of the things I love about his face is that there's nothing "zomg super special" about it. He's a normal guy with very nice eyes and a nice smirk to top it off.

Then again, my Shepard romanced Garrus, so maybe I'm not the perfect person to comment on LI's looks lol

@Thenyxie: LOL

I don't get very many lines when I or anyone else die, but there's some. Including Anders.

Ohh you read my mind!

And pff this man! - I don't know how he does it. And in the beginning I thought his dialogue was a bit monotone and way too emotion-deprived. And then came the trmbles and breaks and shouts and kissing sounds and....

Yikes, I have to catch up on the pages I missed while sleeping but I had to dredge this up to comment on it.

I was really impressed by the emotions in Howden's voice.  At first it annoyed me that it really didn't seem that special or different and tended to blend in with other NPCs.  But when you listen to him during dialogues... he is seriously a master at including little emotional touches and things like that.  The way his voice trembles during Dissent, when he says "No, this is their place, we cannot..."  UNF.

So now I'm all kinds of a Howden fan and he's now officially Anders to me.  He does an excellent job of expressing Anders's compassion and emotions beyond just what we see in dialogue, and the character is way better for it.

I only noticed the slide Hawke did when going through my screenshots. I took it because Anders looked like he was about to fall down the stairs, then I saw my Hawke being all 'VROOM STAIRS ARE FOR COMMON PEOPLE'.

Also, that pic = ~~IMAGINATION~~

I've complained at the genericness of Howden's voice, but the scene after Dissent when he's sorting his belongings makes me tear up every single time because he conveys so much there (and the animators did an excellent job with Anders' expressions in that scene and the kissing scene).

This sums up my feelings exactly! At first I was pretty "meh" but as I played the game more I was really impressed. That whole scene in Dissent when he kills/nearly kills the mage girl (I forget her name...), there was so much emotion in his voice my little heart was breaking for him. Poor Anders Image IPB

I'm going to guess the same way anyone deals with response to their work, be it artistic, scientific, romantic, whatever:

Heavy drinking.

its generic compared to Fenris true. But as I said before i think Gideon Emery's voice is too rich. I love his voice... I could listen to it all day but its bigger than Fenris... its upstaging him. Where Howden's voice makes Anders a whole. It fits.

Do I make sense?

YESSSSS, THIS!

As soon as I saw that, all I could think of was that Garrus fanart where he's skateboarding away from an explosion saying "SICK NASTY!"  I'm not sure why, but regardless it gave me awesome mental images of Garrus and Hawke hanging out.  And that makes me happy and requires no further justification.

by 99hunters, who's probably floating around here somewhere.

Daaaaaaw. Now I have a little fanfic going in my head where Hawke's babying a sick Anders and I bet that boy gets sick ALL the time considering the conditions he lives in. I also bet Anders is the type of person who takes horrible care of himself. Poor Hawke, doctors always make the worst patients.
