@A_HOWDZ tweeting to @stephenfry about Anders. My Twitter feed has obviously reached the final stage of ascendancy. The gay wizard uprising can be expected any day now.

OH GAWD I need to see this! Can you repost what he tweeted, pretty please?

I'll give you Anders in return!

@A_HOWDZ @stephenfry Hello fellow Fable 3 voice over, can you RT this?http://www.guardian....-gay-characters

Nothing important, but it amuses me given that Fry was the whole reason I started on Twitter in the first place. Old loves and new coming together in perfect synchronicity.

WHO DOES HE VOICE IN FABLE 3?!  (Adam Howden, not Stephen Fry.)  It's driving me batty.

How exciting! I've always wanted to witness an uprising! (Admittedly of a middle class well-spoken variety, but still!)

Yes ... If Hawke is always friendly/diplomatic to Anders then Anders falls into Hawke.

Hm, not sure. On my aggressive pro-templar Hawke she never flirted with him and when she went to talk to him in Act 2 he gave her the whole 'For three years I lay aching for you' speech. It was actually how I myself fell in love with Anders. That playthrough was supposed to be friendship-romancing Fenris but then the panting happened.

Yeah, really. I prefer to play a separate person from myself. Makes it easier to step away and be like "Yeah, this
isn't me," especially when it comes to issues of sexuality and romance. I guess my version of wish-fullfillment is playing an interesting character who I like, as opposed to just... myself. If I were truly playing myself I'd have never made it out of Lothering anyway, haha.

Exactly.  I live as myself all day every day; it gets kinda boring.  I'd rather meet/create new and interesting people.

And in real life, I wouldn't get within 10 miles of Anders and he'd be the kind of guy I'd warn all my friends away from.  The dude is undoubtedly messed up and has way too much drama.   But in a video game, my PCs can go down in flames with him and I can call it romantic.  ^____^

Wow.  Okay, this post is (most of) my feelings written down.

I would never go for Anders in real life.  Much too needy.  But like leggy said, my Hawke went with him on the run, spared his life, will allow Sebastian to burn Kirkwall, and she'll be away with her mage.

I'll take stable men in real life, thank you. About the worst thing my husband could be accused of is corny jokes.

But I wanted to save poor clingy, creepy, angsty, tortured Anders so bad. I got excited during the Justice quest. Yay, I get to separate him from Justice! Huh... he seems like he's lying. Nah.... he wouldn't do that. Wait. No. Yes... NO. NOOOO. YOU BASTARD!
(walked away for 5 minutes)
I still love you.

In real life? Hells no. I'd spray him with a fire extinguisher and run.

By the way, do you guys find the nurses in Anders's clinic incredibly creepy? There are three of them, and they all have the exact same face, hair and outfit, and they are ALWAYS THERE.

They creep the hell out of me. But I guess creepy nurses to go with the creepy doctor. XD

All the women in the clinic are exactly the same. So are all the men (with the horrible worm hair). It's... disturbing.

@obnoxiousgas What with the clones, and the suspiciously covered body in the corner, I'm pretty sure Anders has more in mind than just blowing up the Chantry.

CLONE WARS: THE GAY WIZARD UPRISING.

You know, all this talk about Anders changing so much got me thinking... him jumping Hawke the first chance he gets is actually the best kind of continuity to the character from DAA as could possibly be. He makes it explicitly clear in DAA that he's a player with a one-track mind. He basically says as much in DA2 (at least to LadyHawkes; I recall the DudeHawke convo being a bit more emotional), but then mentions that he has changed because of Justice. Or at least is less inclined to give into the temptation.

Also, Graudian commentary section never fails to amaze me. For such a liberal newspaper they got an army of douches hounding the website...

Rule 1 of staying sane on the internet: NEVER READ THE COMMENTS :D.

(of course, rule 2 is never go on a forum, but hey, I've never pretended to be particularly sane)

... I never noticed the covered body before, and I now have the (uh, completely inexplicable) urge to go hide somewhere. Anders, WHY  ARE  YOU  SUCH  A  SHIFTY  CREEP  and why can't I quit you do I love you for it?

On the other hand, I am terribly pro-gay wizard uprising. And gay wizards in general.

The difference I see is that Anders seems like he's searching more for an emotional point rather than just a psychical just for fun thing with Hawke like I'd see old!Anders doing.
I thought it was strange when he says "Maybe a year ago we could of had something" since I never saw him as someone who wanted that. I think he even says it reminds him of being trapped if you import a married Cousland.

Oh, in Awakening. Silly me. I thought in DAII. Funny that Alistair calls his Cousland wifey 'old ball and chain' too. I was kind of offended for my Warden. :P

Oh god, the "you're just jealous!" comment about Varania being a mage..... Dude. Seriously. NO. He's lucky I like him so much, lol.

Hey guys I know this is old stuff, but I can't keep up with this forum inbetween running around to print essays and meet editors!

I always thought what Anders meant was that fenris WANTED to get the lyrium tatoos because he didnt have magic himself and was jealous of his sister. And then he forgot.  Which makes perfect sense, it' probably true

Except you don't know he wanted them until after you spare the sister and she tells him so. I suspect he fought for it to get his mom and sister freed more than anything else, personally, as that is what he used his "boon" for.

No, I'm pretty sure Anders is just being a jerkface.

Yep Ander is always jerk/meanie to Fenris.

Agreed. Fenris, like all the companions (except my beloved Aveline) has his flaws, but I do believe he only had good intentions when he competed for the tattoos. Anders is just a bit of a tool.

I don't quite know if this was posted yet, but Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation) wrote a collumn on the romance in Dragon age 2, and he also romanced Anders. It's pretty hilarious, worth a read, and he pretty much played the same way I did, and has an odd infatuation with Anders like myself that I can't really describe :3

His description of Anders is hilarious xD

Also, I now have the MAKER NOOO Sparta Remix as my ringtone. I'm also considering having Anders' 'SUCK ON A FIREBALL' as my text alert. Am I a bad person?
