Cullen is actually a mage in disguise. He's part of the mage underground and everything.

Guyzz LJ is back up so once again I urge you to go read this fic http://dragonage-kin...?thread=6982832
You will thank me later. XD

Oh my gods how did I live without this fic before now?

I will never be able to romance anyone besides Anders now so thanks for that.

O.O

Oh god.  This fic.  It is amazingsauce.

It's just what I needed after my FemHawke and Anders, who are considerably more depressing in their post Act-3 fanfiction.  Want more NAO.

What sort of little, interlude scene would you like to see between Hawke and Anders in Act III?

Just anything, really. But all of Act 3 is his downward spiral.  And that fight over his quest.  Hard to imagine anything romantic taking place there.

Cullen is definitely aware that Anders is a mage (I know, and he was being so subtle with his "we're not all blood mages!" and other such protests) by Act ... I want to say two, but it could be three, as he calls him such in conversation. But he doesn't arrest him because Dragon Age 2, so everyone conveniently overlooks mages except when they don't. (I mean seriously, I wasn't even romancing him that playthrough so there isn't even a 'hiding behind the Champion' explanation. Cullen could have quite easily gone yoink and taken him away!)

Alternatively: Cullen is the worst Knight-Captain ever.

Nah... he's really working for The Warden.  Or at least... MY Warden. ;)

If you take Anders in every main quests, then you will see that templars (including Cullen and Meredith) do know that Anders is an apostate. Meredith says that Anders being a friend of Hawke is the only thing that keeps templars away from taking him to Gallow.

Suddenly, it all makes sense. Cullen and Anders are in fact bros, and whenever they attend mage underground meetings they laugh about the stupid things Cullen said earlier. Then they get drunk and ache for pine over Amell/Hawke women/men, and the rest of the mages there get vaguely creeped out but don't say anything because both Anders and Cullen are pretty useful to them.

Which is pretty entertaining if you play a Hawke that doesn't like him*. No, take him to the Gallows, please.

*I have only played one of these and it was rather difficult but still my point stands!

You can even warn Cullen after Anders plants his bomb in the chantry and he knows you're talking about Anders. You can just turn around a leave. It's awful.

Especially when Anders is right there.

Wow. Never thought about it before, but Anders really did get messed up... All Circle-mages did in a way.

I still remember how bitter Jowan was when talking about his mother. And then there was that girl who prayed for her magic to be taken away. I felt sorry for her, being made to hate what she is.

And, well... my Surana and Amell got really messed up. (Why was Amell sent to Fereldan, anyway?)

I always felt that at some point or other, somebody was going to do something to cause the major templar vs. mage battle. It was only a matter of time.

If Anders hadn't blown up the Chantry when he did, and they continued their little farce of a "peace" (not quite a farce, more like a burning fuse nearing its end) who's to say Meredith wouldn't have sunk further into madness and taken the law into her own hands?

Perhaps she'd see Elthina's neutrality as siding with the mages, or being thrall to blood-magic. What's to stop her storming the Chantry and murdering everybody inside if she thinks it's been infiltrated by blood-mages?
I mean, she saw them EVERYWHERE, and she was just as crazy as Anders. Maybe slightly more so.
(Which is funny really, because the one mage (Hawke) she semi-trusts is not only an apostate, but a maleficar! XD)

Kirkwall is one big mess, and if Anders didn't blow it up, I would have! Sheesh. (Alright, so I'm exaggerating...)

Maybe the mages can find allies with certain other Chantry-oppressed groups. Like the Dalish? (Unlikely) And the Wardens could always use more recruits, if things get desperate.

Regardless, somewhere in the world, one particular Warden is facepalming. So. Damn. Hard. (Why did he/she bother saving Thedas, again?)

You guuuuys!  Yahtzee talks about the homosexual relationships in DA2 in Extra Punctuation this week, but more important he talks about our dear, dear Anders.

Here's the link.

Yahtzee ripped DA2 a new one in his review, but he apparently loves Anders and that makes me SO HAPPY.

I like how he refers to his Hawke as an "old-fashioned, monogamous old queen."

Man, I am so late but I love this xD I never really got the whole "I MUST RP AS MYSELF WITH A CHARACTER WHO LOOKS JUST LIKE ME BLAHBLAH" mentality, honestly.

(I ended up going for an hour nap, tops, ended up sleeping 4 hours. FFFUUUU)

I AM LATE TOO (my nap ended up being 14 hours whoda thunk!) but this article made me happy. Yahtzee is great.

Also there was discussion of Anders turning everyone into gay men several [dozen] pages back? It is so true.

Also, morning errybody :B

Meredith says that Anders being a friend of Hawke is the only thing that keeps templars away from taking him to Gallow.

That, and if she tries any such thing, my Warden will arrive under mysteriously convinient circumstances, team up with Hawke and kick her a** to the Black City and back!!!

...twice!
(what? I can dream...)

I agree. I mean, there certainly wouldn't be any sort of situation where Anders resurfaces just enough to realize how much he's hurt Hawke with his 'you can't say that you love me but despise my cause' fit and, after Justice has been completed, he attempts to make it up to her/him, possibly whilst on his knees.

That's...totally not something that would happen. Or that I would want to happen. Ever.

Really?! I am so going to do that on my pro-templar playthrough. The one that never seems to happen. I keep playing through until the first talk with Anders and my resolution crumbles.

Off to make a much better banner.

-superyawn- Then off to spend money I seriously shouldn't be spending on a new controller and a Team Anders shirt. Awwwwyeah. :o

Bleh, I totally forgot about Surana.  They are both equal opportunity piners - race (and in Anders' case, gender) means nothing when it comes to their objects of affection. They will ache long and hard over them all!

I agree. Also I would never want to see Anders getting 'exorcised' or freed from Justice. I know a lot of people want it and there are probably fanfics about it but... After everything it would just be cheap. Also I'm a sucker for tragedy.

Hmph.  If we're talking escape artists, Anders would definitely be a ferret.  There is nothing on this earth that a determined ferret can't get into.  ::grumbles::

Yep! When next I adopt a new ferret I shall seriously consider naming him Anders... If it wouldn't confuse the daylights out of my current ferrets, I might name one of them Anders now anyway... :)

Besides, when you have ferrets you can honestly say "Andraste's flaming knickerweasels!" :wizard:

Not feeling the romance there. Just cryptic Goddamnit Anders I have been awaiting this moment to happen ever since I speculated you were in the damn game WHATDIDYOUDO.

I want to give Anders the biggest hug ever when Justice comes out during the Rivalmance. He looks like he's going to cry when he's talking about how he has bigger and bigger blackouts lately.
Then, of course, I get the cold shoulder every time I try to talk to him after that, >.<

We still don't know Anders' real name, do we?
... I'm still wondering what his name could be (... partly because I'm playing The Sims Medieval right now XD... :devil:without any ulterior motive, of course)
Do you think he has a german name?
(Of course his name would be Hans Image IPB)

Anders is never getting on his knees for anyone.
Not even Hawke.

I mean, he'd die and kill for his freedom (and that of his fellow mages).
He doesn't even beg or say he was wrong when he knows you're going to kill him, fighting for freedom is essentially the main characteristic of his personality it seems. (I discovered this when I slipped and clicked the wrong option (crying and screaming ensued))

I quoteth: "Sweetheart, I'm not letting anyone lock me up. You included."
