It makes me wonder if Anders is capable of sleeping. If the fade is where people go to dream, and Anders already has a chunk of Justice in his head, and Justice does make a comment about never venturing into the Fade anymore, I wonder if Anders is a permanent insomniac.

Yeah, I guess they were hoping to avoid having to deal with the "OMG my boyfriend likes dudes!" complaints... but I think those people are ticked off anyway (as usual), so I wish we'd still gotten the Karl conversation.  It was very sweet.  At the same time, though, I do appreciate unique conversations for each gender, so I guess I'm okay with it overall.

I just want to hear more words come out of his sexy face.

Those are just the underwear models, they're not unique. Male Hawke and every naked human male have the exact same body and underwear,  which I imagine is also the case for elves (Merrill and female elf prostitutes wear the same undies,for example) and human females.

In my opinion, it worked out well. It would have been really awkward for my FemHawke if she knew Anders had a romantic relationship with Karl. The extra spirit inside him doesn't bother her at all, but knwing that Anders had a boyfriend - one that just died, who she told him to kill - would bother her a little.

I got the screenshot off nexus. As far as i understand, the person replaced the armor with the default undies bodies for each race. So they will run around with armour, but appear naked. One step forward

As for Varric, he seems to have some more "bones" in order to animate Bianca, so maybe it was hard to replace his body model...or there is no dwarf undies model in the game atm.

Yeah, the person I had in mind said they were gonna start boycotting BioWare if the human male option was bisexual... I wonder if this helped calm them down in that regard? <_< But yeah, I think BioWare went a good direction here, and when I see male Hawke players complain about it I have to laugh since this is literally like, the only game where this happens. The characters express interest in your Hawke regardless and not even in overt ways (save Isabela), so it's totally up to you. That people want to take away those options from others so that they feel more comfortable somehow for like, 10 seconds? Pisses me off.

I have to say, when I heard he had a boyfriend, and we meet him, and he's dead, I was like REVERSE CARTH SYNDROME NOOO. 'Cuz it doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl, if they have a dead lover, that lover is perfect in their mind, and they're going to be broken up about it for a while. Anders, however, doesn't seem to have that problem. Or maybe he's turning into a different person and therefore doesn't care about the same people. Karl's death, however, fueled Justice to be super strong, though.

Anyway, I was glad that Karl wasn't mentioned as the boyfriend, because I think that would have been really awkward for my fem!Hawke. Mostly for the syndrome aspect, not necessarily for the gay aspect. But I'm glad that he didn't flaunt his sexuality, since he was last with a man, I would feel I could not compare, therefore not worthy -- or maybe not even his "preference" like Zevran so kindly put it. Which puts this unnecessary hamper on the relationship that I would be thinking about the whole playthrough. So kudos for keeping gender specific. I'm playing a male Hawke for my 3rd playthrough now. I don't think I can resist Anders a 2nd time, but I'll at least see if I can get the gender-specific dialogue this time.

The only difference I saw between male and female Hawke in that convo is that he never talks about his relationship with Karl to a female Hawke. He still hits on Hawke with the same lines regardless of gender.

Does he still call you beautiful if you're a male Hawke, then?    (I played through that scene a couple times, and was glad I meandered down that dialogue path instead of going straight for the second overt flirt option.... flirting twice actually ends the scene faster, go figure.)

I suspect we're going to make a third hero and then all three of them will get together at the end and do the dance from Thriller.

Personally I have no problem with having a different Hero from Hawke in DA3. I was really pleased with the way the cameos mentioned Alim in DA2 - gave me an impression that he was off somewhere VERY happy (although Zevran sleeping with Isabela in that cameo will earn him a few clocks around the ear).

This is why my FemHawke would feel awkward if she knew about his relationship with Karl. She has nothing against men who prefer other men, but she wouldn't flirt with them because... well, she would think it was a lost cause to flirt with someone who isn't attracted to her gender. A good part of that problem would fade away when Anders starts flirting with her, but she would still have the thought that he'd like being with a man more.

The dead ex thing would only be a problem for her in this case because he just died, in a really sad way, probably around a week before they started flirting - and she was involved in his death. It's much easier for her to start a relationship if she thinks of it as helping his friend find peace, and not convincing him to kill his boyfriend.

I dunno, I personally like the way they handled Anders' sexuality. So much had already changed about Anders between Awakening and DA2, that having his sexuality suddenly change as well would have been a bit much. Having it subjective lets everyone who wants to romance Anders do so and gives fun different dialogue.

Not that my femHawke could have resisted him at any rate, but at least he still felt a bit more like who he used to be.
