Oh OP. I take it very seriously, which is why I make fun of it at every given opportunity. Also I was filled with righteous fury at the Merrill secret. Daisy is more than fanboy fuel tyvm.

EDIT:  Oh God am I supposed to do something here. Looking back at the past few pages, s'all good. B)

I TAKE IT SRSLY @_@

Someone just needs to link the OP to this thread.  Then it'll be another person for the crazytrain.

I did! I also linked the thread to the banner in my sig, to ensnare the curious. I am a pusher of Anders.

I need your help people! I've tried searching for it but the wikia nor google aren't much help, and I don't know if I did something wrong and got something bugged or it's just something everyone gets in the same scenario as me.

Settings: Act 3, Rivalmance, maxed out, refused to help him getting in the chantry in his quest (but helped him getting the sela petrae and the drakestone).

If I'm at the Hawke estate or at his clinic, Anders says something that goes like "There's nothing I can do now".

BUT, if I take him outside and randomly click him, he'll just say what he said after finishing picking the drakestone (something like "thank you, but there's something more that I'd like to speak in private").

Is this a "normal" bug and I'll get to trigger questioning beliefs later on* or should I... do it some other way or something else?

*because it actually kind of should have triggered when I refused to help him since that option it's what got me maxing out the rivalry!

Thanks!

I don't think you get anything else if you don't help him at the Chantry, but I could be mistaken. The Questioning Beliefs triggers his outfit upgrade, and you don't get that unless you finish Justice completely.

Uh, I'm not Sebastian's biggest fan by any means, but I think even rivalry Sebastian intent on seeking revenge would be above doing anything to children. Even Andersbabies, which are clearly more dangerous than their non-Anders counterparts.

Sure, Seb won't harm the child. But Hawke has lost so much already, I'd be surprised if she wasn't at the end of her teather and somewhat paranoid by now.

Even if he won't harm the kid, he'll still try to take it away from her.

Somehow I don't think Ander's reaction will take much imagining.

Seb: I'll be taking your child now, for your own good.
mageHawke and Anders: ARGHHHHHHHROAR!
*boom* *crunch* *double boom*

That makes me think of The Incredibles.  I think a mage-Hawke/Anders baby would be like Jack-Jack.  :wizard:

Now I'm imagining their kid self-combusting and rocketing through the roof, and Anders and Hawke just being like, "Meh.  It's Tuesday."

I had that happen with a non-manced Anders, where I turned him down for the Chantry. I thought it might have been related to going to the Chantry, and it was just cropping up when it shouldn't.

I thought you had to reject helping him in order to get the scene where Justice takes control and yells at you (or so I've read)!

Thank "god" I've got lots of saves!

I love the new title. Far more in tune with the happy Anders of yester-year.

No, it's the opposite.  You only get that scene if you play out the Justice quest to its conclusion.

Oh! I'm totally going back to the game!
Yikes, this is a perfect reason to stop studying and start playing, lol!

Anyway, and just for the record, I just love the rivalmance (with a mage Hawke)
It's one of the reasons I'm becoming an Anders fan. It's not that I didn't like him before (before = friendshipmance), but it all looked a bit more... forced?

I still can't bring Fenris with me or I'd fall into temptation. Who doesn't adore love triangles though?

Thanks for your help!

My only concern with it is that "everybody" includes Mereanders.

I don't know if my body is ready for that.

Wow, about 25 new pages since my quick post this afternoon, you guys are turning me into a lurker! Love the new thread name <3 we're a positive political messege too

I bumped into a random girl from my course that I don't usually talk to and I'm like "I've been obsessed with this game" and she goes "It's dragon age 2 isnt it?" and I'm like "OH MY GOOOD lets talk about it!" I was SO happy to meet another girl who likes it in person and lalala. ANd then finally I'm like: So what did you think of Anders? And she went: Oh I killed him, I ****ing hated him, he's so full of **** and such a downer and I can't stand his voice. He's a ****face or w/e. And I was like... "yeah see ya later"

I know everyone dislikes him, but OUCH it hurt to hear actual HATE in her voice. Made me sad =(

Well... there are several damn good reasons to hate him.

I like that he's polarizing. :D

Also its easy to avoid arguments if someone's all I HATE HIM HE'S A SINGLE MINDED TERRORIST and you just go "well... duh?"

That would be depressing. The only person I've gotten to talk to about it is my husband. Thankfully he just dislikes Anders and doesn't hate him. Granted, he seems to dislike every guy I romance in BW games on principle I think.

I feel like people tend to forget the other seven years of Anders' life after he blows up the Chantry.  He helps escort mages from the Gallows to freedom.  He runs a free clinic in Darktown of all places for years, healing the sick and the injured with no thought for coin or repayment.  He clearly cares about Hawke and can even save his/her sibling.

I really like what Hawke can say about Anders to Ella.  "He's no demon.  Just a deeply troubled man."  One act of crazypants doesn't mean you can throw out years of the character's life.
