I'm not ashamed to admit it: when Anders said it to my Hawke, I had to pause the game to cry. Wasn't the first time DA2 made me do that. I hope they're paying Anders' VA big bucks, because this guy is amazing. <3

The entire sequence from when the chantry blew up to the end of the credits made me tear up.

Completely agreed. Between his incredible VA, those puppy eyes, and his incredibly dejected posture, it's impossible for my heart not break for him. Really, it was the incredible anguish I saw in him that helped me spare him my first time through (with a Hawke who'd romanced him). I disagreed so strongly with his methods, but agreed with the cause. Seeing that he didn't enter into any of this lightly didn't so much redeem him for me as make it clear he was a complicated character with a lot of baggage. Good thing I like that (at least in fiction).

yeah, it's like he already know the two of you are prob not gonna last long (because of what he will be doing later) and he knew that he is likely to die from it but he felt that as long as he did the unthinkable, fellow mages in the future can have love 2! what sacrifice!

it is just so sad...

Who, me? I don't know. It wasn't intended as such, but I loved that film, so if it is, then it's a happy coincidence!

I definately teared up.
Actually from the time he changes into his renegade outfit I just had such a sad feeling. You could just tell he was expecting the worst. He expected Hawke to kill him for his actions, and he was putting up a wall between himself and the one he loves in order to make it easier on both himself and Hawke. The first time that scene/conversation ended, I was actually yelling at the screen "NO!, what the hell just happened?!"
