Hawke's actions definitely have an effect if Cassandra is searching for him/her. The way I see it, it's kind of like the Warden saved the world and Hawke is changing it. Anders started the change that Flemeth and Morrigan talked about, but Hawke is the one with the power to decide which route that change will take.

Maselphie is right. While your actions seem to have no bearing, they have great import. Just because it feels like you haven't done anything, you've really tried to make a difference in the city. People notice you.

Would things have been different if Hawke hadn't arrived in Kirkwall? Who can say. Meredith always hated mages, so things with the Circle and the Templars likely would have deteriorated anyway. Would they have deteriorated as fast without the Red Kryptonite Lyrium Idol? I don't know. Maybe not. Anders would still have fallen deeper and deeper into Vengeance's hold and would have eventually still blown up the Chantry, that much is certain. A spirit like that wouldn't be able to stay in Kirkwall that long without finally snapping.

Well that's interesting. Wouldn't that be like a huge deal for Thedas though? I swore Anora would back out on that and when you ask for it she doesn't sound sure but I find that to be the most influential desicion to DA2 then. Heck you would assume Anders could just check it out over there now they might seem to have more freedom but I guess he founf beef with Kirkwall when the stuff happened to Karl.

I don't recall anything specific, it's very general. They only mention the warden as a mage saving Ferelden not specifically which one, and with Alistair/Anora it's about the Circle as opposed to any one person. Meredith calls him/her basically insane.

Side Note *Going to have to buy a new copy of Awakening though, mine has Nathaniel and Anders with Preset faces .

A full expansion would be all the better. Afterall, expansions brought us Anders in the first place.

If the next game and/or expansion plans to further the events of DAII, it makes sense not to have the epilogue sliders. Either you helped the mages and became fugitives or helped the templars.

I do think there is at least one party banter that changes from "you" to "your sister" when talking about mages in the first act.

Oh, definitely. In fact, he spoke of Bethany so much that I was really starting to wonder if he was with the right sister.

He does give you plenty of times to change your mind. I haven't done Isabela or Merril yet, but he's still as willing if you did, I think? Ask leggywillow. He outright criticized my Fenris romance, but then, they have a thing going on.

He flirts with you in the first conversation after the Karl mission. It's heartbreaking, because he sounds just like old Anders there, before he shuts himself down and says "I shouldn't be doing this." I don't think he does in the second act if you don't flirt with him, will have to experiment there.

Some quoted it already but here it is:  “I would drown us in blood to keep you safe”
BTW he also said that to my 2nd character even though I had already shut him down romance-wise and did not flirt at all with him. And was in a romance with Fenris. But I was high friendship with Anders.

Here's a video of him flirting first www.youtube.com/watch . You don't have to make any prior advances, I believe. Although, I do think you have to be nice before this. Granted, it's been a week and a half since I played this part myself.

I AM NOT GETTING THIS. Playing my male warrior for the first time ... at this exact point. No such flirting happens. I only get the "I like men with dark pasts" line and that's it. Should I have been more diplomatic before the mission started?

After romancing Anders I went back and tried the horrendous Sebastian let-down (not that I minded the chaste bit but the whole thing made NO sense and had no ending), so it's official, I'm going back to Anders. TBH I couldn't bear to see him pine after my Hawke. I don't know that I will ever be able to turn him down.

Hehe. When you talk to him again, if you take the "nice body" flirt, you get the option to ask about Karl ("Together?"). If you reply that it doesn't bother you that he's been with other men, you get a super adorable look from him (the pic I posted a bit earlier). Otherwise you get a more flirty line if you pick that you hadn't thought about it.

*facepalm* If I had just waited a minute I would have found out that you could talk to him again. xD Yes, there are a variety of flirting branches in this one convo. I finally settled on a "that's ... unexpected" response, but I said that didn't mean to stop. I plan on taking every flirt option evar. For everyone. Yaaaay.
