Hmm, stuff seems to be going a little off-track, so here is Anders and Ser Pounce!

Cue adorableness. Sorry, I have no idea how to embed DevArt pictures into posts.

I'm not even a cat person and that makes me go "...AWWWWWWWW." <3

I have a discussion question for you!

What is Anders' reaction/stance on the Qunari? I didn't really get a strong sense of his feelings towards them, even though I brought him on the bondage slave Ketojan quest. I was really surprised that Anders wasn't all cray-cray about killing off the Qunari or something.

I mean, at least Kirkwall Templars don't stitch up mages' lips and give them weird chain nipple piercings!

Religious organizations like the Chantry are how humans roll, yo.

Then thank the Creators I go Dalish.

I can't take the Maker seriously even as a fictional Diety, he's like a child who got bored with a project, got pissed when it didn't go his way, abandoned it to play COD, and only got interested in it again when a nice rack started singing his praises. Then he came...I leave you to finish that yourself.

I mean the Greek Pantheon was all kinds of FUBAR, but at least they cared about the world and people to an extent.

I LOVE GREEK MYTHOLOGY.

I'm not sure why, but Oghren always made me think of the Greek Pantheon... :?

God of the vine lol...

Oghren - Dionysus
lol
Yet I can't see him drinking wine...

What does that make the others...?

hmm.
Morrigan is for sure Hecete...

Good one.

Sten - Ares?

Yes!

Justice-Tyr!
The DnD Tyr...I just gave away the depths to my nerdiness....

Wynne-Athena.

Fellow DnD nerd here!
(Besides, Tyr is a real deity)

Sten can be Helm
Oghren is Hanseath (Dwarven God of War, Carousing, Alcohol? Yep)
Were he female, Zev would be Sharess.
Fenris is Shevarash.

I'd better stop before I get carried away.

So off topic I think Parachute by Ingrid Michaelson would be perfect for the Anders playlist! >.>

OMG Anders would be Ilmater! I know it...

I don't know know about your Hawke but mine would be Lathander.

YAY DnD nerd :D

I know Tyr is a Norse god, but I believe he was thier god of war?  I know there is debate if he or Thor is their God of War.  I do know in DnD he is the god of justice...

Hmm.  I'd say that Anders didn't care as much about the qunari because although the qunari are far from kind to their own saarebas, they weren't going around stitching up Kirkwall mages or helping out the templars or anything.  He says when you bring him for the Ketojan quest that he's never thought much about qunari mages.  He's specifically fixated on Chantry templars.

See, I can only do this with pictures. If I were to do this with my own cat I would probably lose half of my face.

Also, I have way too many fanarts favourited of Anders and Pounce. Evidence. Because no-one can resist a sleeping man cuddling a cat. *sigh*

Plus there isn't a whole lot he can do. The Qunari mages accept their role, even if it means killing themselves when they're separated from their group.

Yeah, I remember that line, but it was just so unsatisfactory! I mean, here is a injustice blatantly greater than what Kirkwall mages are going through... WTF Justice? Maybe he thought it would be too much work to get involved with that. <_<

He probably didn't know what they did. (He did express pity when it came to the whole "so they fear them." and was annoyed when Ketojan killed himself (I giggled a little at what he said, actually. I'm a bad person.))
I suppose it's a one-step-at-a-time thing.

Qunari are big, strong and can easily crush a human or elven mage.
Also, they're not connected to the Chantry.

Yep. Baby steps is good.

Anders does give you a sharp rivarly hit (I believe +15?) if you refuse to help Ketojan though. And I believe you get another if you hand him over to the Qunari.

I'd agree that, for whatever reason, Anders is mostly focused on the Chantry/Circles/etc. instead of just all mages everywhere.

However, he does say a bit in regards to the Qunari. If you click on him in the compound, he says he finds them creepy. Also, on the Ketojan quest he gets pretty pissed off about Ketojan's beliefs and subsequent suicide. However, yeah, for whatever reason he doesn't get mad enough to ever include the Qunari in his mage rebellion plans.

Also the Qunari mage started glowing like Anders when he stepped in. I was like "**** that ****..." I think their mages are more badass then the run of the mill mage.

Bah, it seems like such a copout. It could have tied Acts II and III together so much more! Anders witnessing brutality to the mages under Qunari, freaking out about Kirkwall doing the same thing, Kirkwall getting influenced by the Qun's attitude to mages (they did seem to gather quite a few converts!)...

Probably because he understands that the qunari mages wouldn't accept.
They remain in their places as the Qun dictates.

They're actually honoured, surprisingly...

I think it's more that the rage that fuels Justice/Vengeance's single-mindedness is directed toward the CHANTRY templars and the Circle, not toward the qunari.  That and Anders seems to think that the qunari are Hawke's special friends, like everyone else in the city does <_<

Hawke: I'm supposed to handle a bunch of angry fanatical horned men who can rip me in half with no political support or military back-up?
Everyone in Kirkwall: It's ok, the Arishok likes you.
Hawke: :pinched:

IMHO, and please be gentle, the qunari don't hide behind any ideals or religious doctrine per se, they treat all mages as dangerous and unknown. Which to the effect is sadly true for most if not ALL Sarebaas given they are only trained to use their powers to an extent, and not to notice if they have been possessed or tainted. But they don't hide what they do to the Sarebaas, and from what we have seen they treat them all the same.  While the templars can't decide what to do or to think about the mages under their care.

Like I said be gentle.

I can't breathe because I'm laughing so hard.

And Aveline turns around and does the same thing. You have no backup waiting for you outside the Qunari compound.

Ha! Yeah, what was up with that? Although, I'm glad they think it's a good idea to send Hawke up against the Qunari with very little back up. Then we can get Anders' adorably worried reaction when the Arishok finally snaps and tries to kill Hawke.

I mean, what? No, I certainly wouldn't endanger Hawke just to hear Anders worry over her... :bandit:

Yep, the qunari LOVE Hawke!

Example 1)
Hawke: I'm a mage!
Qunari: OMG IT'S TERRIFYING! KILL IT!!!

Example 2)
Hawke: Yeah, I killed some of your men, helped a mage defy the qun and my friend here stole from you. She's REAL sorry!
Izzy: Am not.
Hawke: Shadupb*ch!
Arishok: Either kill her, or let me beat the sh*t out of you!
Hawke: ...oh f-!
