LOL, The Soft KItty Lullaby...I can totally imagine Anders singing it! And I would listen and fall asleep, no doubt...but with Justice voice...not really, I would probably want to separate them more than ever xD The red eyes of Hawke are a wonderful touch.

Before the demo was released, everyone (including Greg Ellis) thought Ellis was voicing Anders. After the demo's voice credits were revealed, turns out that Ellis had no idea he wasn't voicing Anders after all. Don't hold that against him, really. Computer games aren't for everyone. But it's still awesome that Howden is interested in the roles he takes on.

It's also possible he did do some recording for Anders before they went with Howden and didn't realize how large a part Anders would play in DA2. He's mentioned before, I believe, that he had fun doing Anders (and it shows in his Awakening soundset, I think) so he has some concept of who Anders is.

And I think he does an amazing job as Cullen and I get the character better because of his VA. I don't think it's a matter of him not knowing characters that well but rather an issue of voice acting for video games being a solitary job and one in which you might be only getting the tiniest bit of information about the whole story or plot.

We need more VA's like this guy, seriously.

And I agree that I very much prefer the Anders romance. I romanced Fenris in one playthrough, and although I enjoyed it...I felt like I was cheating on Anders. LOL. Once I romance one guy, I stick with him. It's the same in Mass Effect 2 - I romanced Garrus, and then I was going to go for Thane and I just couldn't do it. This video gamer just isn't a player. (C wut I did thur?) In all honesty, I am simply more attracted to scruffy men. Fenris is a bit too...oh, what's the word for it?...willowy. Anders is my ideal guy. Gotta have the sexy tortured look along with the longer hair and stubble. XD

That's just my opinion. I think extremely highly of Ellis' talent and Howden has completely won me over by the work he did AND by being hilariously awesome IRL So, since we got both in the game, it's pretty much win-win.

Whoa, that video was surreal. Really, I'm okay with the voice change. It was a little weird at first, but it really fits now. Plus, looking at that video, it would have been really strange having Anders and Cullen anywhere near each other when they spoke. As it is, it was weird running into Brekker with Anders tagging along.

Have to agree with you here, I romanced Fenris in my second playthrough and while it was nice (such as that look he gives Hawke in his Alone quest when she tells him she's there for him ooh my heart went all a flutter) it just didn't have the emotional punch that a romance with Anders has. I'm really wanting to do a playthrough where my Hawke starts with Fenris but then goes with Anders because I've heard about companion dialogue there being quite fun, but as soon as my Hawke starts getting to know Anders... yeah she's only got eyes for him.

I think we're pretty spoiled for VAs in general with these games. Howden was a really nice surprise.

It's just a shame he doesn't voice Meredanders as well.

Wow that was surreal indeed seeing that vid and actually even though it was Ellis' voice it just wasn't Anders, if you get what I mean. I think (for me at least) that says a lot about Ellis' versatility that the same VA for Cullen and Anders would be quite so different, and that Howden really did do a great job making new angsty Anders his own character that it just felt wrong not hearing his voice there.

Oh and with Cullen as DAIII companion, I would be really surprised if they didn't have him as having a bigger role in the next one given his DAII makeover - sure he was cute in DA:O, but dang he's rather yummy-looking now...
