Just.... why? I don't understand why this was done, sexy stubble is sexy, shaggy beard is shaggy (hmm wait, in the UK shaggy can have a different meaning, shaggy beard is most definitely not UK shaggy...)Amondra wrote...

The beard mod scared the **** out of me. Why would people change the companions like that is still beyond me.

edit:
There's an Isabela wears pants mod? I need this! I frequently pause in battle, scroll the view, and there's Isabela's nearly naked ass flying through the air. I don't want to see her butt if I'm not romancing her. (Why do we NOT get to see her butt when romancing her?) Want to see pants on Isabela, and hear pants from Anders.

It's the aching. For three years, he aches for Hawke. For the rest of the game, Hawke aches for him.MorningBird wrote...
I actually liked the Fenris romance a lot.
I wouldn't say that it's better than the Anders romance (or that the Anders romance is better than the Fenris romance) because in terms of quality, I think they're both equally well-done.
For some reason, I just prefer the Anders romance though. I CAN'T PUT MY FINGER ON WHY. xD

Edit: You know what's cool? Adam Howden actually knows something about the characters he voices/the roles he plays. He cares about them. Before the demo was released, everyone (including Greg Ellis) thought Ellis was voicing Anders. After the demo's voice credits were revealed, turns out that Ellis had no idea he wasn't voicing Anders after all. Don't hold that against him, really. Computer games aren't for everyone. But it's still awesome that Howden is interested in the roles he takes on.

Having thought about it, I can see how having the same VA for Cullen and Anders in DA2 could have been problematic. Ellis did a great job make Anders distinctive, but Anders also had an entirely different persona in Awakening. In DA2, he'd be playing to a more somber/emotional/broken part of the character and that's the bits where DAA Anders skewed a little Culleny.
That's just my opinion. I think extremely highly of Ellis' talent and Howden has completely won me over by the work he did AND by being hilariously awesome IRL So, since we got both in the game, it's pretty much win-win.
@Yami 1. I LOVE that picture, it's going in the first post. and 2. Try Tiny Pic. I've been abusing it for a year and it almost never gives me any problems.

^That's what I thought too(while also secretly hoping Cullen gets DAIII companion-fied) and after hearing this and after playing DAII a few times I associate that voice more with Cullen now than Anders. And that would most likely be how DAII Anders would of sounded throughout most the game. Having an argument with himself would of been hilarious but I can see why that might be an issue.
I can play Awakening perfectly fine either way too, it's not that much of a in your face thing for me, but thinking about how differently he could of delivered some lines interests me because hey why not?
Have to agree with you here, I romanced Fenris in my second playthrough and while it was nice (such as that look he gives Hawke in his Alone quest when she tells him she's there for him ooh my heart went all a flutter) it just didn't have the emotional punch that a romance with Anders has. I'm really wanting to do a playthrough where my Hawke starts with Fenris but then goes with Anders because I've heard about companion dialogue there being quite fun, but as soon as my Hawke starts getting to know Anders... yeah she's only got eyes for him.phantomdragoness wrote...

We need more VA's like this guy, seriously.
And I agree that I very much prefer the Anders romance. I romanced Fenris in one playthrough, and although I enjoyed it...I felt like I was cheating on Anders. LOL. Once I romance one guy, I stick with him. It's the same in Mass Effect 2 - I romanced Garrus, and then I was going to go for Thane and I just couldn't do it. This video gamer just isn't a player. (C wut I did thur?) In all honesty, I am simply more attracted to scruffy men. Fenris is a bit too...oh, what's the word for it?...willowy. Anders is my ideal guy. Gotta have the sexy tortured look along with the longer hair and stubble. XD

Wow that was surreal indeed seeing that vid and actually even though it was Ellis' voice it just wasn't Anders, if you get what I mean. I think (for me at least) that says a lot about Ellis' versatility that the same VA for Cullen and Anders would be quite so different, and that Howden really did do a great job making new angsty Anders his own character that it just felt wrong not hearing his voice there.Batteries wrote...
