She was Dalish. She and Anders could have started a 'We Hate Templars'* club. In fact, I'm betting they probably did. Secret handshake included.
Of course this makes me wonder where in the blue blazes our Wardens have gone, anyway, and if they're ever coming back. Because if they are, believe you me, we are going to have WORDS.

I think that the our WC got recalled to Weishaupt for meetings about the blight and the Architect, and they probably sent a small contingent of other Wardens to buffer the few that were at Vigil. Then our Warden probably got sent on a meet and greet with every other Warden Commander at every other compound in Thedas. And the new WC was an ass and didn't run things like our WC, thus kicking off Anders's spiral. And then when our WC showed back she kicked Fayle's ass. ;>

The way he says it, my knee jerk reaction was that Anders did Stroud a favor that was outside of their approved roll as Wardens.  So something along the lines of Stroud was working on something personal and Anders 1) pulled his bum out of some kind of trouble and/or 2) Anders kept it quite.  Maybe both.  Or helped a family member?  A favor that would involve Anders going out of his way to help, like he does , no quesitons asked. And he didn't have to.

So, in return, Stroud will do a favor for Anders because it is the right thing to do, even if it is outside of the Warden's routine. No questions asked, just doing the favor.  With a sort of wink and nod and "we're square now" because the debt has been repaid.

Ah I was just replaying Awakening, taking Anders and Oghren again everywhere I went and I miss so much banter between those two nuggets... was nice tho when Anders said in DA2 - Well, put me in a dress and call me a templar... still, he's not complete without Oghren, wish there were more references to that in DA2.

I yelled at the TV when he said the Wardens made him give up his cat. And all the other things, like the Templars, December would just have not allowed that at all. Anders was like a brother to her, and you don't assign Templars to family.

They lied to you!!! It's frustrating. Well. It's fun when you get most of the abilities but the way NO ONE notices you're a freaking blood mage makes ... my blood boil. Yeah.

I know! I used it RIGHT in front of Cullen and the other Templars!
Did they try to arrest me? Nope.

I used it in front of Fenris (100% friendship) and Anders (friendmance) and they say NOTHING.
Then Hawke told Merril off for using blood-magic and I was like: "You hypocrite!"

Meredith was hilariously ironic though.
eredith: "Blood magic! Blood magic EVERYWHERE!!! And you're going to help me stop it!"
Hawke: "Umm... oh... kay..." *just finished casting hemorrhage*

Must have been. My Warden was very protective of her little circle (seriously, I love the Awakening cast. It was like a family. Warden plays the mother, Justice can be the step-father, Nathaniel can be the only sane child, Anders and Oghren are the annoying kids, Velanna is the b*chy PMSing teen, Sigrun can be the youngest child, and Pounce can be the family pet. One big, crazy, disfunctional family...)
