I've tried to analyze Anders' outfit. The feather pauldrons are definitely part of an outer jacket, and he's got a separate coat on underneath that with the buckles, and under that he's got a long tunic or something. So the man definitely likes his layers...

Plus the random bandage/wrap things he has tied here and there for... flair, maybe?

His canteen-looking thing cracks me up.

He's very patchwork, that's for certain. My boyfriend calls them "mage scrubs" because of the color of his sleeves and pants.

And the thing that confounds me are the loops down the front. Those things are for keeps, yo. Unless there's a grommit that we're not seeing, it's like he's welded in there. I know that Old Anders would probably have some sort of quick-release system, but Justice may have insisted on something a little more fortified. They're like chastity robes.

I just got to the love scene. Again. And although I don't like the "Want a sandwich?" line, I do love how utterly adorable his voice is when he's asking to move in. And his face!

I'm going to start my Anders rival-mancing Hawke tomorrow.  I'm very excited about it.

Does anyone have any tips for the best Hawke personality for that?  It seems like the red responses usually irritate Anders the most, but I don't know if I want to play another aggressive Hawke.

Anything pro-templars/chantry will do it quick. Don't ever agree to help mages. Tell Anders he's wrong... Hard hard stuff :(

Got to say, that male body model does nothing for me. It's clear from Anders' clothed model that his arms are skinnier than that, and I really don't think the muscles suit him. It's one of the reasons I'm not fond of Anderstair either, that body is just not him. He's a mage not a muscle man.

Agreed! Anders wears a lot of layers, he's not a buff dude :lol:

My guess is that the straps that hold the loops unbutton on one side? LOL @ chastity robes. He did say the thought "that part" of him was over, so I guess clothes that make it easy for quckies are no longer a priority?

In my head, he was lanky because what is sexier than lanky?  Now I think he might just be super average build guy, which works for me.

Rival-mancing Anders is tricky. Remember he hates blood mages and supports you helping apostates. Take a pro-Templar stance. Like turning apostates in to the circle or arguing with him about mages freedom will give you lots of rivalry points. Side with Meredith that kind of thing or help Merrill out in her quests.....stuff like that pisses him off....

Beware of the angst in it though. He looks way more broken later on in the game since he's much more conflicted with his ideas vs a friendship romance.

Uuuugggh... this is gonna be hard.  I think I'm going to hate Charlotte Hawke for upsetting my woobie so much.  :crying:  I need to do a pro-templar playthrough anyway, but I'm having a hard time seeing how that kind of rival-mance could really work.

I was thinking Charlotte would be more in favor of keeping her head down, maintaining the status quo, etc.  I could see the rivalmance working if she was simply apathetic or an unyielding "lawful good" type, but I don't know how well I can play that out in-game.

Yeah, truthfully, Anders should probably be leaner, but I can live with the current shirtless Anders. Tee-hee!

I agree with this to a point. The body model isn't perfect. It would have been nice to have a custom model for him. But I'm playing around with what we have access to. He would definitely have been slimmer, unless he is hefting really heavy staves.

I agree. Comparing his model against the base male model in game, I always figured he has a slighter build. Especially looking at his arms, I don't think the buff arms could even fit in his sleeves. Plus, then I can have fun imagining my warrior Lady Hawke carrying him around. :whistle:

I got Rival points pretty easy on my "don't give a ****" playthrough. Pro-templar, pro-killing mages who begged for mercy, and pro-turning people into the circle. Just be curt to him (bottom choice). I remember I walked up to him for his cutscene, chose the bottom "Do you have everything you need?" option, and he was like "SOME PEOPLE just want to talk, you know." I think I got rivalry points.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Wil Hawke would totally give him piggyback rides home after a long day on the Wounded Coast. Or if the ground was muddy. Or if he promised to show her that electricity thing that Isabela keeps going on about.

On youtube I watched a scene from the third act where you are Rivalmancing him and it's intense. Justice comes out to yell at Hawke and Hawke basically yells at Justice to "Leave him alone!" And then Anders is like "What did I say?!" and he admits that  recently there are more and more blanks where Justice takes over and he can't remember what he was doing... gahhh poor Anders.

Rivalmancing really does give you a diffrent look at the character and just cause Hawke disagrees doesn't mean he/she doesn't  :wub:

Actually although it breaks my heart, rival-mancing is the closest you get to make him change his mind about stuff. At least how unstable his desicion making is with Justice inside. When the scene with the girl happens and Justice almost kills her, you can be "I told you so" and he's like kinda of like "Oh I'm starting to see..." blah blah

Act 3 though I realized if Justice hadn't been in him for so long we could've changed his mind or tame his hatred a bit more. I forget what happens but you're talking to him about being in control etc.....and he's starting to agree with you but then Justice comes out and totally start telling you off, *This is where I absolutely stop liking Justice because he realizes how much power Hawke can have over Anders specially when you seem to convincing him about loosing controls, etc*

And then he tells you about the blackouts and how you're right but it never goes anywhere. I was just like, "Dammit Justice" just when I seem to be getting close to him he comes out and interferes!

*sigh* I find the rival-mance more interesting though~

LOL, I think Charlotte will be the type to smack him if he asks for a piggyback ride.

Anders: My feet hurt.  Will you carry me?
Hawke: What do you think I am, a cart horse?!
Anders: It was your idea to trek all over the Wounded Coast.
Hawke: I certainly didn't ask you come with me.
::mutual glaring::
Anders: I can light you on fire with my brain, you know
Hawke: And I can beat your brain in with my giant sword
Anders: Oh, you're just wicked.
::more glaring::
Anders: ::GLOMP KISS::
::begin having sex right there on the Wounded Coast::

Heeeeee! Wounded Coast sex notwithstanding, I would actually love a banter between Aveline and Anders to this effect. When he's still Almost Anders who can joke around, it seems like something he'd actually get on about.

Hawke: Are you saying you want to move in?
Anders: Well, yes. I thought you may appreciate not having to step over all the drunkards in Darktown to see me.

Hahahaha.

This song totally fitting for the Hawke/Anders playthrough I'm planning at the moment. <3

I watched the world float

To the dark side of the moon

After all I knew it had to be

Something to do with you

I really don’t mind what happens now and then

As long as you’ll be my friend at the end

^
That verse fits it mostly though.

It's mostly from Hawke's point of view, but the way I hear it, it could go either way really.

Very funny comic from Aimo. I love her work and I also love the one with Anders hold Ser Pounce a lot ;) We need more Anders art for sure. Too bad I don't draw. I think I'll stick to writing...*runs to her writing cave*
