Oh the rival mance

I love the Hawke/Ander rivalmance so much. I have some youtube vids up if anyone wants to be bothered watching.

And it's really sad but such a whirlwind. Anders rivalmance is hands down to me the best romance in the game.

Hawke: "... Make me a sandwich."

Hell, rivalmance him enough he pretty much confesses he has bad plans with the Chantry.
Ran off to tell the head church lady while Anders was RIGHT THERE... NEXT TO ME...

Hawke: "Hey. I think Anders has bad plans for the chantry."
Anders: "WTF?!?!?!!? I'M RIGHT HERE."
Lady: "... I shall not leave C_C"
Hawke: "Okay. Your death sentence."
Anders: "SRSLY. I AM STILL RIGHT HERE."

I'm surprised you'd have to go down a rival path to be able to say anything.

Rivalmancing really does give you a diffrent look at the character and just cause Hawke disagrees doesn't mean he/she doesn't  

oh gods!  I watched the video on youtube as well.  How do you do it?  I couldn't do it!  Just the video broke my heart and it wasn't my character doing it... *shakes head*

I'm starting to have serious doubts that I'm going to be able to do an evil mean walkthrough.  Maybe I will only be nice to Anders... which is such a sell-out.  A blood mage being all sweet to the blood mage hater, oh yeah, way to roleplay!  

At least these forums are helping me to see what I don't want to try in my playthroughs.
At least Fenris feels FUN when he's angry at my character... poor Anders is just so sad and hopeless.   *sigh*

Thanx for the videos.  I find it interesting that Fenris has things to say on the matter... in my "I loves you all, can't you all just get along already?" playthrough Fenris had zip to say to Anders after his mission.  Actually, forget that... I didn't bring Fenris along cause I wanted to be kind to Anders and so left my boy Fenris home so he wouldn't be all like RIVAL +1000000000000. lol

I missed out on some sweet banter.  Those two are hopeless.
Again, thanx for the videos, you're sparing me having to be mean to Anders... for now.

Heehee I have to disagree. I have a serious case of metagaming revenge. I keep doing things to ****** him off as punishment for his little GODDAMNIT ANDERS, moment.

It's just like when Alistair broke up with my poor mage in DA:O and I went back to an earlier save to break up with him instead. 

Although Fenris is also fun to ****** off, Anders' "SRSBSNS GLARE" makes me giggle everytime. 

Plus the occassional death threat is a bit sexy, lol.

LOL.  There's the difference... I totally understand Anders and in my playthrough I just sigh cause he didn't feel he could include me in such a big thing for me, but his justification just made me melt.  So I wasn't angry for one second.  

And Alistair... well, he was hardened already, ready to be king... and then I heard that mages and elves can't marry him (I was both)... I just made Anora queen.  Alistair sticks with me, no dumping me crap!  Tsk.

Besides, it'd be my fault if he dumped me... he didn't even WANT to be king, I got him all convinced and hardened and **** cause I wanted the throne.  I'd have deserved to be dumped, lol.  It was all MY doing.

I LOVE it. The way he says "So help me," is unbelievably hot. I can just imagine him crackling with magic ready to lightning bolt the damn elf across the room.

And is anyone else being as horrible as possible to Sebastian this time around? I really REALLY wanted to take him on the fade quest so he would betray me and I'd get more rival points. I HATE that dude. BUT HE'S BLACKED OUT in the character select screen for that mission. WHAT'S THE DEAL THERE?? I really wanted to have some ammo for when he warns you about Anders:

Sebastian: Anders is dangerous and selfish...
Hawke: Yeah, well at least he didn't abandon my arse in the fade for a DEMON, you religious nutjob.

Seriously, I was soooo nice and understanding to Seb in my first playthrough and he STILL buggered off to raise an army against Kirkwall, a city which I AM NOT EVEN THE VISCOUNT OF YOU TWIT. I lost all respect for him at the end of the game. Scottish, tight arsed, git. Take your sexy accent and your big blue eyes and aquiline nose and VOW OF CELIBACY and stuff it.

I don't know what gives with not being able to select him... but according to the guide Seb cannot be pursuaded.  He will never be tempted.

You think that's harsh? Try accepting the demon's offer. And then your journal says the best thing ever: "You betrayed Anders in the Fade. He might have something to say about that." LOOOOL.

By the last quest I was fighting the pride demon on my own, since Fenny and Aveline turned on me. With an Archer, mind you. XD

I won't be doing Anders' rival romance for quite some time. It's hard for me to plan out a character who would actually want to be with someone who has different views... the best I can come up with is a Hawke who doesn't like the way templars abuse mages, but still thinks Anders' ideas are too extreme, and doesn't like the way Justice keeps taking over later on. But is that enough to get full rivalry? o_o

The plan is so much easier with Fenris. I can imagine a Hawke who agrees with him on everything but his mage views, and wants to show him that there are a lot of good mages. For some reason, it seems like rivalry with Anders would make them too different.
