I don't really venture too often (read: pretty much never venture) outside of this section of the forum, it's pretty depressing how much hate there is on DA2 generally let alone on Anders. On the one hand it makes me very sad but on the other, you have to hand it to the writers for creating a character that provokes such a strong reaction from people, be that positive or negative.

I love it here where it's warm and snuggly and the chat on our favourite knicker-stealing, shrine-building, co-dependent psychotic loveable sexy mage is free-flowing

Anders/Isabela. As much of a "side trek" as Act II was, it was still a bigger plot in terms of quantity of content than the mage/templar thing.

I'm expecting Shepard to be dead at the end of ME3, personally.

ANYway, Anders and Merrill, I think, were the two "main" LIs. They're the hardest to derail, certainly, and once you sleep with them, that's it, the others all give up.

Isabela SHOULD be a "main" LI given her importance in Act 2, but I don't think many people would consider her such.

Yeah, I feel the same way.  Seb is my favorite character after Anders and Varric.  I wouldn't call him dense so much as Wrong Genre Savvy.  He thinks he's the hero in a high fantasy, bless his derpy little soul.

He's the LI with the most plot relevance in DA2, anyway. Isabela as well, I guess, but she kinda goes back to side-character status after Act II. Neither Merrill nor Fenris have much story involvement.

So I was reading an interesting blog about DA2 (which I will link to here) and I was intrigued that they believed Anders was to a certain extent stuck in a "High Fantasy" world of black and white, with the Chantry on one side (or the Templars) and the mages on the other. I disagree, kind of. I mean, isn't the whole point of his act that he's trying to polarise everyone ELSE? He's trying to force the world into BEING a black/white place, even though it isn't...

He acknowledges that Thrask is a decent sort, after all. Even for a templar.

Just food for thought.
