Hmm. If one spares Anders, it's not certain whether he and Vengeance will regain any sort of equilibrium, right? If Anders eventually becomes subsumed by Vengeance, leaving the demon completely in control, do you think it would still be subject to the Calling of the tainted body?

Requoting the whole thing for a new page and for epic amounts of awesomeness. I want this to happen in the game.

Also, I have wasted so much time playing dress up with Anders...I don't even know. I had planned on being productive today, but so far....no.

That's a good question. I think that it would be. When Justice is in Kristoff's body, one that was dead before he *cough* assumed directed control, he still had some of Kristoff's memories and feelings and, I'm assuming because Justice doesn't have to take the Joining, Super Warden Powers.

So it seems logical that even if Justice/Vengeance have control over Anders' mind, they'd still have to contend with certain physiological aspects of him, including taint related quirks such as a fast metabolism and gradual darkspawnization.

That's a good question.

I would imagine his body would decay into what Tamlen did eventually if he doesn't die before then since it is tainted either way. Unless that crazy guy from that DLC(never got it, can't remember his name. :P) discovers some sort of cure from the taint before that happens. He's got 20 years left as far as the taint goes.
Justice couldn't stop Kristoff's body from decaying, so I doubt Vengeance could halt it either. I don't know if it'd obey the Calling.

Haha, well what else would you expect from the best healer of Darktown? ;)

Come to think of it, I've always wanted to draw a pic in which Anders heals some of Hawke's wounds that surely occur during battles. Or stitching them up...

I thought about this too. Whilst as you said his body would gradually turn into ghoul anyway, I wonder though if he will still go crazy? Or will Justice/Vengeance protect him from that? I remember Anders saying that the nightmares don't go away but that was before we learn he's possessed. Do Grey Wardens still dream about Archdemons when there's no Blight? Because technically there isn't an Archdemon in non-Blight times, only Old Gods.

A Blight, two old gods (Flemeth and Morrigan's child-I still think they will somehow make it canon), and the most terrifying thing...Sandal's awakening! He knows something, he is someone greatly important, I'm sure!

I really think Sandal is seriously going to have a big part, soon.
Out of EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in DA so far, he's gotten my interest the most....

I love how most people can seem to assume DAIII will take place in Orlais or at least have some significant moment happen there just because Sandal is apparently going there.

I'm pretty sure they still have dreams of some sort; I remember Alistair mentioning that the dreams were "worse" during a Blight, implying that they have dreams anyway, but they're more intense, more nightmarish, when there's an active Archdemon. He also said, however, that "it takes a bit, but eventually you can block them out". Anders is still a relatively new Warden at the beginning of DA2, so they might still be worse for him as a result of being a newer recruit. But darkspawn dreams or no, I don't think he's sleeping restfully all that much. :?

I've often wondered about how the taint and his possession might interplay, whether he'd still get The Calling or whatever... Riordan says something in Origins to the effect of, "you seek them out, or they seek you out" which seems to imply that as long as he's tainted, at some point the Darkspawn will come for him, even if Justice has managed to wrangle complete control of the body, unless the act of the possession has fundamentally changed his physiology and somehow cancelled out the Taint.

Christ, what a ****ed up character Anders is. :( I understand people don't agree with his actions and are irritated by his preachiness, but good god, if they would just think about it... To be hurtled into a basically cursed life as a mage, only have everything stripped away from you because of it... then to be conscripted into an order of people who are for all intents and purposes already dead -- and to consider that freedom...then to be slowly consumed from the inside out by a parasitic force who is so singularly focused on achieving a goal as to try to deny him the earthly pleasures of his old life. Is there any freaking wonder he went nuts? I'd want to blow something up too, cause or no cause.

He seems to be always in the right place, where big things are going to happen.
And he started making some strange prophecies and having visions...there is something going on here!
