I thought about this too. Whilst as you said his body would gradually turn into ghoul anyway, I wonder though if he will still go crazy? Or will Justice/Vengeance protect him from that? I remember Anders saying that the nightmares don't go away but that was before we learn he's possessed. Do Grey Wardens still dream about Archdemons when there's no Blight? Because technically there isn't an Archdemon in non-Blight times, only Old Gods.
I'm pretty sure they still have dreams of some sort; I remember Alistair mentioning that the dreams were "worse" during a Blight, implying that they have dreams anyway, but they're more intense, more nightmarish, when there's an active Archdemon. He also said, however, that "it takes a bit, but eventually you can block them out". Anders is still a relatively new Warden at the beginning of DA2, so they might still be worse for him as a result of being a newer recruit. But darkspawn dreams or no, I don't think he's sleeping restfully all that much.

I've often wondered about how the taint and his possession might interplay, whether he'd still get The Calling or whatever... Riordan says something in Origins to the effect of,
"you seek them out, or they seek you out" which seems to imply that as long as he's tainted, at some point the Darkspawn will come for him, even if Justice has managed to wrangle complete control of the body, unless the act of the possession has fundamentally changed his physiology and somehow cancelled out the Taint.
Christ, what a ****ed up character Anders is.

I understand people don't agree with his actions and are irritated by his preachiness, but good god, if they would just think about it... To be hurtled into a basically cursed life as a mage, only have everything stripped away from you because of it... then to be conscripted into an order of people who are for all intents and purposes already dead -- and to consider that
freedom...then to be slowly consumed from the inside out by a parasitic force who is so singularly focused on achieving a goal as to try to deny him the earthly pleasures of his old life. Is there any freaking wonder he went nuts? I'd want to blow something up too, cause or no cause.
