I'd like to see Tevinter for my own eyes but I think I've had enough crazy wrist slitting mages for a while.
But I really want to know what the hell those magisters were trying to do with all that blood they bled from the slaves from The Band of Three letters.
I do hope there was more to them then just a way to say "veil is thin and this is why mages are crazier here."
You don't bleed out an entire generation of slaves for something small seeing how much damage a cut of the wrist can cause.

I kinda get the feeling after reading this: http://social.biowar...ex/6864288&lf=8 that canon is he's dead for good and reduced to cameo status (if you let him live). :(

I love Anders but sometimes he makes me go ARGHHHHH.
Then at the same time I'm like AWWWW.
Then five seconds later I'm like WTFFFFF?

Anders: I'll break your <3

Me: Okies

/gut punch

Right?
I was all like, "PFFT can't be any worse than after Alistair breaks up with me during the Landsmeet. Talk about a broken heart!"
One exploded Chantry later, I was like, "**** this. **** IT ALL."

I wanted to shank Alistair and his noble reasoning to the Void.

Have you noticed that any relationship in Bioware is...unhealthy? In Mass Effect: if you romance Garrus - don't *cough* injest. If you romance Thane - don't lick; oh, and he's going to die, so you're just setting yourself up for heartbreak. If you romance Tali - she may die of infection. Kaidan and Ashley - they don't trust you. Liara - well, she's relatively normal aside from the mental sex...all the fun without the clean-up. In Dragon Age: if you romance Alistair - max out your persuasion else he'll dump you. Leliana - her old lover returns with intent to kill. If you romance Zevran - you may end up with a knife in your back. If you romance Morrigan (and you're male) - she'll run off with your child and disappear into a mirror. Then, if you romance Fenris - he leaves you because he doesn't have a pair; and God forbid if you're a mage! If you romance Isabela - you'll get an STD and she'll run off. If you romance Merrill - uh, hello? BLOOD MAGE! Stupid Blood Mage, at that. If you romance Anders - ...need this be pointed out for the millionth time?

I think we're masochists.

And Bioware knows it.

Pervs.

:wizard:

I honestly think it's because the folks at Bioware got their idea of romance from Shojo manga. The way these guys write relationships you're think they've never been in love/dated.

Can someone give me a logical Role Play reason why should my Hawke who Romances Anders should go Blood Mage? For practical reasons, I can't see her going Spirit Healer with Anders around.

Extreme desperation.

Blood magic can effect minds, so say daddy Hawke taught his eldest child just in case.

If one Templar discovered that the Hawke's were apostates, she could use said magic, overtake his willpower and turn him into a little blood-puppet and either place the blame on somebody else, or something along those lines...

...Also, because she's apparently a masochist?
(I quote: "Hurt me, I might like it!" Er... Hawke...? )

Also, potential angst.
If only the people had reacted to specialisations... <_<

If it's a really good cameo, I won't mind so much. I find a second appearance in DA3 would be lacking somewhat.

EDIT: My b. THIRD appearance. Forgot about Awakening. :D

Yesssssssssssss.

I'm so of the belief that papa Hawke taught eldest Hawke blood magic (if (s)he's a mage).

I think it goes great with a snarky, "taking everthing on my shoulders" Hawke, that one day, Malcolm took his baby boy/girl out and taught them how to use blood magic if everything else was very, very bad.

Think of how boring a stable relationship is. Does anyone really want to play Shiba5 and her husband Almost-Anders go to Home Depot and buy a lawn mower? Which one should they buy? the one that cuts 3 1/2" or 4"? Oh geez... um... decisions decisions. Stay tuned because later they go get sushi for lunch.

I'm not saying they're all virgin waifus, just write like ones.

Most of the female hetero relationships make you have to pull layers back before you get in a guys pants. For once the timid, damaged love interest should be more aggressive. I'm a hero, not Dr. Phil.

What's that sound? Maniacal cackling from David Gaider's office?

Anders: I"LL HURT YOU! *angst*
Me: Pfff. I survived Alistair stealing my archdemon kill, Morrigan leaving my poor mage, and getting dumped at the Landmeet. How bad could this possibly be?

Given the nature of what he did, he doesn't really have to be alive to play a significant role in future games. The circumstances are such that he could end up with a relatively substantial cameo compared to other possibly-dead characters.

Oh, I made him live alright!

After he just goes and kick-starts a freaking war that I am responsible for cleaning up, he thinks I'm going to let him lie down and die?

F*ck NO!!! He can help me clean up this mess!

(Sure, it was inevitable, but he made the decision before anybody else. Thus, he will be in trouble.)

Alas, the very nature of video games means that the protagonist always has to solve the world's problems, from "can you save my cat" to "can you heal my broken heart." Unless BW experiments with a new sort of low low fantasy, in which you play a protagonist who just watches stuff happen (and they got enough flak as it is for Hawke not being as active in the game's events as the Warden.)

(and for the record, I think David Gaider is married... :P)

If you mean guiding all of your companions decisions, computers aren't quite smart enough yet where Anders can say he no longer wants to follow Gaider's scripted plan for himself. A sentient Anders would be interesting...
Maybe he would decide not to break any hearts.

"We'll be together until the day we die!"

Really? And you're not seeing it. If Hawke lay it on any thicker Anders would suffocate.

I guess I thought it was interesting that they assumed most people would kill him - even after romancing him. No way, I put a lot of work into "peeling that onion". Dr. Phil indeed. :P

Anders turns into a giant raging demon dragon abomination and kills ****loads of people, then Sebastian returns and shoots him out of the sky with his Arrows of the Maker.
Then Fenris becomes super-happy-rainbow Fenris. Which would be the worst thing of all. -grimface-

I'm not talking about breaking hearts. The companions are as competent as the developers allow them to be which in this game wasn't a lot. That's the beauty of it, they don't have to be whimpering man children if they don't write them as such. I mean, Varric seemed generally self sufficient but alas, you can't run your fingers through his chest hair.
