Poor Aerin actually meant it, but then she was pretty crazy herself. She's spent the far too long not allowing anyone to get close since she had to hide her magic from them and then along comes this cute guy that she can actually share her magic with. She never had a chance really.

My rogue Hawke meant it, too, for similar reasons, except that she never got close to anyone for fear they would out her sister. And she was also crazy.

Ok so I like that line sue me.

I know exactly what you mean. When I saw how much he'd grown as a character, and how much more self-assured he'd become (particularly when he put his foot down during the final battle), I was so proud of him.

And he's not a pedophile.

You heard me Jacob fans. "Imprinting" is a nice way of saying "child grooming". Why this woman was allowed to write is anyone's guess.

When my twin sister told me that, I gagged. She, of course, thought it was the sweetest thing.<_<

Sad thing is if a guy wrote it he'd be in jail.

Exactly. But the truly sad thing, I don't really think she knows what the hell she is writing, or actually goes back to read it. She thinks of something she thinks is "cute", but doesn't examine the idea further, possibly discovering disturbing and telling reasons why she shouldn't put it in. But then again, she was also too busy decribing "the ivory skinned amber-eyed adonis" Joseph Smith, or wanking to him.

When I first saw him in "Enemies Amongst Us" I sat there with my jaw dropped catching flys, and I pretty much yelled at my television, "OH NOW YOU MAN THE **** UP?" My Surana is heart broken she missed out on the badassery.

They can shop for baby robes and formula made from powdered templar for their one mage baby.

Then their warrior baby gets leather armor (gotta work his way up to plate) and also powdered templar formula because he's a reaver <3

There's precedent for a warrior and mage set of twins in the Hawke family. IT WORKS.

I'm with ipgd on this one, I thought the romance novel esque corny sentiments were pretty genius for highlighting how utterly screwed and doomed the romance is.

That's a good point actually... and also, this is Varric telling the story, could that also be a reflection of the fact that he sees the relationship as entirely unhealthy (as supported by the fact he pulls Hawke aside on the matter) and so that's his interpretation of the relationship influencing how the interactions are presented?

So, you see the romance as being written with intentional irony?  Sort of self-parody?

I personally think it is.

However, it is kinda hard to qualify.  The Chantry is such a major part of society in Thedas that it's religious, military, political, and civilian.  It's pretty hard to neatly drop it in one category.  The Chantry is a place of worship and doubtless had innocent civilians and sisters inside.

That said, the templars are constantly referred to as a military force.  Alistair called them an army in Origins, and Cullen says they're the strongest military force in Kirkwall in DA2.  And the Chantry is in direct control of them and thus has to take responsibility for them (despite what Revered Mother Ineffectual may say).

IMO? Yes.

They have an army.

Now now...formula will kill the baby.  Breast is best...  One of them needs to get on the pump to train their boobies to lactate, or they can just get a templar and keep it in some kind of boob closet.

In some ways yes.

Not like the romance is there for the lulz but... well... I can't keep my deconstructions/subversions/aversions straight but I doubt Anders is a sap for the sake of it being 'romantic' and 'romantic' alone. It's not romantic. On the surface it seems to be... but it's not.

Since technically the Chantry is in charge of the Templars I can see it being one yes ;)
