Horatio of Hornblower fame? I could allow this.

Also, my cat is called Daisy, and I only realised the other day that this is also Merrill's nickname. I have a fandom cat, yay!

No. Er. Hamlet.

.______.

How can we rivalmance if I'm not even involved? I'm so confused. I'm just gonna go over here ... I dunno... figure out some mechanisms or ... something...

you can warn the woman three times but she does not leave. I don't like that she died and would of stopped it if I could but she had plenty of heads up from Hawke and Seb, Hawke again and then finally by the city's knight captain to leave. She chose not to. I won't say she had it coming but she knew it was coming.

honestly i still can't see that, even with the three warnings we see as players.  she's probably had attempts on her life before but i still dont think that's good enough reason to just up and leave. i actually applaud her decision to stick by people who needed her even in the face of danger. just look at kirkwall - its full of dispicable people and i think she actually has dialouge about how it wouldn't be the first time someone has threatened her. what's one more threat? even if it happened to be the one that was made good it doesn't matter. her death isn't going to stop the chantry from exsisting - it going to end up serving as a symbol about the chantry who back down in the face of danger at the hands of an evil mage (which, btw is not what she wanted in the first place).

I suppose it's because I don't really have a strong religion or a strong religious leader, but I always wondered what she stayed for that was so important.

But, as I said, I don't have a strong religion/leader. I'm not part of a flock, so I don't fully understand the benefit of having the shepherd around. I saw it more as a ... I don't want to say desire to be martyred, but maybe something almost like that.

I dunno.

It doesn't have to be spiritual to be symbolic. Look at the leader of a country or the head of a family if that helps you understand things better.

Calibrations? :o

Eh, it's late here and I'm probably not thinking right. Which is why my mind went to Hornblower and not Hamlet.

I believe sleep is in order. Zzz

I don't have any problem with her sticking around, and I totally understand why she does, but it would have been a lot better if she'd stuck around and STOOD for something, or made a decision, rather than just standing around doing bugger all. Which is what she did.

I would be upset if either my leader or head of family got killed while doing not much of anything.

Wtih the later, I'd be furious. Hopefully, she's doing something and we just don't see it. Like tending to the sick and the infirm.

Nothing in regards to the mage vs templar debate maybe but that doesn't mean she sits around with her thumb up her crack. she did have other duties other than baby sitting those two factions.

This is great work but really......sinister. But I kind of like that about it; it's definitely a different approach to a lot of the Anders art that comes out.

I don't remember seeing more than one Chantry Sister anywhere except hightown. They are conspicuously absent from the Alienage and from Darktown, where they could be doing some good, like handing out charity or ministering.

Those two chantry sisters talk about orphans a little bit, but there are HEAPS of parentless kids running around and I don't see them going to the Chantry for help.

So whatever it is Elthina's doing with her time, it's not what I've always thought churches were supposed to do.

The old Anders thread over in the DAO/DAA forums had a cool prompt this week (feature Anders happy somehow... not as easy after DA2). I figured many of you peeps might enjoy it, so I'll drop a link here...

Not Too Heavy

That's a really lovely piece, DragonRacer. I loved it.

There's a good chance that has more to do with game design than actual story/lore but that's my own perspective. Just like how I'm pretty sure there really aren't a lot of kids, just a minor handful that happen to be the same recycled sprite from Origins, and the odd sprite that was given and adult body but a child's voice/dialouge.

Then again for all the lazing about the grand cleric has been doing, people don't seem to be displeased with her and how she runs things - minus jAnders.

He's so frank. I love it.

But you know, at first I thought his dark stubble bugged me, but now I realise I can't see him any other way. He looks like a creepy albino in that video.
