Anyone getting Avast malware alert popups while trying to post in this thread, or read it? I am, but only just today. It complains about some *.gzip infecting some script, or something, but the error message doesn't fit so I can't read it all. Anyone know what's up? Should I ask an admin?

A friend of mine just commented that Avast had just gotten over-zealous on her.

I haven't gotten any.  But will keep my eye open now that you mentioned it.  Thanks :)

One of Anders gifts in DA2 should have been giving him a pet. He misses his cat.

I still love this banter...
■Fenris: Did I hear correctly? You are an... abomination?
■Anders: Why don't you shout? I don't think everyone heard you.
■Fenris: Do you see yourself as harmless, then? An abomination who would never harm anyone?
■Anders: Like ripping someone's heart out of his chest?
■Fenris: I did that at the behest of no demon.
■Anders: So we agree that it doesn't take a demon for someone to be a vicious killer? Good.

Anders - 1
Fenris - 0

Absolutely!  We should have been able to give him a kitty.  But maybe they didn't want to reuse that gift since the Warden Commander gives him a kitty in Awakening.  But I still would have loved it.

Ah I love the Anders and Fenris relationship, Anders always ones up him, more so if you bring him with you to Fenris last quest.

Even in Act 2, after Dissent, if you give him the note of Meredith and Elthinia rejecting the tranquil solution, Anders tells Hawke that maybe he can reason with Elthinia about mage rights.

I'm wondering what happened between that and Anders feeling he had no alternative but to blow up the chantry.  I wonder if it will be addressed in a DLC.

The problem might not be what did happen in that time, so much as what didn't happen. I think Anders says something about Justice was just getting fed up of all the dilly-dallying around; so probably his thoughts either become more pointed, or he exerts his will more forcefully, than he had had need for before.

I also wonder at how much just being in Kirkwall affects Anders' ability to control the spirit within him. When you take Anders into the Fade, Justice assumes dominant control. Maybe spending so long in a city where the Veil is so thin isn't the best idea for a guy whose body is inhabited by an increasingly impatient Fade creature. But then, I guess none of what happens would have happened the same way if it hadn't been for Kirkwall being the Hellmouth and all that.

My question is this:  With the veil to the Fade so thin in Kirkwall why, oh why, have a Circle of Magi there??  Was there nowhere else to put the Circle?

"So we have some mages here we need a tower for....hmmm lets put the tower where mages will have the MOST trouble defending themselves agains demons!  What a good idea!"  The chantry isn't that smart is it?

I highly suspect this is why so many mages in Kirkwall go nuts.  Dear lord, if it wasn't for other information about mages I might have gone all templar on the Kirkwall Circle myself.

And I think. like others have said, it is probably part of the reason why Justice had so much power over Anders and it is very hard for Anders to control him the longer he stays in Kirkwall.  I do wonder if Anders and Hawke go on the run and even go back to Fereldan, if Justice will be more controllable?  Or has it reached a point where Anders is no longer in control of Justice no matter where they go.

Yes.  Sometimes Fenris has the worse arguments ever.  And its like hes completely oblivious to the fact that Anders just Lawyered him.

My canons both have a thing for Anders, but one of them actually says "okay, we're a bad idea..." and moves on to Fenris.  And then she keeps hoping he'll come to his senses... I wonder, can you bed the prostitutes after Fenris does his leaving thing?  I think I could live with that.  But moving on to Anders just feels like a slap in the face... oh yeah, Fenris, I told you I love you, you're wearing my crest and whatnots, but I'm going to move on to the man you hate the most.  Oh yes.  And Anders?  You get sloppy seconds after I sexxed up the elf, who you hate.
I can't do it!  :crying:

I'm too stuck on that to pull myself out enough to RP a character that would have the motivation to move between them.
But thanx to all you foxy ladies and gents, I don't have to!!! So thank you!  I get to hear the hot dialogue without putting my brain in a blender .  I *heart* you all!

Not sure how old this is....

My 2 canon-ish playthroughs both moved from Fenris to Anders and it felt right.  The difference I guess is that neither of them claimed to love Fenris.  It was based mostly on physical attraction and mutual respect and in both cases happened nearly by accident.  Kitty and Vivian weren't actively pursuing Fenris really... they flirted of course, because flirting with a hot man is fun.  Then Fenris shows up and does his glowy-wall thing and the sex just sorta happened.  They were both hurt and annoyed when Fenris took off after that, but in both cases the flirtation with Fenris was mostly Hawke trying to distract herself from the mage she were falling in love with who said "we can never beeeeeee!"

I don't think Anders would consider it sloppy seconds, either.  He's been with tons of people, after all, and when you tell him that you and Fenris are finished, he just seems too damn happy to care.  It's adorable, really.

One difference between my Hawkes and yours (possibly) is that Vivian and Kitty aren't particularly virginal.  They aren't loose like my Amell and Surana were (lol), but they were both sexually active long before meeting Fenris and Anders.  Thus having a fling with Fenris wasn't as big of a deal for them.  Anders was the first man they were intimate with who they actually loved.

I couldn't jump from Fenris to Anders with my virginal Hawke, though.  I couldn't role-play my way around that one.

Justice seems stronger where the veil is weakest, which would imply that he is weaker where the veil is strong.  Perhaps on the run and away from Kirkwall Anders is able to regain more control over Justice, especially with the help of Hawke.  It makes sense anyway.

Or the banter with Merrill where she tells him that a cat in the alienage has kittens and he asks if there are tabbies.  I went and looked for the cat just to see if I could give him one. :crying:

Yeah, I have been wondering for a long time know who's "brilliant" idea it was to put the mages somewhere that the Veil HAD to be thin.

Glad to see someone else did this. I went in spoiler free, so I didn't know what gifts you could get for Anders. I spent so much time running around looking for a kitten after that dialogue with Merrill.

I will just pretend that there was a cat (or cats) in the Hawke Manor. YOU NEED A MOUSER, OKAY? I refuse to RP a person who doesn't like cats, so there was a cat and there was much mansqueeing over cats in that house.

I wonder if at some point between arc 2 and three Anders heard that Meredeith was sending for the right.  As in arc three you can hear she was sending for it before she called it at the end of the game.  It wouldn't be hard for him to find out.  Mages he is helping escapre might of heard something, remember not all the templar's were backing the Knight- Commander.  I also the vail was being so weak there wasn't helping Anders, or maybe Justice forgot the lines the mortal world has on what is justice, and he thought he was doing the right thing.  Anders being with him for so long, started to feel the same.

Though I still think there is more to Justice making an apperance when Anders is around things that hurt(him mentally like Karl) or things he has bad memories about.  But that's just me.  Because when face with other injustice's Justice just seems to sit back and drink tea.

No, there was none of that xD
