Honestly, I'm still waiting on someone to write a Disneyesque animal buddy fic where Dog goes off with Pounce in pursuit to find Anders.

Madcap antics occur with little splashes of drama...

edit: oooo top of the page... in theme with the topic...

your precious Anders...

I loved the delivery of that line.  The venom in Seb's voice is just perfect.  Talk about a way to raise my Hawke's hackles.

I always hear "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog, too" whenever he says that line. My brain; IDEK. But it makes me laugh. Pisses my Hawke off, though.

I don't know if LeggyWillow is around (or was it Threeparts, I know they were both collaborators on the concept) but there was a great post about a Pounce DLC where you get to play as Pounce trying to find Anders. They had companions and romances and everything. I would so pay for it.

That conversation is one of the best in the early game. Anders' sadface when he admits to missing Pounce just breaks my heart every time.

That conversation inspired me to draw this! :)

See, in my head-canon, he gave Pounce to Nate who was surly and unhappy about it at first (in typical Nate fashion) but ultimately fell in love with Pounce.  So it'd go like this:

Anders: Nathaniel!  I'm here to take Pounce off your hands
Nate: D:
Anders: I know you didn't want to take him, and I really appreciate you watching him, but I can take him for you now
Nate: B-but...

Well, Anders did know about Alrik and the tranquil solution, although he got Meredith and Elthinia's part in it wrong. So I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple of people in the circle who knew what Meredith was planning. Heck, Kerras just plain old says it in front of Hawke which is how we as players find out. So I wouldn't be surprised if Anders knew even before Hawke did which is why he was so paranoid about Merill being around the windows. Learning about the planned Exalted March probably just cemented what he already had planned and justified it in his mind, especially Elthinia rather callous remarks about the Chantry slaughtering a whole city and her views on an Exalted March in general. Even Sebastian was thrown off by what she said. I was even taken aback by that which is probably why I wasn't as sympathetic about her going boom as I might have been before.

Well, to be entirely fair to Elthina, she did send Hawke and Seb to talk to Leliana in order to STOP the Exalted March.  And she does seem to genuinely care about the people of Kirkwall; she's just fail at actually doing, you know, useful things ^_^

Anders also says in Act 3 (via a convo you only get if you don't romance him), that the mage underground has all but collapsed over the last three years of Meredith cracking down on the mages.  He also stopped being as active in the resistance after the Dissent quest.  So while he may have found out on his own, I think it's more likely he finds out the same way Hawke does: overhearing Kerras.

I wonder if at some point between arc 2 and three Anders heard that Meredeith was sending for the right. As in arc three you can hear she was sending for it before she called it at the end of the game. It wouldn't be hard for him to find out. Mages he is helping escapre might of heard something, remember not all the templar's were backing the Knight- Commander. I also the vail was being so weak there wasn't helping Anders, or maybe Justice forgot the lines the mortal world has on what is justice, and he thought he was doing the right thing. Anders being with him for so long, started to feel the same.

Though I still think there is more to Justice making an apperance when Anders is around things that hurt(him mentally like Karl) or things he has bad memories about. But that's just me. Because when face with other injustice's Justice just seems to sit back and drink tea.

Exactly, though I think they leave us out of whatever loop there might be because they want there to be a reason to side with the templar's to give us that gray area.  However people like us who click everything under the Thedas sun, and think outside the box, only see one side.  Also we think placeing a circle in Kirkwall was about the stupidest thing ever.

Though maybe that was done knowningly.  A place where mages could easily loose themselves is a good way to show the world they are a danger, and keep their foot hold on them and the populace.

Is it just me, or does it seem like nobody seems to care that Anders started to glow right before he blew up the chantry?
And has a demonic undertone when he spoke.

Ooooh conspiracy theories!  Yes, the Kirkwall Circle is a plot to scare the bejesus out of the people of Thedas so that the Chantry won't lose its source of Tranquil slaves.

Let's face it, Everyone Knows. By Act 3, Meredith is Crazy, Ethina is Useless, Varric is the Best and Anders is an Abomination. I bet he even has his own column in the Kirkwall Krier "Ask an Abomination!" with his picture and everything because, by the end of the game, pretty much everyone who is anyone in Kirkwall (and those that frequent the Hanged Man) has seen him fighting in his full, vengeance'd out glory.

Oh thats just like being a mage and saving Cullen in Act 1 from that templar/abomination.  Fireballs rain from the sky and hes all "watch out for mages they're dangerous!"  "um sure Cullen will do."  Templars are oblivious.

It may also be like the glowing green kryptonite in Smallville.  Clark never seems to notice the glowing green kryptonite because to him it is not glowing green but it is to the views so we know that it is kryptonite.  OF course we know that the others do see him glowing but maybe sometimes it is just for our benefit to know that it is justice doing this thing not Anders...?

Just a thought.  I really dont know.

LOL well just the more I think about it does seem like a rather stupid idea.  I don't think the Chantry would have been for that, because Starkhaven had one, and Kirkwall.  I think Fereldan only had one.  So why does the Free Marshes need two?  Also I don't see it beyond the Chantry to make sure people always fear mages, or evles.  I mean honestly when you have as much power as them, people would do anything to keep it.  They are human after all.

That one actually caught me by surprise. Up until Harvester Outta Nowhere, I was convinced that he was the only genuine non-companion in the entire game.
