You forgot to mention that Orsino is a liar :)

That one actually caught me by surprised. Up until Harvester Outta Nowhere, I was convinced that he was the only genuine non-companion in the entire game.

He was only interpreting The Thing while he had a captive audience. A theatrical genius that man.

I never played the Harvester DLC in Origins, but I remember thinking that when I ran into Alistair that that was what he speaking of.
Then came the end of the game. That had to of been the most wat moment I ever had.

I don't know if LeggyWillow is around (or was it Threeparts, I know they were both collaborators on the concept) but there was a great post about a Pounce DLC where you get to play as Pounce trying to find Anders. They had companions and romances and everything. I would so pay for it.

This would be the best thing ever. I would pay so much money for it.

REUNITE POUNCE AND ANDERS!!!!

*coughs*
I'm okay, I swear.

Ya if you don't play Golems, Orisno turning into a Harvester would be wtf. It made sense to me sicne I played the dlc and plus Orsino did study necrology and advance blood magic.

Does Anders say anything if you bring him with you?

I had him tagged as a hypocrite after our quest with mother in Act II.  I am amazed I actually put the puzzle together because I usually miss stuff like that until later playthroughs.

And has a demonic undertone when he spoke.

You mean like why weren't Meredith and the templars going "HOLY $*!@#!  Abomination, abomination!" at that point?  Well, these are the same templars who don't seem to notice a robed and staffed Hawke wandering around shooting fireballs at people in the middle of the Gallows. :P

Cullen: Mages aren't like you and me.
Hawke: ::juggling fireballs:: You don't say.
Cullen: No way, they're super dangerous.  You should tell me if you see any.
Hawke: Merrill, Anders, you guys hear that?  We need to keep an eye out for mages
::Merrill and Anders are using their glowing magic staffs to bounce lightning back and forth, Legend of Zelda style::
Merrill: Oh, we'll definitely do that.
Anders: Yeah, sure thing bro.  Mages, man.  Can't trust 'em.
Cullen: I'm glad you guys agree with me.  Ya'll are awesome.
::Hawke uses Cone of Cold::
Cullen: Huh.  Does it seem suddenly cold out here to you?
Hawke: Nope
Cullen: Must be my imagination.

Soon as I saw him glowing, I knew crap was going to hit the fan.

I said the same thing Hawke said as soon as the demonic voice started.

I just went with "Oh ****", myself.
Granted, it was all I really had time to say, but still.

That conversation is one of the best in the early game. Anders' sadface when he admits to missing Pounce just breaks my heart every time.

Discovering that that conversation even existed was one of my reasons for replaying my canonHawke - I had no idea Anders came to Gamlen's house my 1st playthru. *must be in headcanon!* :wizard:

I didn't play it, but it didn't surprise me fot the necrology use...it was the fact that I sided with mages, I had just killed a bunch of templars, and with just my party around he decided to turn into a Harvester :°D
Bad timing, to say the less.
I read it does make more sense if you side with the templars...still...I kinda wished I didn't have to fight Orsino so he could stay alive in a pro-mage playthrough. (another example of how little does it matter what you chose in the end...just save your skin-and if you can the one of whoever is dear to you)

So, in the spirit of Kirkwall is messed the hell up, I think this could be a good theme for DA2: Crazy Bastard by They Might Be Giants.

Seriously, everyone wants to kill you, even if they should know you are an ally.

If I remember correctly Orsino kills the mages himself to fuel his blood magic, which he also claims he had never used before that.

He's downright insane that path. Well, he's insane either way but if you know what I mean.

It's so true.  So I just roleplay that my Hawke hides the staff and doesn't wear robes in town.  And yells at Anders for never taking off those damned Tevinter Mage's robes.  Can anyone scream OBVIOUS AS HELL!

I thought the mages were already dead when he becomes the harvester.  And honestly it makes sense either way you choose to go.  The mages were being cut down left and right and orisino freaks out.  The Circle mages are going to be killed regardless on whether or not they use blood magic so I can see him going "WTH why not at this point, we're all dead anyway!"
