New here and late for the party it seems.

I kept myself away from the forums for the most part and was spoiler free when everything sort of went down. I knew something was going to happen but I just had that twisted hope that he was wanting to give his pillow away in case he was caught as an apostate or something like that. So now I am still reeling from it and my fleshy LI is starting to get worried at me being bothered so much by a video game so glad I found this thread.

I actually allowed myself to get spoiled on his actions because I couldn't handle another shock to the system like Alistair's dumping my poor Surana on my screw up playthrough. Which I deny exists since it was bugged all over the place.

Did anyone else notice, in the love scene, when he touches Hawke's face there's this little shimmer of blue and whispy magic around his hand?

I don't know if it's been mentioned before and if it has disregard this but I though it was worth mentioning.

I think it actually beats Ilos for me, which is a big deal.  What can I say?  I prefer my PC being jumped rather than doing the jumping.

i noticed this too but i thought it was just because i was on the 360 and the graphics arent as good as pc or ps3. there were a lot of other graphical glitches for me so i passed it off as that

See I played Cousland on my first playthrough so I did not have that heartache. That said I was really bothering by basically conniving my way up to the throne "ha ha! and I will be Queen!"

I have been talking about the need to turn your loved ones to the law in my non Kirkwall life so I guess it has spoiled my roleplaying. I finished by deciding to follow Anders but it was more out of fear he would hurt others than love and kittens.

Yep! I don't think anyone who's with Anders can ever demure because of a headache (not that they'd want to, of course).

There were no LI's in ME that I like enough to appreciate the love scenes and I've only seen Garrus' in ME2 (and I love it). The vanilla scenes in DAO were painfully awkward, so I'm surprised that Anders' is about perfect, I think. The only thing I don't like is his last line. It's a little awkwardly phrased. But he is adorable, so he could be reciting his manifesto and the mood would persist.

As for kisses, my Hawke just got kissed by Aveline. It was pretty awesome. I'll have to replay the Anders kiss for research purposes...

I thought the DA:O scenes were way too awkward (although the dialogue around them were good) but I loved romance in ME2. Or, at least, Garrus' scene, since he was the only one I romanced. So I had high hopes for DA2 to be an improvement romance scene-wise. They more than surpassed my expectations.

Painful though the romance on a whole was, I loved every minute of the romance scenes. Sparklefingers included.

I'm actually pretty turned on by him reciting his manifesto to begin with. He's like a schoolboy. It's ... cute. Thanks to Youtube videos I can see -- I never got it on my playthroughs, so everyone's jokes about it went over my head. ;_;

I may not like Anders as much as Alistair or Kaidan, but at the end of Dragon Age 2 I was all HELL NO! So I've spent loads of my spare time since completing the game, writing a fic about it.
... I need to get out more.

I don't even remember the pre-Ilos scene, I only saw it once and not in a save that I kept. DAO sex scenes were cringeworthy, so I definitely prefer the DA2 route. I think I have a thing for couples that cannot have children under any circumstances... I might have a problem *looks around for Miri*

Example:
-Canon Warden: female casteless dwarf/Alistair (on top of the Grey Warden thing, dwarven fertility rates even lower w/ humans)
-Canon Shepard: femShep/Garrus (no need to explain that one)
-Canon Hawke: male/Anders

I think not flirting and choosing a lot of charming/sarcastic options is what does it. This was the first time I didn't flirt with her.

You know that's why I like Adam voicing Anders. Greg's voice was super hot and he got just the right amount of pure undiluted sex into Awakening!Anders' flirty lines, much love for it. But Adam is just so cute and adorable with his delivery. Although listening to him chew Merrill out is a little bit painful because he's so very harsh. Understandably harsh... but still makes me a bit uncomfortable. Which is probably the point. Not that Merrill doesn't get a few zingers in too.

Ah, that kiss. That kiss melts my brain every time. Just....unf. Though I do try not to imagine it being recorded. Wonder if he got it in the first take? Hmm...
