Absolutely!  We should have been able to give him a kitty.  But maybe they didn't want to reuse that gift since the Warden Commander gives him a kitty in Awakening.  But I still would have loved it.

He misses having a cat alot if you have you dog, poor Anders :crying:

Or the banter with Merrill where she tells him that a cat in the alienage has kittens and he asks if there are tabbies.  I went and looked for the cat just to see if I could give him one. :crying:

Glad to see someone else did this. I went in spoiler free, so I didn't know what gifts you could get for Anders. I spent so much time running around looking for a kitten after that dialogue with Merrill.

I was also spoiler free on my first playthrough, so I didn't know what gifts people got either.  I took that banter as a hint.

lol same here I went to ever stall I could find looking for a damn cat

Hey guys I'm not usually up to reading fanfiction but for some reason I am in the mood to read some. Anyone have a link to a good one?

Letters over on the k!meme is pretty awesome...

Maker, yes. That's the one that got me started, and I've been checking compulsively for updates. Even at work, where I soooo shouldn't be reading. D:

Awesome will definitely check it out then :)  Thank you.

OK now I read this in this post somewhere but can't remember where. Apparantly if you speak to cullen on the rivalry path without anders in your party and tell him someone is targeting the chantry he says they have orders to search Darktown and arrest him. There was also a rumor of a 'missing' letter that's meant to be in the game but is bugged that is a warrant for Anders' arrest at this point in the game.
If this is true, Anders was running out of time in Act three and had to do something drastic or he'd have been arrested and killed and the whole thing would have been for nothing.

First I've heard of the bugged letter, but I knew about the upcoming arrest.

I think the guide mentions a warrent for Anders' arrest.

So he was ... running out of time.

And yet, if you march Anders over to Cullen wrapped up like a Christmas present, Cullen doesn't do anything. XD

They really weren't trying to hard to find him.  Why would they even be searching Darktown?  The Codex entry for a romanced Anders says that he had been "living openly with Hawke for some time" and mentions him being uncomfortable in the spotlight.  "Openly" implies that people know about it, and that kind of gossip would definitely reach any templars who are even vaguely paying attention.

Here's my theory.  Meredith knows, but wants to keep Hawke around to use against Orsino.  If you side with the templars, she almost says as much right before she turns on you.  Before then, she threatens to go after Bethany, or your mage friends, or you (if you're a mage), unless you do what she wants.  So Cullen might be under orders from Meredith rather than an oblivous idiot.  I hope that's the case.  Cullen's really grown on me in DA2.

I like your theory. ;)

I'm also leaning towards it being politics. Or, they were hoping to catch Anders when he wasn't at Hawke's, RE: the clinic.

www.youtube.com/watch

"The location we were given had been abandoned..."

Templars are crappy investigators.

They really, really are.  Jacques Clouseau and Mr. Magoo must head the templar's investigative division.

Investigator Templar Man:  Facts, Cullen, facts!  Behind them lays the whole fabric of deductive truth. Now, let us examine these facts: 1) Anders was found with the poop bomb in his hands, 2) the MARDAR weapon was fresh with blood, 3) there were no fingerprints on the poop bomb other then his, and 4) all the members of the Hawke household staff have perfect alibis.  Now then, Cullen, what do these facts add up to?
Cullen:  Anders killed Elthina the Grand Cleric.
ITM:  You are an idiot!  Only a fresh-faced novice would come up with a conclusion like that!

Hey, silly, un-Anders related question, but is there a mod that places the default Carver head as one of the presets for Hawke in the character creation?

I really, really want to work from that as a baseline for my Hawke. I can't quite get his facial structure close enough to his brother's.

Random thought. So Justice stops Anders from feeling the pull of a demon right? I would think he would stop the manipulation of blood magic too. If you take him with you to the brothel he is also ensnared by the spell. I just though Justice would feel it and go berserk on her...

That's a good point. But maybe since Justice is a part of Anders now, he feels the affects as well?

I guess. I just found it weird, Justice just seems to make Anders more of a badass in so many ways I just thought resisting blood magic would be one, mostly because the Vengeance part of his tree is basically blood magic, but for the greater good!

I like this idea.  Do you mind if I steal this for my story?  I think it would be awesome for Justice to go all "RAAR".

Good point.  I think he's still more resistant to her than the others, though.  The only way I can get him to be the one who makes a comment about sparing Idunna is if he's the only person in the party; the other party members' dialogue will all override him.  I always assumed the person who speaks up is the person most influenced by the spell.

Oh I didn't think of it that way.  You know when I think about it. Anders and Fenris never trigger unless they are basically alone.  That makes sense.

Do you mind if I ask what Anders says in that scene? I've never gotten that. It's always been Isabela or Varric speaking up for me.

If I remember right something along the lines of "Maybe she is right."  And when you ask what has come over him, he replies with something again along the lines of "I don't know...I am sorry."  he seems to be shruging it off.

Yikes, I don't quite remember.  I don't believe he's as taken with her as some of the others, though.  I think he says something like "You know, she might not know anything" and just kinda leaves it at that.  When Hawkes asks what's wrong with him, I think he says something like "Sorry, don't know what came over me".

Again, I don't really remember so it may be different.  Hopefully someone uploaded it somewhere.

Oooh, I found a YouTube video of it.  It says it has all companion reactions, but I'm currently watching it now.

EDIT:  Okay, Anders actually says "We should just do what she says" then "Sorry about that.  I don't know what I was thinking."

Then later: "I've got the mother of all hangovers.  I really hate blood mages."

So it seems he was pretty strongly affected by it.

So I confused Anders and Fenris's >_>  However Carver made me laugh. though I think Fenris "Becareful" would have suited Anders better in my opinion.

Which is weird again because I feel Justice would have been going "WTF WTF!! Anders don't listen to it!!"  Or "Blood magic! Kill it!"

Carver made me laugh too.  Oh Carvy-poo.

The only reason I can think of as to why Justice didn't get "triggered" is that it was a very subtle form of blood magic.  She said it was "blood and desire in equal measure" and it seemed to have a very seductive edge to it, so maybe it just triggered such a strong physical reaction that Anders basically overpowered Justice at that point?  Eh, I really don't know and I don't think that makes a whole lot of sense.

Oh my sounds like something that happened in my fic.  Anders was drunk and telling Justice in his head how he liked Hawke's rear and Justice said it was a dstraction.  Anders came to the conclusion Justice knew this because he was looking too.  That spirit will never hear the end of it...
