Goddamnit.

WHY IS THIS NOT IN THE GAME.

TEEHEEHEE *girly giggles*

Oh they so did it.

I find it funny that some people comare them to Anders and Fenris... I think Anders would have bitten Fenris's head off for saying something like that, while Nate can make jabs at Anders and Anders can make jabs at Nate and it's more like trololololing one another.

Trololoboning maybe...   Note:  I still don't like Anders and Nate together, but the chance say trololboning was too great to resist.

I love Carver so much.  "You don't get to be a hero on my watch!".  And about Varric... "The dwarf has dropped a few more feet"... BAHAHAHAHA.  And about Izzy... "We would lose the fun one."  Tee hee hee.

EDIT: Okay, seriously Varric? "We lost whatsisname, the mage".  At least call him Blondie!

Carver's comment about Anders makes me giggle.  "The Warden is down.  That's not right."  Okay?

"Dear Varric, please learn to parry. Love, your innards" has got to be THE lamest line in the whole game.

I am extremely sad that I missed out on all the excellent conversation about loving/hating/adjusting to DA2 as compared to DA:O. :crying: It was a really great six or seven pages of reading though.

I know! I was so fired up about it, but the topic had moved on by the time I caught up.

You just drag stuff up from 10 pages back like I do. This is how we catch up and one day pass the Fenris thread.

Oh man, I really need to get my hands on all the sound files. You can tell how many are missing from that clip. That said, Sebastian is such a loser compared to the others.

OMG I am falling out of my chair I'm laughing so hard.  Why does he say that?!  Why the heck are his feet injured?  Never... stop... lol'ing...

EDIT: Okay, I guess that's his dialogue when he gets paralyzed or frozen in place or whatever?  Still.  It is not any less hilarious and ridiculous.

It's a conversation with Fergus's son in origins right before Fergus leaves and Oren gets killed. Oren wants a sword and somewhere in the conversation Fergus says something like "Don't worry Oren you'll get to see a sword up close real soon."

Oh, you know, I did catch that at some point. And then I chuckled blackly, as I recall. Bioware=wicked. Or maybe it's just Gaider.

Someone has a very dark sense of humor. Anders is the most brilliant troll creation I've seen from a developer ever - and he was years in the making. That's dedication.
I hope Bioware knows that I, for one, appreciate their efforts to manipulate me in such a twisted fashion.
(Even though it hurt. Ouch my <3. :crying:)

Right there with you. I love how when I look back I can see they've been planning this all along. "Oh, look, Anders is shiny! No you can't romance him. Now you can! Aren't you thrilled? MWAHAHAHA." I love Bioware so much just for all the ways they make me care and then screw me over so completely and I always know it's coming, but I never see it til it happens.

Especially when you go replay Awakenings and see their evil little minds at work.

The foreshadowing that we didn't even know was there at the time is deliciously evil when you go back. I <3 BW so much.

Hey, if the Warden and Hawke got into a fight, who would win?
And what would Anders do?

If it hasn't already been said... Anders would set up a convenient pool filled with Jello right behind them and then sit back and wait for the magic to happen.  Possibly using magic to surreptitiously tear their clothes a little bit.  It would be glorious.  Eventually, Hawke and the Warden would realize that Anders was giggling and leering like a dirty old perv and stop fighting each other to fight him.

And then things would really get kinky.  Alistair would not approve.

God I love reading your posts

Reply anyway, guys! Since we get a different batch of people on at different hours, you can respark the discussion and give the rest of us something to read when we get home or wake up!

Alistair, with his charming wit, flying dogs and love of cheese, and I just LOVE how you can tease each other, and even in DA2 he's still doing it by refering to you as "the old ball and chain". Alistair is just to be adored.

Anders is so much more complex, snarky, b*tchy, tortured and utterly a mess when you get down to it, but ultimately loving and sweet and he makes you want to hold him and tell him everything will be okay. Anders makes my heart ache constantly with how much I love him.

They're completely different, and if you asked me to pick, I couldn't.

I'd definitely pick Anders straight up. Sure, he's a mess by the end, but he's a mature man by the time you meet him, with his own life, goals, opinions, and job. He's willing to argue with Hawke, he will break up with you if you do something that goes against his principles, and he stands up for himself.

I like Alistair, but he was just kind of floating along, living the life that had been handed to him. He is, as he says, a follower, and he never really seems to make his own decisions or choose something for himself until the various Landsmeet outcomes. The awkward Persuasion/Intimidation checks make him seem easily swayed by the Warden's opinions and willing to go along with just about anything you choose to do.

Anders felt like a whole, complex person, but Alistair's sweetness didn't stop me from feeling that he was just waiting for the Warden to "complete" him.

Each to their own, of course (and I'm courting Alistair in the game I have open right now), but I know which I'd snap up.

Good points all. It never bothered me that Alistair was indecisive and a follower, though. His boyish charm and wit and romantic side made up for pretty much everything for me. By Act II of DA2 the first time through, everything was so dismal and I missed Alistair SO MUCH. And then I fell in love with Anders in such a completely different way.

"Varric, if you are faking, I will strangle you!"
"First person to help me out here, is my new best friend!"
"Alright, new strategy - HELP!!!"

I love the companions of this game.

Carver and Ander's concern for Hawke is sweet. <3
..er... as is Varric's loving concern for Bianca. XD

And... Merril, those words weren't even cuss words...
"Dwarf, Long journey... blood writing...?"

Yes, the thread never really moves on. It's more like it circles around and around like a toilet that won't flush.
