I did that scene, and I also managed to warn the High Priestess lady (But she was an idiot and kept herself glued to the Chantry). It was through Rivalmance, and I wasn't sure if this option was still available in Friendship as well. I'd post it, but I have an Xbox 360. Not a computer.

I never get the option to warn the High Priestess. D: Even on rivalry. 

No. Its right after you finish his little sidequest to gather ingredients for the "Tevinter potion."

You can question him at his clinic, and with the right selection of questions (And probably if Rival is 100%), he reveals that he plans to do something with the Chantry.

You can talk to Grand Cleric Eldina shortly after, even with Anders in your party.

Hawke is like "Anders has something planned for the Chantry. You may want to leave..."
And Eldina is all like "Nuh uh I ain't goin' no wherez."
And Anders is all like "**** WHUT!?"

After that dialogue, when I saw the Chantry go in flames, I really had no sympathy for Eldina or the church goers. I sufficiently warned her, and she did NOT take heed. In many ways, she was at as much fault as Anders was for killing all those people. She could have evacuated the church.

She didn't? ...
If she wanted to stay there - fine... but... <_<

I agree. Is it wrong that I want Ser Pounce a Lot DLC more than anything for DA2 right now? I think it's just, after all the depressing stuff, I just want a bit of happiness. I want epic Pounce adventures.

I thought the Wardens was all about fighting the blight, but do whatever you want on the side lines. So why 'get rid' of the cat? Aye, same here, if only to balance out the ratio of murderknives to runaways. The only thing about DA fiction (and ME fiction) is that people fall into the pit of the dreaded Sue-ish OC too easily. I haven't seen many good Hawke or Warden or Shepard-centric fics simply because people don't tone down the epic actions and it is very off-putting. There's only so much poor persecuted female mage Hawke I can take before I go batty. The trend of them being incredibly submissive is also somewhat grating.

It's sort of why I've never really supported PC/LI pairings. In Origins it was... well, no-one actually. Although the Teagan/Cullen crackfic I stumbled upon ages ago was...interesting.

In ME I was always more of a squaddie-mance supporter. (Kaiden/Ashley etc.)

In Awakening I eventually got dragged over to the Nathaniel/Anders camp much to my consternation at first. In fact one of the few Wardens I've seen done well is a male Cousland, which I actually wanted to know more about.

So I guess it'd be a bit hypocritical of me to write fic about my own male warrior Hawke... even if he does form a largely supportive role.

... not gonna lie, when Nate saw Anders and his face lit up, my fangirl alarms went off.   I think going through all of Anders's craziness was worth it just for that.  Just saying.

Unless they are outstandingly well written with actual FLAWED PCs.

That's typically why I only read Renegade Shepards, and in this case - probably RivalMance Anders / Pro-Templar Hawke. The few I've read in fanfic.net are pretty damn good, at least the ones that fit these categories. The others are a little difficult to digest, since they almost always cast Pro-Mage Mage Hawke as a tragic figure torn asunder by love and betrayal.

(I hate that term but that's apparently what we're calling ourselves now) I didn't even get it at first, then a helpful friend and fellow lecher pointed to the screen and said 'come on Niv, they are so covertly flirting! Coflirting!" and I was sat there squinting at the screen for a good five minutes before the lightbulb lit up in my brain.

Ah but alas I cannot ever find that fic again. I damn near cried when I realised I lost it. It was during one of my really long link-clicking sessions. Those ones you can never for the life of you retrace your steps to. Very sad. I've lost so much good art that way... Ah well, there's always the DA kink memes. Although some of that stuff I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole... I have to go through those with my eyes partially covered to avoid brain-scarring.

I was hoping for much more Nate/Anders banter in DA2, but hey. I'm happy with what I have.

(Incidentally, if I had to now pick an OT3 it'd be Nate/Anders/Male!Hawke. Rogue/Mage/Warrior. Full set, ne?)

Act 3, talking to Delilah to start the Finding Nathaniel quest. One of the ivestigate options is to ask Anders if tehy knew each other. He replies to the affirmative and wonders if Nathaniel ever found a sense of humour.

It made my little fangirl heart swell with happiness.

Yup, a shameless Nanders guy here. At first I thought I was just looking into things that aren't there, but I couldn't ignore Anders' flirty tone when Nathaniel asked him about his robes. From there, I started to support them as a couple. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen in DA2, but it should!

It is disappointing there wasn't enough interaction between the guys. For a moment at least, Anders was more like the Anders we knew in Awakening. Even when I thought Awakening!Anders was too Alistair-like, it was still awesome to see him like that again.

Btw, I like your idea of a Nate/Anders/m!Hawke OT3. Someone should totally make this.

EDIT: Anders is just a nickname, huh? Does that mean we get to play the guessing game?
