@Sialater: I think that's why they got rid of the triangle romance options in DA2. They could be incredibly buggy. Leliana was always pulling that crap, in the play through I did where I romanced Zev, same thing happened.
Me: So I wanted to ask if you're feeling better about Marjoline.
Leliana: Come on! Tell me I'm pretty! Come on come on!
Me: No.
Leliana: Tell me I could try to charm you.
Me: This is me, resisting.
Leliana: I love you!
Me: ... WHAT? No. I KNOW I didn't pick any romance options this time! I DID NOT. I avoided them all like the plague!
Leliana: We'll talk about this again soon.
Me: Zeeeeev!
Zev: So I notice you and Leliana have gotten close...
Me: *tears out hair* There is NO. ESCAPE.
Me: *reloads*
Leliana: I do not try to charm you because our friendship should be built on trust--
Me: So you're not in love with me?
Leliana: No. But I could be if you--
Me: *runs away*
I just stopped talking to her after a while *LOL* I'm really glad they don't have those kinds of bugs in DA2.
But there wasn't really a triangle option with Zev and Al. There was a broken romance flag which I lucked out in getting.
There wasn't? I can't remember now. Did they just make you choose right away? What happened to you?
Ejoslin explained what I must've done at one point, but I don't remember the specifics and I can't recreate it for the life of me. All I know is, I broke Zev. And breaking Zev broke Al. I think the only thing I did differently in my attempt to recreate the bug was that I didn't let Moira make out with Leliana first.
So, yes... my Chancellor Surana has an elf on the side that King Al's apparently OK with.
I wonder if something similar happened with me and I didn't realize it? Because I had one play through where towards the end, Zev started saying "Si mi amora" when I clicked on him and I had been with Alistair forever.
That's entirely possible. He did that to Moira. (There's a reason she's romantically indecisive in my fic.) It didn't really occur to me there was a problem when I found that I'd gotten his romance dialog at the gate when she left him behind.
I keep wondering if there's a way to break the romances in DA2. But I'm pretty sure Anders and Fenris would just kill each other.

I don't expect him to be able to stand by or live with that decision but I can completely see how he could make it. He's in shock, horrified at what Justice made him do, horrified at how little control he has over Justice, and probably in a state where he feels he cannot trust his own judgment. It's that saarebas mentality where he just gives in and accepts that he's dangerous, out of control and that he does not even have the capacity to understand how much of a danger he is. He's deferring to Hawke as his "arvaarad", because while he would certainly be making a different decision, he does not trust himself.
He's probably not thinking about it the consequences of such a choice, either. I doubt he's focused on much other than trying to keep Justice down at that point.

Anyway... man, I should pull that game out just to see what he says at the gate.
Yeah, I can't see broken romances between Anders and Fenris turning out well. Unless it ends with a threesome.

Anders siding with Templars: Seriously. Did you not HEAR the man in Awakening get angry and rail against the chantry and their treatment of mages? Did you not pay attention to his anger about templars or maybe MISS his totally lack of give a crap about the dead Templars in the Vigil after "I didn't do it"? Then he says it all AGAIN in DA2. it is not only OOC to have him fight FOR the templars, it's OOC across TWO GAMES that he's been in now. And it's REALLY OOC for an Anders possessed by JUSTICE who has been plotting to blow the tin can headed jerks up!

Ooh, I really like the saarebas-arvaarad comparison. I'm with you on this, I don't think it's OOC, it just shows how completely broken Anders is by that point.

Yeah, I don't see how Anders can just go on living after that. There's nothing Hawke or anyone else can do to mend him. Even if Hawke cannot kill him he will just waste away, imo.

He basically begs you to kill him in the missing post-explosion rivalry dialogue. He isn't exactly flipping out and having a great big psychotic tantrum, but you can tell he's not all there.shiba5 wrote...
I think I'd be more convinced if he weren't so calm in the video. I hope if they do add it back in that there's more to it.
Yeah. He really needs to either kill himself or be executed in that ending. Even the incredibly depressing mental state Anders would need to not immediately self-destruct aside, there's no way Hawke's political opponents would let him/her touch the Viscount's seat with Anders alive. The both of them would be assassinated pretty much immediately.yukidama wrote...
@ipgd and inzhuna- That's why I'm not strictly against the rivalry/Templar ending for Anders as much as I am against it if there isn't consequence. To me, Anders has to die in that ending, whether by his own hand or Hawke's or someone else's. It seems stupid IF not only you get to break Anders to the point where he'll defer to Hawke to that extent but ALSO get to run off all trololol and ~Anders never left your side~. In the rivalry/templar end he's extremely broken. He needs to die after all he's done and his dialogue reflects the desire, the need, to die. It just makes for a crappy ending if you push a character to that point and there are no repercussions.

Heh, that's pretty much how I thought of his and Moira's and Al's relationship.
In an Anders/Hawke/Fenris threesome, Hawke would be too busy referreeing to have any fun. LOL

Zevran's dialogues at the gate are really broken. If you're in a romance, he gives his "friendly" speech, and if he's friendly, he gives his "warm" speech. Ejoslin's Zev mod fixes it so that you actually get the right one. (It's nice to be able to tell Zev you love him ;D).
And I agree that with Anders and Fenris, broken romances would be a bit of a cluster ****. Of course, I also really can't see Anders/Fenris slash working in any realistic way.
(Edited for failed quotes and grammar heh)
