After months of complaining about me talking about nothing else, the boy has now disappeared for the last 48 hours. He is lost, I fear.

I swear I was staring at a loading screen for 5 minutes. That was ridculous. Then there would be the random lag during cutscenes.
I periodically have these freezes running through High Town (and only High Town) that require me to completely restart my computer. I don't know what that's about.
No freezes for me.
But sometimes I have the eternal loading screen....where it never stops loading.
And one bug where the texture disappears...making Kirkwall and some people white.
FUUUU I got that one during the end of the game. Along with Templar!Carver's shining white hair. Only the ground and Meredith were affected by it.
I only secretly wish Carver had the super saiyan hair, that would of been perfect.

I was watching my fiance play the final battle over the weekend, and Carver had white hair. I think he was seeing the same stylist as Fenris.

It's Act III, when Anders is going through the worst of his possession (apparently), and he just seems so much more like his old pre-possession self that I can't help but wonder if being able to go back to the Wardens would do him good.
Not that he can any more...<_<

Ah, the stress finally got to him then. That or being in his big sister/brother's shadow too long turned his hair white. XD
It'll be Hawke's fault, regardless.<_<

Or if it would at least help for him to be around more of his old friends. Because I completely agree that he seems really light hearted during the Nate quest. It was nice to see in Act 3, but it certainly made me wonder.

Maybe this has been covered in 850 some pages (probably), but I wonder if there would be nearly the outrage if Anders had just killed Elthina - or Hawke had. Is it the exploding building that makes people go all nutty? People are getting slaughtered left and right the entire game, and some of them are more innocent than Elthina.
Can't speak for others, so here's just my personal opinion. That moment was a punch in the gut for me for the following reasons. My Hawke was a mage who loved Anders and wanted freedom for mages. Anders lied to and used Hawke. He betrayed Hawke's trust. He killed innocents. Even if someone thinks Elthina needed killing, she wasn't the only one there. The chantry attack was not just heinous and unjustified, but massively counterproductive. Unless you're Anders and starting a war is your goal, obviously. My Hawke and Anders had very different goals. Hawke didn't think Elthina needed to die, but her outrage wasn't about Elthina, see below.
Short term, yeah, he freed the Kirkwall Circle mages. Those that survived the battle anyway, and aren't blood mages, because I don't count freeing them as any kind of win. Long term, there's a war, and the hearts and minds of the people in Kirkwall are, if anything, more anti-mage than before. If the mages "win" the war, they'll still be hated and feared by those they defeated. If they lose, the time of Circles and templars will be remembered as the good old days of leniency and tolerance. Way to go, Anders.
Blow up the chantry, kill the grand cleric, then watch the people build another chantry, bring in another grand cleric, and fear mages even more, because you haven't actually changed what the people want and believe.
Anders got SO stabbed in that playthrough, but he stabbed Hawke in the back first (figuratively).
My Hawke would have wanted Anders to write off Kirkwall as a lost battle, retreat, regroup, and wage a non-terrorist campaign. It worked for Ghandi and dr. King. It was working for Anders, in Act 1, before Grace and Co ****ed it up. The people he helped were willing to fight to protect mages from templars! If he just blew up one of their friends or relatives in the chantry, they may feel differently now.
As for other innocents getting slaughtered left and right in the game, that's very different. It's not Hawke, or Hawke's lover, doing the slaughtering. Hawke tries to stop the slaughter (or doesn't care about it, when I play rotten Hakwe).
And yet... I still feel such sympathy for Anders. Man's tortured and mistaken, not evil. I desperately want him and Hawke to stay together. So I'm on my 4th playthrough, which was supposed to be an Izzy romance, but I suspect Anders will derail it. Hawke #4 will have a compulsion to heal Anders, so no stabbing.
I'm just repeating what I've said before, but I too would not want to go through 850 pages.

Bethany had white hair during my last playthrough, but only while we were fighting Orsino. Magic hair dye, I guess.
I've heard tales of her having a different hairstyle in the Deep Roads if she's a Warden too. And then magically, her hair returns to the original style come the final battle.

I think I'd be more convinced if he weren't so calm in the video. I hope if they do add it back in that there's more to it.
Ah ok, I've only seen the bit at the Gallows where he's all kissy face with Hawke. Now, I think that scene would be perfect if Hawke is sliding a dagger in him at the same time, but I don't get that impression.
There are more lines somewhere but hell if I can find them.
Those are some interesting bits, but they make the kiss scene that much weirder IMO - unless there's a killing sequence later that no one has seen yet.
I agree. Unless it's a goodbye kiss, I really don't understand it at all. If they run away together a la the friendship ending... that just seems like even more of a disaster for poor Anders mental health. He can't keep fighting Vengeance forever; he's already almost lost.
When you side with the Templars, Hawke's reasoning seems to be mostly about restoring order to Kirkwall rather than necessarily being inherently opposed to mages. Perhaps from that perspective I can understand Anders going along with Hawke. But after going through Kirkwall killing mages and whatnot, I imagine Anders isn't in a healthy place (mentally). So getting a goodbye kiss makes sense at this point, since his plans likely involve imminent death.

Except that I don't think this is the case. Meredith is the nutty one - she's the one who insists that the Kirkwall Circle be purged and everyone, including Sebastian to a certain extent go WTF? The Mages didn't do this! Anders did! The missions show that there's a hell of a lot of sympathy for mages even in Kirkwall where people are being attacked by blood magic every three seconds. The TEMPLARS refuse to kill Hawke at the end. Anders was completely willing to take the blame for the Chantry bombing - all he wanted was to spark the war, force the other mages into rebellion, which is what he did.
Honestly I think most of Thedas just wishes mages would go away, but if they have family or friends who are mages (and a lot of them seem to) I think the sympathy is actually more towards them than the Templars. It might have been different when the circles were first created, but these days, especially in places like Ferelden, and especially if your Warden was a mage, mages are the ones the population are going to come down on the side of.

That was when I walked away from my computer for awhile to decide what I wanted to do. He betrayed my trust, so I was mad at him. He killed the cleric and launched a war and tried to protect me from myself. (When I say me, I'm talking about my Hawke here. haha) So, I was angry about him patronizing me. I didn't like Elthina, and thought she and the whole system needed taken down - just not that way. I didn't have a choice though so... gut punch moment.
I did not kill him. I decided he was the only thing my Hawke had left in the world and decided to roll with it. I didn't like how he pops up and it was like all was forgiven so I had to imagine the severe and prolonged beat down he received later - followed by cuddling. My Hawke was a harsh mistress.
I still think if people had been given the option to take out the Chantry themselves, you'd see a lot of different responses other than "Anders BAD!" Plus, you know, the flirting thing enraged some of them. derp.

Am I the only one who's thrilled of that option because it's so miserable and nasty to everyone involved? I'd def. want to do it on one playthrough, in addition to my "yay let's blow up the chantry together and kill all templars" and "poor sod rest in peace" playthroughs.
