Yup, a shameless Nanders guy here. At first I thought I was just looking into things that aren't there, but I just couldn't ignore Anders' flirty tone when Nathaniel asked him about his robes. From there, I started to support them as a couple. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen in DA2, but it should!

It is disappointing there wasn't enough interaction between the guys. For a moment at least, Anders was more like the Anders we knew in Awakening. Even when I thought Awakening!Anders was too Alistair-like, it was still awesome to see him like that again.

I like your idea of a Nate/Anders/m!Hawke OT3. Someone should totally make this. ^_^

Oh, yes. That line, and the delivery. "Not when I'm naked." You can just hear that wicked eyebrow-wiggling smirk.

Haha! First person I've admitted that OT3 to who hasn't immediately gone 'wait, what?' It's also nice to see the guys getting in on it too, not just the girls ^^

Hawke's Giant's Reach (yay for perverting skill tree abilities. Not so passive anymore), Nate's rogueish flexibilty and Anders' sparklefingers. Oh my. Posted Image I always thought the romance path was better with a male Hakwe *shrugs*. Just the way I roll I suppose.

I admit I never really fixated much on the 'Anderstair' issue. I found Anders infinitely more charming for some reason.

Edit: Alas that I have no images to post.

Unless they are outstandingly well written with actual FLAWED PCs.

That's typically why I only read Renegade Shepards, and in this case - probably RivalMance Anders / Pro-Templar Hawke. The few I've read in fanfic.net are pretty damn good, at least the ones that fit these categories. The others are a little difficult to digest, since they almost always cast Pro-Mage Mage Hawke as a tragic figure torn asunder by love and betrayal.

bleugh.

Bleugh indeed.  I've always felt that mage Hawke needs to be an incredibly strong person, not a tragic one.  Being an apostate and having the responsibility of taking care of your family at only eighteen years old or so (Malcolm dies three years prior to DA2 and I've always thought of Hawke as being 20-30 during the game) means you have to be resilient.

It made me think of that when you get the option to ask Anders if he and Nathaniel had a history together. Wasn't the response I was expecting, but a man can dream, can't he? XD

Wait, WHAT?  When?? (What does he say?)

Act 3, talking to Delilah to start the Finding Nathaniel quest. One of the ivestigate options is to ask Anders if tehy knew each other. He replies to the affirmative and wonders if Nathaniel ever found a sense of humour.

It made my little fangirl heart swell with happiness.

Well I never got the Nate quest, so :(

I dunno, my Hawke is someone who was initially sarcastic but sweet-tempered (she was even nice to templars) and by the end of act 2, she was so bitter and mentally scarred that she wasn't far behind Anders in the 'Unstable Mages Gone Wild' race. Mage Hawke can really go to extremes due to circumstances, I think.

Gaider and the other devs love to mess with us fans so much. It pleases me and breaks my brain at the same time.

I...I...what? What? It's not his real name?

*brain dribbles out of ears* Buuuuuh...

You know that now makes me think of how people call Hawke 'Fereldan'.... My next Hawke is having Fereldan as his first name...

DLC... or a book. Either or.

I hope his name is something godawful embarrassing. Like so bad that when Varric finds out, he continues to call him Blondie just so he won't destroy Anders's dignity in public.

That's very true.  Especially since mage Hawke has the added pressure of being a target of the templars him/herself.  I just figure that if you've been an apostate for so long and kept you and your sister out of templar reach for three years after your father's death, you've got to have some strength to you.

Also, Anders doesn't really help mage Hawke's situation, at least on the friendship path.  Sure, he gave my mage Hawke hope that she could actually fight the templars instead of running from them, but in the process, he created an advocate for the mages who was even more ruthless (and far more mentally stable) than him.  He made her a better, less selfish person, and in the process, forged one of the most dangerous people in Thedas.

It's Reginald.

Also, I have to wonder if Gaider is serious or if he's just messin' with us. Which he won't tell us anyway so

"You can call me Dan, for short."
Messair/Messer and Sera/Serah are also good first names. xD

No, I don't think he is in the least bit. When I see the name "Anderfels", "Anders" is the first thing that pops into my mind. This was never, ever mentioned to or hinted at, so it may not have started off like that ... but apparently, it is now.

Maybe he just thought Anders sounded better than his previous name.

Something like "Eugene Fitzherbert" just doesn't sound as nice in the history books.

Second that. As a mage Hawke I felt more and more upset, and at the end you're just like: "you know what? I've tried to be nice, I've tried to help out figure out your differences but you're all given up to madness so go to hell and see if I care."

Which is why I couldn't kill Anders, even though he's consummed more with vengeance and dangerous his strength of will is freaking amazing compared to anyone else influenced by demons or lyrium in the entire game, if anyone is strong enough to be saved it's him.

Reginald Horatio von Tricklesthrop.

Pass that name onto your kids/kittens/baby shades.

Oh, that's awful -- in that he was considering how his name would go down in history STOP DOING THAT ANDERS! It's not about you, ya selfish dog!

But it's also awful in that ... he gave his private possessions away, or at least tried to (Varric, pillow), but this private thing, he kept. Either he doesn't know it, or doesn't like it. Or we're puppets.

Clearly, the only answer is that "ANDERS" NEVER LOVED YOU.

LOL, this.

Hawke:  Your name is Muriel?
Varric:  ::choking he's laughing so hard:: That... that's a girl's name!
Anders: It's a family name!

And now we start calling him "Anders" in quotes and adding after every mention with "if that's even your real name, ser." =P
