As for writing fanon vs. canon, I write whatever I want. The story's either canon or not, people can like it or not. But then, I live in Supernatural fandom where they're not always picky about canon. We don't have debates about canon unless it's about Brotherf*cking vs. Just Brothers. And even those arguments died after a couple years.

If my Hawke's felt like it was a one time thing, yeah, it would be the same for me. But I just can't... play a Hawke that wouldn't follow Anders to the end of the world by the end of the game. That's totally a me thing. I'm either all in or all out, I'm extreme like that.

I can understand something like that. It took the DR for me to buy Morrigan and Alistair wilingly sleeping with each other.  

Yeah Supernatural . HP can get so...so vicious. I have to admit debating about sexism in the book and the pedestal motherhood was placed on was interesting. 

LOL yeah I can only imagine the "look...we need to talk." some of my Hawkes had after Anders blew up the Chantry. A couple of my rivalry aggressive Hawkes probably would've just beat the s*** out of him as soon as they were safe.

But of course with the forced friendship most of my Hawke's are pretty much on their knees and staring at that creature that pretends it's Anders. 

Yeah that doesn't help his case. At all. Why should anyone trust mages if the second their backs are against the wall rather than surrender and hope for mercy (like those mages that beg you for their lives) they turn to bloodmagic and demons? 

I never played that, but I always felt like Alistair would have done it at least so we could both live. And I would have done it for him, if I could've.

I Supernatural fandom, we're mostly depraved as hell and we're okay with that. *G* But there are definitely debates I've got caught up in. Not so much about OMG CANON, as it could be seen this way.

I can see punching him, making him sleep on the couch for a few nights, for sure. My Hawke in that situation would be all... you're on the couch INFINITY. okay...... a for few nights..... okay, one night..... and half of that, because we won't be sleeping for the first half. Oh, hell, just remind me to punish you at some point, Anders. Preferably when we're both naked.

It hurts me to think of your characters on your knees looking at him like that. 

I guess it was all he had left, considering the bulk of the circle WERE blood mages after all. *shakes head* *hates/loves Bioware for making everything suck*

@Kawamura - I would make you a mod that replaces the spiders with something non-traumatizing, if I were a DA modder, but I haven't bothered to learn. If I ever do though, I promise spiders->pancakes will be my first mod.

Weird, when Anders confronted me during my templar playthrough there were no demons nor any bloodmages.  It was the easiest fight out of all of them and I just stood to the side and let Fenris kill Anders and the others kill the other mages.

I facepalmed so hard at that. So hard.

The dialogue with a snarky Hawke felt so lame and anti climatic.

"Lol let's member the good ol' times yes?... No?.." >_>

We were good friends and my Hawkette was doing it to try to save the city from a war... (she be clueless and thought the war wouldn't start if this was dealt with swiftly)... Anders was super sad and the whole exchange was almost poetic.
Plus Fenris then got a chance to kill him.  It was... well... BEAUTIFUL.  Majestic.
Except for Anders dying.  And me crying like a silly woman because my Anders was dying wahhhhhhhh.
Diplomatic Hawke though.

I kid.  Hawkette was more like "oh gawds, I can't do this" and Fenris was all like "Don't you worry babe, I've got this".  And then before Fenris or anyone could do anything, Anders wasted a gawd damn spell freezing me in place and Fenris got really pissed and KO-ed him without mercy.  I swear he smirked over Anders' dead body .  I was too busy being frozen and looking around at the other mages getting decimated by Fenris et all.

I'm glad Varric killed him in my game, not Fenris.  It just doesn't seem right.  At least Hawke and Varric cared about Anders.  Thinking about Fenris doing a happy dance in his head about getting to kill Anders makes me sadface.  ;_;

When Anders froze Hawke in place to kill her, I almost sobbed with nostalgia.  My personal battle cry in Awakening was always "GODDAMNIT, ANDERS" (even back then, lol) because he would freeze my Warden into place accidentally at least once during every. single. fight.  It was annoying yet hilarious, and I got all wibbly when I saw him doing it to Hawke... even though it was intentional and not funny that time.  ;___;

Gah, all this talk of killing Anders is so depressing.  It's not my canon at all; I only did it for science!  He's currently dead in my pro-templar Charlotte Hawke's playthrough, but that's only because I'm waiting to see if the rivalry dialogue gets patched before I replay Act 3 with her.  (I plan to have her side with the mages and spare Anders, though.  The templar thing was mostly because I'm an achievement ****.)

Aww don't cry.  I could never kill Anders...unless he sacrafices babies to summon demons...then I would do it as a act of mercy.  Or that is the time I wake from a really bad nightmare...

Honestly my canon Hawke was to far gone herself and to in love to kill him.  Not to mention Flemeths words were echoing in both our heads.  So my Hawke took the Jump with Anders, and she prayed one of them was a dragon.  Honestly his ending to me is like the ultimate test of love, how far will you follow someone you love, and will you be strong enough to put them back together after they break.  My Hawke was praying she will be.

Also why I don't like the rivalmance personally, the way I look at it "There is no pleasure in smashing an already broken mirror, unless you like blood on your hands."

Okay back to writing.

Well, I could either continue with my fourth playthrough of DA2 (all with the same PC because I am obsessed with her and Anders), or I could play some Arrival.  I go play Arrival, and if any of you have played it, that turns out SPECTACULARLY WELL for me too <_<

At least with Shepard I get to be an interstellar badass.  It was a nice reprieve from Hawke, who is fate's buttmonkey.

Everyone was talking about their Hawke/Anders romance.
I must say... am I the only one that plays mages that are super pro-mage (other than killing friendly templars who try to help) and are with Anders because they admire him and are also all for the mission?

I dunno, my canon Hawke is totally pro-mage and while she's not feeling all that great about the "OMG innocents", she really doesn't give a hoot about Elthina, the chantry or the rich in Hightown. I'm sure her solution would have involved Meredith's head on a platter and some flogging for Elthina, but what's done is done, the ends have been achieved and it's time to put actions behind words. I don't think Anders would have to hide anything from her, she's proven that she's for the mission, she wants something better for the mages and she will always stand by him.

I wish there was an option for a kiss, but other than that I liked my romance ending. My Hawke was totally with the head on the battle and the next steps to come. I am quite certain that Anders et company will be dragged to the war-front after they leave Kirkwall. She's not a woman to sit idle and want some comfort and peace and love. She wants her revolutionary mage lover at her side.

She's probably more driven and pro-mage than Anders himself, she'd give Justice a run for his money.
