Where does this panty joke come from anyway? Is it something I missed because of the DLCs?

I think forced traqnuility is wrong.
Maybe it helps that I'm almost a Buddhist? That might be why it doesn't sound all that bad? I mean, outside of forcingp people. That's bad.

LAWL. My Hawke would punch him to within an inch of his life. Then couch him for a month and rage about him to anyone who'd listen

I don't she slept much around arc two and on.
Well, she did have Anders living in her estate
But seriously, my mage Hawke had a very stressful time of it between Act 2 and Act 3. She basically took up the reins of helping Kirkwall's mages, but she had to walk this fine line; hardly slept or ate regularly for the better part of three years. The problem with an apostate Hawke as Champion is that if you f*** up, Meredith has legal recourse to lock you up. She even threatens you with it if you mouth off to her.
I also found out that Hawke wasn't auto made Viscount because she/he wasn't sucking off the templar's That all the Viscounts got their place because they sat under the templar's thumbs. I just think my Hawke was more then tired by the end of the game, and was begging for change.
Also the lighter note of Anders living there, the headache line would never work again. She had no hope!

As a forced thing, yes. As a voluntary thing, well, I dunno. Of course, there's no such thing as voluntary tranquilling in Thedas, as the alternative is death.

He would have died then. Blowing up the Chantry? We can work around that. Playing a joke on being Tranquil? I murder him.

That's not true.
Apprentices are allowed to petition for tranquilityif they think for whatever reason they can't pass their harrowing. Did...Jowan or someone say this? I need to check. In the Magi origin you can convince one girl to go through with it. I'm sure there's other reasons given that a mage can volunteer for tranquility.
It's more of a "who would?" thing though.

Well, if they think they're gonna fail the harrowing, it's still basically tranquility or death.

Actually with the girl I don't think it was for that reason. I need to reload that but she kept going on about how wicked she was and you can go "so be tranquil?" and she mutters that's a great idea and she runs off to petiton for it. I'm not sure if she was an apprentice or not. I Need to check.

So like Cake or Death just no cake? Shame the circle should have cake, I bet things would be better.

Mmwah, is it really voluntary at that point? Your alternative is going through the Harrowing, ****ting your pants and failing it and then being killed. Because you have to choose between Harrowing and being made tranquil in any case.
It'd be voluntary if there was also the option not to pick either of them.
It's very Qun actually. Choose to exist or not exist!

I think my Hawke would sob in relief and then beat him within an inch of his life. Then she'd feel bad, make sure he got all healed up, and then beat him up again. And when he healed from that, he would have to find inventive, possibly sparklefingered ways to make it up to her.

Looks like you were frolicking in ink.
Yeah, the shadows move and change when you walk, so it's kind of like Rorshach's mask but in robes. Kinda creepy when you notice that it also affects the hands.
"I'm not a mage I just wear these robes ironically and that fireball I just shot at those dudes over there is totally just a combustion grenade and mages are normal people just like you and me *WINKWINK*"
"I'm not a mage. It's just a pretty dress and a spear."
Hmm I think this works better for a FHawke than a MHawke though.

Yeah, Gaider commented on another thread today about the very same thing. There are mages who have become voluntarily Tranquil, but it's exactly as you said -- "Who would do that voluntarily?"

You won't necessarily go through the Harrowing. And that's not why thegirl did it. She did it because she saw herself as wicked and sinful and hated herself.nekhbet wrote...

That would be my Hawke as well. Sob with relief, punch him, kiss him, punch him again, and oh, you are SOOOO going to be making this up to me for the rest of my life with sparklefingers.
