I'm the same. All my Hawkes end up with the same face and basically the same personality. I don't mean to do it, but it just keeps happening. And I talk to the screen ALL THE TIME.

Really?  I find it almost worse knowing what's coming.  Especially in Act 2 right after his romance kicks in.  There's a period of about five or six quests there where everything is WONDERFUL.  Hawke and Anders are in LOVE, Aveline's doing her flailing, everything's adorable...

Then Leandra dies, the Arishok goes crazy, and Meredith takes over.  Great <_<  I just get such a feeling of impending doom now that I know what happens.

I am usually cheering him on...  It's also the same reason I spare that Female "strongly worded letter" Bloodmage in the Circle Tower.  But then again I hate the Chantry's ideologies and their hypocrisies with blood magic and using lyrium to control templars.

Well, actually I did manage a Fenris rivalmance once. I really want to try the others but I don't know if I can resist Anders for another whole playthrough. If I don't romance him, he'll be lying awake nights aching for me ok?

You feel the same as me.  Shepard and the Warden I had multiple characters but Hawke is hard for me to play anything other than my canon.

I cheer him on too, but he is so broody by Act 3 - he needs a kick in the pants. If only they'd put PDA in the game. *weeps

When I've replayed my canon Hawke, I would say it's been easier emotionally. Sure, knowing what happens at the end makes the happy parts sadder, but it also makes the sad parts easier. The first time I played I went from the start of the romance at the beginning of the day and finished playing when I finished Justice. I didn't spoil anything for myself, but it was easy to tell something terrible was going to happen. So until I finished the game, it was just constant DOOM feeling.

This time around, however, I know what's going to happen and I've had time to come to terms with it. So when it gets to the more depressing parts its waaaay less stressful or sad than it was the first time.

I think that only happens if you actually flirt with him in act 1<_<

Fenris's friendromance is incredibly sweet, definitely worth doing. I'm curious about the girls' ones too, they should be interesting.

It IS fun.  I made an entire run to friendmance Seb just because hubby hates him.  Naturally, I was forced to take him on every single mission the entire game.

GODDAMNIT.  My boyfriend plays more Blizzard games than BioWare.  Not that I don't also love Blizz's games, but he prefers to watch me play BioWare games rather than play them himself.  Which means I can't torment him.  It just gets really awkward whenever Anders turns up, because he and my bf look so similar.

I thought that even if you don't flirt with him in act 1 and you initiate the romance in act 2 during Questioning Beliefs he still says that line?

Is Fenris's friendmance a lot different from the rivalmance? I liked Fen's rivalmance...just not sure if I want to do him again...

We're currently taking alts all the way from level 1 to end-game with about twenty of our other friends.  Currently sitting at level 55 or so, though I'm a few levels behind thanks to Pokemon and DA2.

And if I tried to pimp Gabe out, I think he'd just tickle me until I shrieked for mercy.  He says that BioWare romances are like the equivalent of trashy romance novels for me

My husband plays. He claims to think Anders is a jerk, but I think I'm slowly wearing him down. His first Hawke told him to leave after the Chantry. His latest Hawke not only told Anders to stay, but he then had Anders in his team through the whole end of the game.

Oh, and best of all, he loves this thread. Granted, he only experiences its glory through me. But even reflected Anders thread glory is a wonderous thing to behold.

Pretty sure my husband is going to love Anders. He loved both him and Justice in Awakening and hates the Chantry and the Templars. I hope I'm not proven wrong. Maker, why does he take so long to play?

My husband's been through Carth, Atton Rand, Sky, Kaidan, Garrus, Alistair, Zevran, and now Anders and Fenris.

He'll live.
