Hehe, yours too? He looks eerily similar to my husband. My mother-in-law wants to pimp him out to Cons.
We played WoW for 6 years. Finally kicked that bad habit.

We're currently taking alts all the way from level 1 to end-game with about twenty of our other friends.  Currently sitting at level 55 or so, though I'm a few levels behind thanks to Pokemon and DA2.

And if I tried to pimp Gabe out, I think he'd just tickle me until I shrieked for mercy.  He says that BioWare romances are like the equivalent of trashy romance novels for me

edit for top... I don't have any new pics so look at this one again.

Sorry to interrupt everyone, but I heard some interesting stuff going on in the patch forum threads.

Apparently some people think Anders is supposed to join a pro-templar Hawke if he's at max (friendship or rivalry), even if not romanced and whatnot.
Where do these people get this info from?! I thought this was solely reserved for rivalry romance if you take certain conversation choices... not for anyone with maxed out bar.  And definitely not for a friendmanced Anders.

They are confusing my head!

Anyone have any ideas?

Hepler seemed to indicate that he was only supposed to join you on the rivalry path.

My husband growled when I suggested we get him some feathered pauldrons. I guess that's out.
He's a bit jealous of my trashy game romance.

I object to this disparaging of our classy, highbrow game.  There's not nearly enough (pants) for it to be a trashy romance.  There is only one man with an open Fabio shirt, and you can't romance him!  There is NO bodice ripping at all!  I've looked.  Looked thoroughly and carefully.

Yeah, that's all I ever heard. Just on rivalry.

Even if not romanced? My husband wants to know because he wants to break him into mage bits. He's a bit of a ******.

When I've replayed my canon Hawke, I would say it's been easier emotionally. Sure, knowing what happens at the end makes the happy parts sadder, but it also makes the sad parts easier. The first time I played I went from the start of the romance at the beginning of the day and finished playing when I finished Justice. I didn't spoil anything for myself, but it was easy to tell something terrible was going to happen. So until I finished the game, it was just constant DOOM feeling.

This time around, however, I know what's going to happen and I've had time to come to terms with it. So when it gets to the more depressing parts its waaaay less stressful or sad than it was the first time.

This is my experience as well. I was so effing stressed out the first time. I wasn't spoiled but I figured out he was bombing the chantry LONG before it actually happened and I was... a mess wondering what would happen in the aftermath. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!! Now I'm all like, yeah, LOL, whatevs, we can run off into the sunset together. My characters don't feel that way, but >I'm< not stressed.

LOL.  Thank you :D  You probably would've laughed had you seen me me tear out my hair dealing with the epic angst.  Why does Seb have to be at loggerheads with my Hawke?  I love that character, and she ends up killing him :crying:

Been lurking here for a while now. I just wanted to pop in and add my support to Anders. He was one of my favorites in DA1. (That includes DA:O and DA:A combined) When I heard he was not only a companion in DA2 but also a LI, I jumped for joy.

I am a fan of tragic characters and you don't get much more tragic then Anders.

My absolute favorite Anders art.

Since everyone is talking... I cannot make my boyfriend play Dragon Age, but he plays Mass Effect at least.
I think he has something against medieval settings. But he'd totally be romancing Isabela and cheering Anders on. My bf is 100% behind the JENGA of the chantry.
He's just not behind me talking about Anders all the time. o.O

Well, you made me feel sorry for Seb, and I don't really care much for him in the game.

OMG Atton Rand... I forgot about him. Stupid, rushed, unfinished game... *grumble

edit: remember when you couldn't advance his romance farther than playing cards with him or something? Wow, was that frustrating.

He IS a saint.  I tell him this frequently.   It helps that personality-wise, he's like a mix of Alistair, Garrus and Kaidan.

Atton is LOVE.  I still haven't decided whether Anders has stolen Atton's crown of favoritest pixel dude EVER.

And as for Seb, I must be one of the few people who loves both Seb and Anders.  I got the same vibe from Seb that I did from Cailan: he's an incredibly decent guy who has the bad luck of being a) in a dark fantasy setting and B) painfully Wrong Genre Savvy.  If DA2 was his story, he'd totally be the protagonist and my Hawke would be his villain.  But it doesn't work that way, and I feel TERRIBLE for him because of it.

Attonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!! I swear he is like my numero uno LI EVER. I would be happy to never see Fenris again if Atton's story arc was complete.

I didn't mean it Fenris, don't be mad!

...No, I meant it.

Mine is usually a saint, but he's about halfway in the doghouse tonight because he gave my new video card the stinkeye. He doesn't get my obsession with making the PC "melt polar icecaps".

Did Kotor 2 ever get "fixed"? I played it twice, but since half the story was missing, it was just so depressing.

I can't stand Sebastian... but then over-zealous religious maniacs who want to murder my favoritest characters aren't my type :P

EDIT: I said Fenrius originally (silly me)

I love Atton Rand SOOOOOO MUCH.  It was only a fraction of a "romance" if at all yet for whatever reason he completely stole my heart.  I think Anders beats him, but Atton is in 2nd place for sure.

And I just don't like Seb.  I'm really not 100% sure why, since usually I'm defending the wholesome "decent guy" characters.  But he really rubs me the wrong way.  He has taken Disciple's place as #1 on my list of videogame character to push down a flight of stairs.  Actually, he and Discple are the only ones even on that list.  Hmm.  Maybe it's their serenity?  Just something about their placid voices makes me want to attack them?  I dunno.

EDIT:  Oh wait, you meant Seb.  He's actually quite moderate until Act 3 forces his hand.  He doesn't push his beliefs on the others, and he only really gets upset about the mages if you rivalry him and he actually cares.  Even then, he doesn't do anything until the Chantry and Elthina are directly threatened by the Resolutionists.

I don't know.  I ahve it for xbox, so I never really paid attention to the restoration project since it wouldn't effect me.  But when I heard about all the scenes that were cut, especially the ones at the end, I cried tears to create a thousand floods.

My boyfriend is usually a saint, too.
I once walked into the bedroom and went, "You know how I like to savor the last shot before popping the heat sink."
And he was like, "Yes. You know just what I like, baby." He had no idea what I was talking about, but he just played along. XD

But right now I'm PO'd. He keeps blackmailing me into playing RE5 so he can watch. He's too much of a sissy to play it himself. I keep explaining to him that if I , the ultimate blubbery sissy of all time, who couldn't even comfortably watch "Scary Movie" because of the gore in it, can play it, HE CAN.

Are you sure they weren't single perfect tears cried out of your differently colored eyes?
