OMG, my friend is still trying to stop Anders from blowing up the Chantry. I got an email, and it says, "I think you may be right..."

I TOLD HIM!

My fiance asked me right after the Chantry blew if there was anything he could have done to stop it, and I told him there's no stopping Anders.

Him: Nothing?
Me: No, nothing. There's nothing you can do.
Him: But...
Me: No.
Him: What if I don't help him with his quest?
Me: No. Always. He'll find a way to do it without you.

He wasn't really a fan of that. We've also gotten into a few small arguments about Anders, and I think there's a tacit agreement not to talk about him anymore.

I told him back on March 30th that it was a fixed event. I guess he's been trying this whole time.

Any indication of when the next patch will come out?

I believe it was said it should take around the same amount of time 1.02 took to come out sadly. :crying: I'll double check.

Edit: Blast. I'll just ask.

What about for console....???? :crying:

Pokemon didn't exist when I was a kid. I had an Atari 2600, AND a Commodore 84, when they were the PEAK technology. People were all, wow, you have a COMPUTER?

Atari 400, here, when I was 4.  I still have it, and it still works, so every now and then I can haul it out for Pac-Man, Frogger, Q*bert, Centipede, you name it....

I also did my first programming on it, back in the day (not when I was four, but pretty early on ;) .  Oh, nostalgia.  It was BASIC, it looked exactly like this -- http://en.wikipedia....asicExample.png -- and I was making branching choose-your-own-adventure-type text-based games.  I remember well the horrors of a day when I was trying to save my progress to the cassette tape (we didn't have a disk drive; it was a tape drive) and the damn thing ate my tape.  The whole game went kablooey.

Still stings, and how many years has it been now...?  ;)  asdlkjaldkfj.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking a while longer for us. I've been lurking the PS3 tech forum wanting to know when our FIRST patch should drop and it is still going through Sony certification across regions, etc. The general consensus is that XBox will get their first patch sometime this week and PS3 should get it sometime next week? But that's conjecture.

And that's also, since it's going through certification (which I believe means it's out of Bioware's hands and out the door, as far as they're concerned), a patch that's locked and ready to go, basically. So, if Luke says this rivalry ending is on their next patch... that makes me think it would be the patch AFTER this one that's almost released.

S'okay. I have my templar warrior chick rivalrymance playthrough idea on a backburner. I am ready for the FIRST patch to finally drop because it addresses the slow-mo glitches you can get from Isabela. I have literally tabled my male mage Hawke because she's a big, pivitol part of his playthrough. I read about the glitch early enough that I could safely table him and his current progress until the patch drops, then pick up and carry on.

Yeah, I would have been broken hearted, too. As it is, I spent weeks creating dungeons and designing an entire interactable game my friends could play with the "Unlimited Adventures" software back in the early 90's. I still have the floppy it's stored on, but all that work and effort I put into the story and now I can even access it anymore.

No doubt. I'll just say they had a reputation for buying up rival companies and dismantling them. That definitely does not appear to be the case with Bioware, but I totally freaked when it was announced.

My Atari sadly became a victim of my curiosity. I took it apart to see how it worked.

The dead Warden is more romantic.

Bioware will be safe as long as it keeps making money. Unfortunately it may lead to rather formulaic gameplay further and further down the line. Metrics for the win.

Zev's not the romantic type, anyways. :D I just want to shove it in Isabela's face that my man is no longer on the market.

I'm fortunate: my fiance hated Anders the first time, thinking he was irritating, preachy and an unrepentant terrorist. He murderknifed him without hesitation. This latest run (his third, I think?) Anders is always in the party, he's maxed on friendship and the last thing I heard on the topic was, "you know, I think he's got a point." He still thinks Anders is too preachy for his own good, but he's coming around!

Also, guys?  Please trim your quote trees: I spend more time scrolling past a wall of quotes than I do reading the responses beneath them.

I guess to be fair, I didn't see how useless Elthina was until I really started talking to her and listening to what she was saying on my second playthrough. Everything is always a little more clear on the second time through, because you have the hindsight to make all the little details more obvious.

I want to stick my boot up her ass every time she tells me the Chantry is a gentle mother.
