I never dealt with the dumping by Alistair, so I can't really speak on that, but oh-so seconding you on the first part. I love that for the most part Hawke gets treated the same, whether it's a male or female PC. There's no condescending giggles when Lady Hawke gets mean or Mister Hawke gets sweet or vice versa. I love that, it's a good feeling being able to unselfconsciously play a badass woman.
I can understand if it's in Anders personality to warn off a potential suitor, but only doing it to the women just puts me a bit off. If it's in his personality that he sees a woman as more fragile as a man and therefore needing him to take control of the situation, then it makes me a bit uncomfortable with the character. My female character has just fought by his side and accepted that he's an abomination - why get like that when it's already obvious she can take care of herself?
If it's a perception of the writers that a female needs more warning than a male, or the people that are likely to pick up those roles need different introductions to the romance is really a whole other issue that I don't have the patience or clarity of mind to deal with right now.
I wonder if the scene could be modded so that Lady Hawke gets the more fun male dialogue path.
