If sons are easier...I am so damn glad I didn't have a girl.

With sons you get gems like this (especially when you're both playing the same game):

J: If there was an option to make Anders Tranquil I'd do it, just to make you cry.
Me: If there was an option to make my Jess Hawke come into the real world and stab you in the face I'd do it, and she would.

(We do have a very good relationship, honest  )

I almost did one because it would be interesting. The thread might become a cluster****, considering that the subject would be troll bait, but still. Interesting.

And I will have to say that, as much as I adore Anders, Leliana is the BW LI that made me gay. And Garrus made me a xenophile (which is a feat, considering I accidentally wooed Liara the first time I played ME).

Nah. My canon Hawke (icon!) is pretty inseparable from Anders, I just envy the male dialogue. I love Boulton's voice work in the game, I just prefer playing female badasses in games that will let me. I also prefer Lady Hawke in romances with all the companions except Fenris.

Nup, you're certainly not alone. Also, pretty much exactly what Threeparts said.
...Huh. You know, something just occurred to me. In forum RPGs, I play predominantly male characters. But when I'm playing video game RPGs, I play predominantly female. I wonder why.

Varric is so clever. He's lucky Anders is such a hot mess or I'd be wasting my time writing essays about his convenient flawlessness and lack of character development relative to his role as the game's narrator instead

That cap only came about because all three of them (Oghren's down on the left) followed my Warden into the corner when I was picking stuff up.

I don't miss that part of Origins at ALL, team members seem to move out of the way more easily in 2.

You totally should do it. I would but I don't have the brain or patience to manage a poll like that. People can choose not to reply if they feel it "offensive" or whatever, so there's no excuse for trolling.

I, for example, prefer male Hawke and Anders. For some reason, romancing him as a female seems...eh. Probably because I'm thinking that no female I know would have the patience to take every osbtacle he throws at Hawke. I know I wouldn't.
The first convo would be like,

Anders: Don't go there. I'll only hurt you.
AlexaHawke: Well, thanks for the warning. -skips off to find someone who won't hurt me-

But Fenris is like...a female's dream. If he wasn't so stuck on his hatred. Sexy male voice. Wields a big sword so you know he's strongggg. And tattoos. Oooooh I love tattoos. They cause you pain? EVEN BETTER.

But that's just the way I see it.

You just described exactly how I feel about both those romances.   My f!hawkes are definitely all about Fenris.  Lady bait?  Oh yes.

But I have to say I really, really like the idea of M!Hawkes with Anders.  I didn't think I would and I thought Fenris would be their man, but nope, definitely all about the Anders now.

If it helps to add balance: although I only play LadyHawkes myself, I  vicariously experience the M!Hawke/Anders romance through Lenox and Farron and all the other lovely Mister Hawkes in this thread. It's just as good without having to do any of the work!
