I quote my very Catholic cousins (and my Theology professor): Those who use the Christianity, or any religion, to promote hatred of others, have totally misunderstood the message.
Have to say, thats a good attitude to have.
I think a lot of Christians just cherry-pick from the Bible and ignore those passages they disagree with.

Or you could avoid another stereotype altogether.
I'm Catholic. Raised my whole life that way. Personally, I could give two ****s about homosexualtiy. If that's what makes you happy, then have at it. That's everyones right.
On a side note, anyone else suprised this thread hasn't been locked yet?

Anyone else boycotting this game because of the adult homosexual content?
Nope, just you... because normal people who are comfortable with their sexuality don't care and are smart enough to realize that being exposed to 'Adult Homosexual Content" isn't going to turn them homosexual...
So buddy, enjoy your ignorance, your insecurities, and fears.
The rest of us are going to be WTFPWNing some darkspawn and qunari.

The Bible's a terribly written piece of fiction.... <snip>
Actually it's terrific fiction, especiall considering how old it is....
What more could you want from an epic fantasy tale? A man splits a river in two so people can march safely through it... summons plagues and locusts on the Egyptian pharoh... Dude has a momentus conversation with a fiery bush that tells him the laws of man.... then later we meet some hippy fella who creates wine and bread from thin air to feed the masses.... cures lepers with the wave of a hand, gets nailed to a tree then comes back to freakin life.
Daaamn... that's epic stuff. J.R.R. Tolkien's got nothin on the bible I tell ya... pfft, elves, Sauron, hobbits, wizards. The bible's got freakin Jedi, wizards, psychics, supermen.
When when I want high quality fantasy fiction, I'll take the bible, thank you kindly

I wouldn't have a problem if the game allowed you to be gay, but made it clear that it was a bad choice. The player could turn to homosexuality, but could potentially lose health, XP, and his companions by going down this destructive path. This would be a more realistic and educational approach.

Making you a dangerous person when you think of it.
Grow up. Morality is a societal construct, yes, but it's nothing to do with religion. All religion does is take common sense and wrap it up in outmoded rites and dogma.
There is no common sense in organized religion.

So I suppose what you're suggesting is that promiscuous and unprotected sex is bad, and so is sharing needles? Hmm, I didn't reallize it was limited to one orientation.

It's interesting that ‘adult homosexual content’ is somehow a better reason for you to boycott it than the rampant, wanton slaughter.
If you take a game that seriously (and I'm not saying you shouldn't), should that not be of immensely higher moral priority?
Weird values are weird.
Homosexuality is condemned in the Bible. Slaughtering mindless darkspawns (the devil) isn't.
Actually I don't think it's mentioned in the bible. Once.
Wanna quote that for me?

Leviticus

Hope you're not wearing polyester.
Leviticus 19:19
“You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of
your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor
wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together.”
I don't get the polyester joke. But I don't deny that some things in the bible are outdated, and that it is possible that homosexuality being wrong could be one of them. But I personally don't believe it is, and I'm not telling anyone what to believe. Just what I believe. And I really don't have a problem with homosexuals. It's not my problem, so why should I care?

Leviticus 19:19
“You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of
your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor
wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together.”
This is a common tactic that doesn't hold water if you have even a rudimentary grasp on the principles of the Old Testament.
The Hebrew canon had moral commandments and ritualistic commandments. These two different types of commandments were mixed into one Mosaic Law to instill the idea that their God was different than Baal or Ra; their God demanded that they be holy, distinct. Up until this point, deities were not associated with morality. If you wanted to talk about what you should or shouldn't do, you would go to a philosopher, not a priest. That all changed with the institution of the Law of Moses. Homosexuality is considered by the Bible as an inherently moral issue. Clothing and diet are not. This is clarified in the first half of Acts, when Peter is told by God that the ritualistic elements of the Mosaic Law have now come to an end, such as the dietary restrictions and even the ritual of circumcision.
The inherently moral issues still stand, however. That is why you see Jesus and the Apostles condemning things like homosexuality, and not eating pork.

And if you believe in the Maker you lose a huge amount of willpower and cunning. Pity there's no intelligence stat in DA2, because that'd plummet too.

Very true.
I am a lesbian and an atheist, but I respect every religous view. I have been raised in a multi religious family (Buddisim, Catholic), have friends who are Christian and Morman, and I LOVE World Religions class at my university. I myself don't need a deity in my life, but I know many people who do. It is something they have hope for, that helps them through tings...I completely understand that and respect it. Learning opens your mind.
