Clearly you guys don't deal with Blizzard and some other companies enough where MIdnight in the U.S. is considered to be the same as Midnight on the Pacific coast.

And the reality is that while you got to pick up and install your game earlier. By Technicality they had to wait an extra 3 hours before they could ever pick it up in the first place. So you'll still beat them to playing.

It's even worse than that. It was 00:00 GMT. WHich means technically it should have been unlocked *hours* ago in the USA.

ROFL, unlikely. People with gaming PCs aren't going to go buy an inferior console version just because of a release date check that delays their playing the game by a few hours late in the evening.

I can almost guarantee you they will. Instant gratification and all that. PC sales slump as it is. Don't believe me? Look up average PC to console numbers. PC numbers are always lower, unless it's for example a huge MMO.

If I got told, hey you can take your PC version home, but cant play it for 3+ hours, or take home a PS3 version and play immediately I'd have bought a PS3 version.

What's worse is that a couple of my friends have it on XBox 360 and they just asked how I liked it and I told them I couldn't play yet and they said they were already in game. BOOOO for the PC verstion.

Yea i just picked it up from gamestop and have installed already. but guess what. cant play it cause it doesnt unlock till 3am my time EST. dammit looks like im not gonna play it ill tomorrow. as plenty tired already as it is. im not much of a night owl.

I will never buy a game at a midnight release again from EA. Period. I purchased it, i installed it, and now I cannot access my legitimate game. I don't care if it isn't midnight where you live, if you say theres going to be a midnight release on the east coast, you better have it playable on the east coast.

hows it bad it come out the same time just east coast is 3 hours ahead so you figure it would be fair if they got it 3 hours earlier than the rest of us

This is a serious slap in our faces... Thank you, Bioware and EA. I just wasted a night to get my game because I thought I'd be able to play it before going to bed, and I get this lousy release check from SecuROM. I already hate SecuROM enough because it likes to label my legitimate CD burning software as a threat to security.

Thanks guys. I'm going to start pirating your games in the future if this trend keeps up.

Cause everyone that buys it has watched these forums... right?  Maybe you should learn to think before speaking since many people have not looked at the forums recently or are not part of them AT ALL!

Given the way the release date check works, had it unlocked at midnight EST, I could simply have changed my PC timezone to EST and played at 9, which would have been even more unfair to you folks on the east coast who have to work in the morning.
