Nope, never - I thought I was totally jaded by gaming but DA's really rekindled my enthusiasm. Can't think of any other game I'd go the expense and effort of importing a CE from the US.

Never. It's the first game I pre ordered and actually cared to get the CE.

The first Baldur's Gate
Man I remember my hands shaking when I finally got it. Playing it the first time is still my favorite gaming experience ever.

I've gotten pretty hyped about a handful of games -- Oblivion, Fallout 3 among more recent games. The last game before that would have to be Legacy of Kain: Defiance (Kain is most definitely my favorite game character).
But the level of anticipation and obsession over DA I'm experiencing is quite high. It's surreal to think it's now just days away...

Uhh, I might get shot for saying this but, Spore (Don't hate on it). It was a little overhyped but I still liked it. But after I found out there was a second Mass Effect and saw the great trailer for it (which I got goosebumps watching) I've never been more hyped up. Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2 are the most I've ever been hyped up about; surpassing any other game's hype.

I was very very excited about Fallout 3 until it came and I was terribly let down. Yes I know many people loved it, but I felt it paled in comparison to the former two. I was also hyped when KOTOR 2 was coming out.

I haven't been this excited since waiting for the release of...Hellgate: London.
I thought I learned my lesson there, but noooo...so I got hyped about another disappointing game: Warhammer Online.
From what I've seen so far, tho', I think I'm pretty confident that I won't be too disappointed w/ DA:O. I hope.

1) Street Fighter 2: Turbo Edition (SNES - 1993)
2) Final Fantasy 6 (SNES - 1994)
3) Chrono Trigger (SNES - 1995)
4) The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64 - 1998)
All of that said, I was a kid then... I haven't had a feeling of excitement like this (for a video game!) since becoming an adult, that's for sure.

Yeah, disappointing a bit. But I got a good feeling DA:O will exceed our expectations. (Or at least meet them in a birthday "surprise!" type way)

I was far more excited about Oblivion, but instead of the next Morrowind it turned out to be an awkward, awful looking and bland game.

I have to say, I haven't been this excited for a long while. Of course, I fully expect to be let down as is the way of things. *keeps telling himself that to avoid going crazy from anticipation*

For me, Mass Effect for PC has been the only game I've been so excited about as Dragon Age. Can you imagine how hard it was to not spoil anything for yourself for about 6 months when the entire game had already been released earlier for Xbox.
But yeah, at some point in September/early October I had such a 'need to own it NOW'-feeling that it wasn't even funny.

I was this excited for Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, but not anymore given my recent discoveries of how they are integrating DLC into the game... err....
