In 25 years gaming... twice has this been equalled for me. Civ IV which delivered. NWN2 which I was slightly disappointed in.

I've got a good feeling about this one though - there's been enough info out to see that it will be fantastic!

Half-Life 2, was the only game that lived up to my levels of excitement. Though Diablo 2, and the original Half-Life expansion: Opposing Force came close. I REALLY hope this will too.

I was about Oblivion. Then, after playing it, I reconsidered. I am now... but I keep my expectations low, so... :P

I was close to this excited for the expansion to BG II and for the release of Everquest way back when (BIG mistake, ruined a year of middleschool).

That being said, never as an adult have I been so excited for a game.

Before this, only Crysis and Mass Effect has had me this much up in a frenzy off excitement before release. There's also Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 2 and StarCraft 2 that are currently building up excitement and may very well reach the same level before they are released.

Crysis was another one I really anticipated as well.  I think that was primarily due to the multiplayer demo they released a month or so before the actual game.

Last time I was this excited for a game was Warhammer Online, which after release of the beta (which I was a part of) I played constantly for months. I fear the same for this game too.

Hmm. Good question. C&C: Red Alert and Ocarina of Time were massive for me as next steps for great franchises - couldn't wait. Starcraft and Mass Effect as new sci-fi IPs from great devs, and I love science fiction above all else. I stayed lower-key on DA:O for a while, but the hype's really swept me up - it's going to be incredible.

I've been excited for plenty of games, and quite a lot of them have turned out to be very good too. Let me think CnCRA2:YR was one I was very excited about, PSO1 & 2, and PSO 3, PSU and expansion, Black and White 2, all of the expansion packs for Sins of a Solar Empire, Overlord 2, and the wondiferous The Sims 3.

Some of the erm... not so good ones I have been excited for were CnC:Red Alert 3, which is totally inferior in every single way to Red Alert 2 and anyone who says otherwise is a poopyhead. Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, which is the only video I have EVER returned, the only effort they put into the entire game was the intro movie, which is still the best video game intro I've ever seen... shame that the whole rest of the game is torture.

The worst disappointment for me however was Incoming: Forces, the sequal to the game Incoming. I loved Incoming, I played it from being young to being... well... how I am now I suppose, so many years ago when I heard of a sequal I just had to get it. I nearly cried at how bad it was. :/

But I don't think anything has excited me as much as Dragon Age: Origins really, I've never been quite so pumped up about a game before.

I've been this excited for only a handful of games. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time which totally delivered. Rock Band, again totally delivered, hell I skipped my favorite college class to play that game all day. And Fallout 3, which was amazing for the first day, really good the next few days but just never quite stacked up to being everything I wanted.

Funny thing is, I wasn't even hyped when I first bought most of my all time favorite games. Most I bought on a whim or after reading some good reviews and only hours into them realized I was playing best game of all time material. Fallout, Baldur's Gate and Thief all fall into this category.

I am a Valve fanboy, as well as a Bioware one. I am equally excited about L4D2 as well as DA:O

No. I've been playing computer games since my Commodore 64 was a "good computer", and I have never, EVER in my life been even close to as excited about a game coming out as I am about Dragon Age.

Prior to Dragon Age . . . I never would have considered myself a "fanboy" of a game or a game company. But now I am, and quite without reservation!

Prior to Dragon Age, I never pre-ordered a game. Pre-ordered my copy of Dragon Age from Amazon months ago!

Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought the collector's edition of a game. Wouldn't have dreamed of getting the regular version of this one!

Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought a strategy guide for a game. Got the hardcover collector's guide on the way too! (Just for the lore/art and my collection, I certainly won't use it to spoil game secrets.)

Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought or read novels based on a video game. Devoured both novels, and LOVED them! (And I'm eager for more, Mr. Gaider.)

Prior to Dragon Age, I never spent hours every day, for weeks and weeks preceding a game's release, scouring the Internet for every interview, video, forum post, preview, review, podcast, and wiki entry about a game that I could find. Now, I'm spending ALL my free online time reading or watching Dragon Age stuff!

Prior to Dragon Age, I never played a flash/browser game for more than a few minutes. Played DA: Journeys through three times, and I'm gonna play it again!

Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought or played any pen-and-paper RPG products based on a video game. Now I'm eagerly awaiting the Green Ronin game, and already plan to run a campaign in Dragon Age for my D&D buddies!

Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought or read a comic book based on a computer game. I'll be getting the Dragon Age comic as soon as it's available!

Prior to Dragon Age, I never felt like the time I had to wait for a game to be released was an interminable period of desperate longing. I'm starving for this game!

And everything I see, hear, or read about Dragon Age makes me love it more, want it more. I've watched a LOT of gameplay footage by now (especially after the awesome Wardens' Quest event!), and every minute of it has increased my eager anticipation and desire to drown myself in this game.

So no, I've not been this excited over a game release before. Not by a wide, wide margin.

Lol, i have been excited about DA:O for years aswell as a few others, i am also excited about mass effect 2 and TOR. The excitement gets more intense the closer the release date gets, right now i am controlling myself but 2 days before it ships it will be hard not to get excited.

I was stoked for Fable 2...and disappointed. Made me not want to get into the hype of another game, but I ended up doing so with DA anyway :P I strongly doubt it'll fail me too though.

I was excited for Oblivion. I was going to buy the CE for Oblivion but I got the regular edition at the last moment, but I don't think I was ever this excited for a game. I usually don't bother signing up on the forums for the game unless I need to to register it.

I was really excited for Fallout 3, that was one of the first games I ever followed on the forums, followed by Gears of War 2 (It was coming out on my birthday). This game makes me hopefully, because I am one of the few who really enjoyed Fallout 3 for WHAT IT WAS and not what it was hyped to be.. I RPed everything in that game, a little bit of mods go a long way.

Half Life 2 was the only other game I've been this excited for. Man did that game blew me away. I'm still playing it sometimes nowadays with cinematic mod 10.

I definitely get excited about certain game releases, but I have to say that I'm completely over-the-top-crazy-excited about this game. The wait is killing me!
