I've got a good feeling about this one though - there's been enough info out to see that it will be fantastic!

That being said, never as an adult have I been so excited for a game.

Before this, only Crysis and Mass Effect has had me this much up in a frenzy off excitement before release. There's also Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 2 and StarCraft 2 that are currently building up excitement and may very well reach the same level before they are released.
Crysis was another one I really anticipated as well. I think that was primarily due to the multiplayer demo they released a month or so before the actual game.

Some of the erm... not so good ones I have been excited for were CnC:Red Alert 3, which is totally inferior in every single way to Red Alert 2 and anyone who says otherwise is a poopyhead. Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, which is the only video I have EVER returned, the only effort they put into the entire game was the intro movie, which is still the best video game intro I've ever seen... shame that the whole rest of the game is torture.
The worst disappointment for me however was Incoming: Forces, the sequal to the game Incoming. I loved Incoming, I played it from being young to being... well... how I am now I suppose, so many years ago when I heard of a sequal I just had to get it. I nearly cried at how bad it was. :/
But I don't think anything has excited me as much as Dragon Age: Origins really, I've never been quite so pumped up about a game before.

Funny thing is, I wasn't even hyped when I first bought most of my all time favorite games. Most I bought on a whim or after reading some good reviews and only hours into them realized I was playing best game of all time material. Fallout, Baldur's Gate and Thief all fall into this category.

Prior to Dragon Age . . . I never would have considered myself a "fanboy" of a game or a game company. But now I am, and quite without reservation!
Prior to Dragon Age, I never pre-ordered a game. Pre-ordered my copy of Dragon Age from Amazon months ago!
Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought the collector's edition of a game. Wouldn't have dreamed of getting the regular version of this one!
Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought a strategy guide for a game. Got the hardcover collector's guide on the way too! (Just for the lore/art and my collection, I certainly won't use it to spoil game secrets.)
Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought or read novels based on a video game. Devoured both novels, and LOVED them! (And I'm eager for more, Mr. Gaider.)
Prior to Dragon Age, I never spent hours every day, for weeks and weeks preceding a game's release, scouring the Internet for every interview, video, forum post, preview, review, podcast, and wiki entry about a game that I could find. Now, I'm spending ALL my free online time reading or watching Dragon Age stuff!
Prior to Dragon Age, I never played a flash/browser game for more than a few minutes. Played DA: Journeys through three times, and I'm gonna play it again!
Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought or played any pen-and-paper RPG products based on a video game. Now I'm eagerly awaiting the Green Ronin game, and already plan to run a campaign in Dragon Age for my D&D buddies!
Prior to Dragon Age, I never bought or read a comic book based on a computer game. I'll be getting the Dragon Age comic as soon as it's available!
Prior to Dragon Age, I never felt like the time I had to wait for a game to be released was an interminable period of desperate longing. I'm starving for this game!
And everything I see, hear, or read about Dragon Age makes me love it more, want it more. I've watched a LOT of gameplay footage by now (especially after the awesome Wardens' Quest event!), and every minute of it has increased my eager anticipation and desire to drown myself in this game.
So no, I've not been this excited over a game release before. Not by a wide, wide margin.
